Oh, and I also got Slimmer of the Week, which made me stupidly happy (am I aged six? 🤣) as it has only ever happened once before. I think I benefited from other people’s Easter indulgences! 😊

fishfingerbutty · 10/04/2026 21:32

Well done Tea rose. I weighed in this morning post holiday and have gone two pounds over my top target weight, so I’m back on the wagon this week and hoping that two pounds will be off next Friday.

Mash88 · 11/04/2026 14:02

Well done @TeaRose29 on the loss and SOTW.
@fishfingerbutty 2 pounds post holiday isn’t too bad, that should easily come off.

Weighed in this morning and lost 2 pounds. Not quite got rid of the big gain a couple of weeks back, but it’s the motivation I need. Been swimming and walking to work when I can. Partner is working away for 2 week come Monday and taking all the Easter snacks and goodies with him.

New to this thread and fairly new to SW (I last did Sw in2017). Only three weeks in and first two weeks I lost half a stone, this week, 1lb on. I am absolutely furious. No idea why. Anyway hope everyone else is doing better than me!

Try not to be disheartened.
You’ve lost six pounds in three weeks and that’s a great result.
Keep at it this coming week and you’ll probably see a loss at next weigh in.
Speak to your Consultant and fellow members too for reassurance.

Another half pound off yesterday - yay! I was 10.5 when I re-joined in February, and I’m now 10.1 1/2 and in my target range. Apart from last week, when I lost 1.5, I have steadily lost, tortoise-like, half a pound a week, but it all adds up. I know it’s the accountability of coming to group. Well done @Mash88 and @Dancemamskintmam , don’t be disheartened, as @fishfingerbutty says you’ve had a great result, and all sorts of things can affect your weight. I know that if I have a couple of glasses of wine in the evening I will weigh less the next day, but it’s temporary dehydration, not fat loss! Blush

I had one week where I stayed the same. I think it was lack of exercise over Easter that did it. Back to half a pound off at my weigh in yesterday though. Well done with the half a stone!

Mash88 · 21/04/2026 07:07

@Dancemamskintmam its easy to feel disheartened but you need to focus on the half a stone down in 3 weeks which is an amazing result.
Lost 0.5lb on Saturday - not quite sure if I’m happy or annoyed with that. But a loss is a loss. Weighing in on Wednesdays the next 2 weeks due to last minute plans (as I’m on a countdown I can’t book them as holiday now). Not expecting much tomorrow but next week is going for a loss.

Anybody else frustrated with being in between sizes in clothes. Half my wardrobe is too loose & baggy. The other half is too small and tight. Feel like I’m living in the same two outfits.

If you want to buy a few things to put you on a bit, Google “ one size” clothing for places to buy from.

Mash88 · 22/04/2026 21:57

Thanks @fishfingerbutty for the recommendation, I’ve had a brief look and there are several pieces I have my eyes on.

Weighed in today instead of my normal Saturday and lost 1lb (which has taken me beyond the gain the had several weeks ago) finally lost that and now more. I always seem to have better weigh ins on a Wednesday group rather than the Saturdays.

TeaRose29 · 23/04/2026 14:11

Another half off yesterday and I’m happy with that. That’s 6 pounds off since January, and while it’s been slow, I haven’t had any weeks where I’ve gained. I’ve had 2 maintains, and otherwise usually just a half off. I’m aiming to get to the low end of my target range.

GenerousGardener · 23/04/2026 19:48

Managed to Lose a pound this week, after a maintain last week. I’ve nearly lost three and a half stone and have another stone to go. It’s a struggle as I’m thinking about buttery toast, crisp sandwiches, and galaxy chocolate. I’m making do with English strawberries…..not quite the same.

Your dreams of crisp butties, buttered toast and chocolate can easily fit in with SW plan.
Don’t deprive yourself.
Two healthy extra bread choices ( two thick slices of wholemeal), two tsp lighter Lurpak ( 3 swips), packet of lower fat crisps ( around 5 swips), don’t know about chocolate as it’s not something that I spend swips on, but you have around 7 swips to spare here.

GenerousGardener · 23/04/2026 21:11

@fishfingerbuttyid not thought of any of that. What a good idea. Thanks.

MikeRafone · 24/04/2026 04:38

Galaxy chocolate is now changed, it literally sticks in my throat as trying to swallow. Don’t worry about missing it as it’s now disgusting 🤢

TeaRose29 · 01/05/2026 09:41

Another 1.5 off this week. Absolutely stunned!

MikeRafone · 01/05/2026 10:17

Ive lost 2.5ilb this week

Not going to group (can't atm but want to get back at some point) but following the plan and also using AI to help and keep me on track. Ive found AI really useful when eating out - I show the menu and ai tells me the best choices and what to avoid on the menu.

I also put in what I have eaten and ai seems to work out my swips, so I know im on track

Izzasaurus · 17/05/2026 11:34

Wondering whether it's ok for me to join this group?

I started Slimming World in late Janauary.
I've made some really great progress and thought I was well into it. Then last night I hosted family for a small party, got drunk, ate huge amounts of takeaway, danced, got drunker, and am now feeling both physically awful and horrified at how quickly I spiralled into ridiculousness.

I know it was just one night, and to be honest it was very fun. It has reminded me though of how easy it is to 'fall off the wagon in a big way. Hangry hangover this morning... am studiously sticking to a good plan.

SW pre-slimming world (late Jan): 14 stone 13
CW: 12 stone 2

fishfingerbutty · 17/05/2026 14:57

It’s a scientific fact that willpower is soluble in alcohol!
Never mind, back on the wagon now and move forward.

MikeRafone · 18/05/2026 08:38

I'm down 5 and a half pounds now 17/5

Mash88 · 25/05/2026 12:07

Weighed in today instead of the normal Saturday. Gained 2 lbs that’s the second gain in two weeks.
Had a meltdown yesterday with the heat and nothing to wear etc etc.
Has given me my motivation a massive boost as I don’t want to go through summer feeling like I did this weekend.
New magazine is currently being read, food shop has been done, using the food diaries in the book.
How is everyone coping with the heat?

Ah sounds frustrating. I relate to the clothing meltdown. I have actually just passed the 3 stone loss mark since joining Slimming World and am so chuffed with that, but am disappointed to find my confidence in my summer body feels just as low as it did last year. I keep telling myself it will be easier to face this summer with a fifth of my body weight gone but it's a shame not to feel that thrill of confidence that I dreamt of.

I'm finding the heat easier in that I think it makes me want to eat less and drink more (although unfortunately booze as well as water...), but harder in terms of working out what to wear. I've got some quite loose flowy trousers for work that I do with a t shirt and waistcoat, or tank top and blouse, but I don't feel very glam, and even that is too bloody hot by far any time I'm not in air con. For casual dressing I have a couple of longish skirts and dresses I keep using as I refuse to let myself do shorts at the moment beyond my own house / garden. Oh and a couple of lightweight material, one-size-fits-all dungaree-type things that are great for walks etc, very stretchy and can be made to look more glam with the right accessories at a push.

Annoyed with myself for saying these things as if I were advising a friend in a similar position I'd be telling them that life is too short for this bullshit and they should get out there and enjoy the heat regardless of leg shape! Ahh hard to take your own advice...

FishPie2 · 06/06/2026 16:29

Weight in today and I have hit target, was a surprise as I don't lose 2.5lbs a week normally, usually 1, and thought this last push would take me a few weeks.
Also won S of the Week and got my club 10. I didn't dare listen when they did the raffle but the woman next to me won it, thank goodness.
I was told by a lady who has been at target for a few years that the real hard work starts here and don't be tempted to celebrate too much tonight.

Congratulations on reaching your target! This is very awesome!

fishfingerbutty · 08/06/2026 10:45

Well done on reaching your target.
You’ll have been given the Slim for Life book, so follow the advice in there.
I’ve found that my maintenance plan is little different from the weight loss plan: I don’t get away with much.
I’ve been at my target now for 23 years.
