The ADHD thread is the last straw..!

People saying "oh but that's normal for a 4 year old" etc.

They have NO CLUE.

It's totally spoiling MN for me and there are just more and more of them coming out of the woodwork. Sad

"lots of 4 year olds in Reception are easily distracted".

Hide it Fanjo! No good can com from idiot judgy threads like that.

5inthebed · 22/08/2010 20:27

And you're not allowed to leave! Sit there and be a good girl.

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 22/08/2010 20:28

OK, I might just leave NT Mumsnet! Smile

Grin at NT mumsnet

genieinabottle · 22/08/2010 20:30

where about is that thread then... my curiosity has been aroused! Grin

Looked at the first page then walked away! Ds (severe ASD, Learning Difficulties and other co-morbids) is currently being assessed for ADHD and I really can't be bothered with threads like that!

What are we told so often "ignore the bad, praise the good" - I find the same approach works with mumsnet threads!

saintlydamemrsturnip · 22/08/2010 20:37

I was going to start a thread about general ignorance observed this week. Best just to turn it off. It's an ignorant world out there.

genieinabottle · 22/08/2010 20:37

omg! is the OP for real???? Biscuit

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 22/08/2010 20:37

It is..was just out in it all day with the stares, then came home to it..had been feeling great about how well DD did today too!!

genieinabottle · 22/08/2010 20:38

mean the OP this 'Breton person' for the ADHD thread of course! Wink

TotalChaos · 22/08/2010 20:42

I had a look, saw the OP was some random person I've never heard of who probably is posting to troll, thought oh do fuck off and clicked away.

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 22/08/2010 20:42

oh,i thought you meant me! Grin

I read a bit of it, what always strikes me about these kind of people is do they have any idea how traumatic it is to go to a health professional and tell them that you have these concerns about your child, and they are so obviously completly clueless about how many hoops you and your child have to jump through to get recognised as needing additional support. I didn't bother posting a reply cos I am not in the mood for getting shot down, school hols are hard enough without looking for trouble. Nobody should be made to feel like leaving because of someone elses ignorance and stupidity!

TheArsenicCupCake · 22/08/2010 20:52

Gahh I get back from another busy day, park my bum and find more SN bashing happening.

they really need to make sure the door doesn't hit them on the backside as the leave the room.

Honestly you can't say so much these days that this type of person is only left with SN and teenagers to have a bash at .. If it were about any other group they wouldn't get away with it.

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 22/08/2010 20:56

TotalChaos, you are a stronger woman than i!

I try and stay away fron NT mumsnet for the same reason, i wish i could stay away from parents of NT children (the nasty ones). We always get the comment 'well thats just normal for a 6 year old' and 'oh, my dd/ds does that and he isn't autistic' Angry. I feel a lot better on SN mumsnet Smile.

Oh and Fanjo, you can't go, we would all miss you too much Smile.

cansu · 22/08/2010 21:01

I think you are right total Chaos and ineed2. Have now wound myself up and need nice glass of rose to calm down!

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 22/08/2010 21:07

aww shucks Grin

I've been on here 6 years, so after the 100th shitty thread it helps to develop a thicker skin - though sometimes on a bad day it can take v. little indeed for some twat to be upsetting.

Lougle · 22/08/2010 21:16

Ladies, Ladies, queue up to hear my amazing news:

DD1 is CURED.

No longer does she have an attention span even a goldfish would be ashamed of.

No longer does she need constant supervision to ensure her safety.

No longer is she completely unable to learn because her attention doesn't stay on one thing long enough.

Breton1900 and Katiestar have concluded that, indeed, my DD1 has normal behaviour for her age.

Still that pesky matter of the MRI scan, but I am sure we could hide the images, hey?

Oh, and the statement of SEN that only 0.6% of children her age and sex have.

OOPS, and the fact that she has a special school place waiting for her.....perhaps I should phone and tell them she doesn't need it anymore, because

SHE IS CURED! CURED I TELL YOU!

COME, COME, LEAVE EVERYYTHING YOU WERE DOING AND CELEBRATE WITH ME [GRIN] [GRIN] [GRIN]

Oh dear, it seems that I posted during a dream. DD1 will still be the same tomorrow as she was when she went to bed tonight, won't she?

ouryve · 22/08/2010 21:25

I'm imagining the OP with an inane grin as she pushes buttons.

I told her I'd smack DS1 if I could smack her first. She's presumably old enough and NT enough to know better.

ouryve · 22/08/2010 21:28

Oh - and DS1 likes having his bottom lightly smacked - he used to fall asleep as we did it! Don't tell the troll that, though ;)

Glitterknickaz · 22/08/2010 21:29

So much for my 'break' Blush
I'm only going to sit here and in camping though.

What I don't get is racist trollery is not tolerated. Why is disablist behaviour tolerated by MN admin?
