shejokes11 · 15/10/2026 23:15

I made a new thread as the other one consisted mainly of July/August claims. Feel free to insert scan date for the above months and whether it’s a new claim or MR and update when you have been awarded ! Good Luck 🤞🏽
NC - new claims
MR - mandatory reconsideration
SD - scan date se

Long time watcher here!
scan date 5/8
called Friday told with decision maker
Told the same again on Monday. Called today and the lady on the phone said she would call me back. Called back to tell me it’s still on the decision makers desk and she’s working through the backlog in date order, goodness knows how long it will be!
how anyone has the stomach for this I have no idea, I’m a nervous wreck

Stressedasmum2026 · 21/10/2026 12:30

I've actually ended up escalating our claim through our MP. Although we're only at 10 weeks and 4 days, my frustration is that the application has just been sitting in a queue, and nobody has even looked at it yet.
We submitted over 15 supporting documents alongside the application, including professional assessments, medical evidence and his EHCP. I've tried to be as thorough as possible and cover every aspect of his additional care and support needs, so hopefully there shouldn't be any need to request further evidence.
I completely understand that claims need to be assessed properly, but surely the first step should be for someone to actually review what's already been submitted? A decision maker could potentially have everything they need to make a decision without any further delays.
It's the fact that we've waited over ten weeks just for someone to pick up the application, never mind actually assess it, that's so frustrating 😢

Same to you! I will let you know if I hear anything and please do the same!
I really thought I’d call and it would have been a decline so trying to take the positives, no decision yet it’s better than a decline..gosh I sound crazy! Haha!

You definitely sound how we all feel. It’s the not knowing, that’s the part that messes you up. There’s zero tracking of applications, people after you have already been refused or awarded, have I got enough evidence? Too much? It’s not the diagnosis it’s how it affects them, have I explained it correctly? Have I used the proper terminology? Urgh… it’s mentally draining, fighting for a few quid to help you be able to help your child be able to function like a ‘normal’ child… I think looking into it, the lady whose SD was 03/08 that was awarded had a payment show on Tuesday would have had her case granted last Wednesday, so if your case is granted then it could be a payment shows up by next Tuesday, my scan dates the 7th so I could be waiting two weeks still if it’s taking 3/4 days a scan date to process…

The mp wouldn’t have a say on that matter I think x

Hey Fedup, ive just posted my daughters NC for mental health. She's just turned 14, she's now being home schooled as of last month due to the severity of her MH declining, school was amazing its been on going for over year now and they did a managed move to see if that helped but it made it worse and she returned to her school 8 weeks later. Then after a few months it just got so bad we had a meeting and school said home schooling is prob our only option or she's going to start self harming, gp refered to cahms, cams said TOG ( agency for talk therapy/counseling) she's refused that so back to gp yesterday and hes done a new referral back to cahms to be seen my a phycologist. She always says she doesn't want to be here no more.. her panick attacks are multiple times a day, her moods so low she doesnt leave the house or have any kind of interaction with anyone outside out house its absolutely draining to see and deal with.

I hope you get a positive outcome, I know if we dont ill be straight to MR and then tribunal if they take it that far!

Goodluck, I got a message this morn saying forms received 25w wait so we shall see x

@GoNoSixx in so sorry you’ve had to go through this. Life is just so unfair isn’t it.

We had CBT counselling here which didn’t work and we’ve now been referred to CYMPHS /CAHMS for further counselling but DC just can’t see the light at the end of the tunnel. All my friends have (understandably) stopped inviting me out and talking to me - when they ask how I am and I’m honest with them they just don’t know what to say or can handle it.

I never thought my life would be like this to be honest x

Seeing my daughters consultation wrote down from yesterday's gp app and fresh referrals requested was a hard pill to swallow 😢
