2lbs off for me this week which I'm pleased with. Would have loved a little more but if I can consistently lose that amount each week then it will quickly add up.

A revelation for me this week has been planning! I've always vaguely planned, I mean you have to to be able to do your weekly shop. But this week I have literally planned out every meal and snack in advance which has allowed me to properly think about how to use my syns and HEs to the max. Means I don't get to tea time and realise I have no syns or HEs left so end up having something uninspiring.

FourTeaFallOut · 02/02/2024 11:56

I had a 2.5 pound loss marked yesterday. 0.5 stone down now, one stone to go.

Wilma55 · 04/02/2024 08:23

I think someone mentioned 2 Chubby Cubs recipes, there's an offer on a kindle book of theirs for 99p. I much prefer a real book but thought I'd try some of the recipes so I've invested 99p!

Well done to all the losers and those planning ahead.

I had a 2.5 pound loss on Fri but it's dc1 birthday this weekend so I am not sure how this week will go. I wasn't fantastic food wise yesterday but didn't eat a lot of junk but barely ate (to busy with his party etc) but back to plan today.

Testarossa44 · 04/02/2024 09:29

Won't weigh in until tomorrow. But I did check my measurements yesterday. And I've list 4cms from my chest, 5 off my waist and 3.5 off my hips. So hoping the scales reflect that tomorrow!

Ohforaslimmerme2024 · 04/02/2024 14:20

Well done @OverTheRainbow2023 that was a good loss and to every else who had a nice achievement.

well I’m not even going to admit my gain, but I have been reading lots of interesting posts and gathering a few ideas. DH has reached his goal weight, he needed to gain for his next treatment, so I’m hoping next week will be easier. I’ve lots of healthy batch meals in the freezer and am going to add heaps of veggies for me. Just heading into our mega tough week which means me sitting on chairs and being supportive.

there’s a nice free casserole in the oven at the moment and I had a tasty omelette for lunch. Somewhere I’ve an old SW diary with pages left from when I did go to group so I’m on the hunt in a moment and mums given some old mags so I’ll get some inspiration.

I’ve dug into my savings and bought a robot vacuum cleaner and whilst it’s doing the vacuuming I’m going to try doing some of the SW exercise classes and commit to some body magic this week. (Yes I know vacuuming is good exercise but I’ve the most painful elbow and arm for months & I can’t bear pushing the hoover around).

hope everyone has a good week.

Hi all
@thenewaveragebear1983 I could have written what you have! I got down to target last august then hols/berevement/xmas sees me back to needing to lose a stone.
I've do exactly what you do. Go half hearted then panic and restrict carbs and don't eat properly so this week I'm going back to complete basics to get my head back in the game. We have a weekend away at Easter and I'd love to shift a decent chunk of weight by then.
Thanks for this thread it's good to get some ideas and reenergised. I go to group but sometimes it's a bit tedious.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 04/02/2024 21:55

Thanks @hby9628

i’ve had a much better day today, it’s weird isn’t it, some days it just ‘clicks’
I had a terrible night, was up at 6 with the dog, and thought I was going to have a shocker but I’d prepped a crustless quiche with lots of veggies in so I had 2 big wedges of that, and another slice for lunch. I went for a run and a decent walk with doggo. This evening I have prepped some things for the week: a big pot of pea and ham soup, a box of mini meatball muffins, and I’ve prepped my overnight oats for 2 days (oats, scoop of chocolate protein powder, fat free yogurt and raspberries, it’s a b choice and 4 syns) - I really do better when I’m all prepped

Testarossa44 · 05/02/2024 17:26

Super pleased, I've lost 3.5lbs! Makes it a total of half a stone! Have been on it this week though. But nice to see the rewards!

hby9628 · 05/02/2024 20:30

@Testarossa44 well done. What a great result

TomWambsgansSwans · 05/02/2024 21:03

I'm jumping back in again having had a week feeling a bit depressed in all honesty. I didn't go to weigh in this week but I ate well today so hopefully that will be an end to it!

thenewaveragebear1983 · 06/02/2024 06:51

I had a good day yesterday, I’ve started my PT programme so I did a home workout for the first time since leaving the gym in October! I am trying increase my protein so alongside tracking on my SW app I also tracked on MFP. It’s a bit complicated doing both, but I wanted to get a gauge of just how much protein I am eating as I need to hit 100g+ a day. Interesting that I could see my calorie total and I have quite quickly realised that although I am well within my syns (ended on 8 yesterday) the free food adds up and I was probs 1600 calories. I hate calorie counting, I’m rubbish at it and I have no intention of doing it long term, but maybe it does explain why my SW weight loss is sooooo sloooooow. I basically eat too much. So I’m going to track my protein for a couple of days each week just to ensure I am getting enough but be a bit more mindful of my choices generally and see where that leads me.

I took before and after photos for my challenge and oh. My. Days. - if that doesn’t inspire me, I don’t know what will. I look dreadful, old, and really lumpy and blotchy 🤦‍♀️ there’s no way they are seeing the light of day, but I will keep them for myself and will hopefully have a comparison shot in a few weeks!

Wilma55 · 06/02/2024 11:45

@thenewaveragebear1983 you could put the photo on mfp - I put one on of me once when i felt frumpy and another at new year when I felt good about myself - good to look back on.

Another measly half a pound off at group weigh in this morning - I know it all adds up and this week had a takeaway curry and more wine midweek so that needs sorting!

Well done @Testarossa44 !

hby9628 · 06/02/2024 21:18

@TomWambsgansSwans I felt the same last week. Maybe it was end of January blues!
Been much better yesterday and today. Also went for a run today. I'm back to group tomorrow

thenewaveragebear1983 · 08/02/2024 22:06

I gained half a pound this week. I’m really annoyed! It’s probably water retention due to being on my period, changing my diet and doing a hiit workout for the first time since October, but even so. I’m still annoyed! I had been really on it since Sunday- clearly not enough to undo the damage from last weekend.

oh well. I could have thrown myself headfirst into the biscuit tin but I know that’s not going to get me anywhere. So instead I made a delicious biryani with wholegrain rice and loads of veg, plenty left for leftovers for the freezer. I had a muller light chocolate pot which was 3.5syns. Feeling very virtuous.

tomorrrow, overnight oats, leftover biryani and salad, dinner is chicken thighs and stir fry. I’m still not drinking- that’s 40 days tomorrow, the longest I have gone for years. I want my weight loss next week so I’m going to go after it!

Ohforaslimmerme2024 · 08/02/2024 23:20

I finally had a loss. Only half a pound but made me happier.

i put some grapes on a side plate today and every time I wanted a biscuit I ate a couple of grapes. I’m going to try and keep this up. My sugar intake is horrendous and it’s my go to stress buster.

I’ve also found a Saturday group about a ten minute drive away so that can’t interfere with his nibs appointments as they are week days. So next month I am going to swop to going to group with an old friend I met up with this week who I didn’t realise was still a member.

well done @thenewaveragebear1983 on your 40 days. I ought to try and match you by going without chocolate.

OverTheRainbow2023 · 10/02/2024 10:01

Well done @Ohforaslimmerme2024 @Wilma55 @Testarossa44 on the losses. I also had a disappointing 1/2 pound loss. I was 100% on it last week and super motivated so nearly had a little cry at the scales when I saw just 1/2 lb off. I've got to remember anything off is good and I'm hoping it was just a bit of a fluke and I will see the loss next week.

I'm going to try and up my speed to half a plate, include more protein and drink more water this week and hope that helps!

Wilma55 · 10/02/2024 11:10

@Ohforaslimmerme2024 I hope you find the Saturday group works out for you, its much better if you have someone to go with. I've switched group to one with a fab consultant and where I know a couple of the other members - it encourages me to stay to the meeting.

You don't need Slimming World, it's a cult and absolutely does not set you up for healthy eating and maintaining a sensible weight.

Why post on a Sw thread?
It's not a cult. How ridiculous. It's a way of eating that works for many many people.
Who are you to tell people what to do?

TomWambsgansSwans · 10/02/2024 21:36

Thank you @hby9628!

Weigh in today for me - I put a pound on but I'm not very surprised as I've not been very good at all this week! So I'm 9st 10 this week with 11bs to target.

I am quite annoyed with myself as I was on the last week of my gold award and didn't get all my days in so the app is now telling me I need to start again - I'm not sure if that js right.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 11/02/2024 08:04

I’ve had a good week, I was looking through my notebook last night and since last Monday I’ve only had 60 syns. Normally I max out to 105(and maybe a few extras!). Something has definitely clicked for me this week. I’ve been eating more protein, I add a scoop of protein powder to my porridge/overnight oats at breakfast and trying to snack on protein rather than carbs. Whether it works on the scales remains to be seen but it’s definitely getting me into a good headspace.

we had shopping order dramas last night and dh and dcs ended up ordering dominoes, I was super virtuous and had a baked potato with beans and cheese. That means dinner tonight is last nights planned meal- chicken wrapped in Parma ham with mozzarella. I need to eat more veg this week, in addition to my protein. I can’t quite do an SP week, but trying to cut out the carby snacks.

its pancake day this week- what’s everyone doing re: pancakes? I love them. I have to have one. My choices are I guess - make oat/protein pancakes using some online recipe, probably count as my healthy b choice and a few syns, I have some zero golden syrup and lemon and sweetener. OR make a small amount of mixture and make proper pancakes and have one to savour. There is no chance I’m making a SW eggy/sweetener combo. I have to have a proper one, but I’m happy with just one!

Wilma55 · 11/02/2024 08:52

Lovely meal out last night at friends ds - they did home made Chinese to celebrate Chinese New year, crispy pork included! Over indulged and also a bottle of wine. Weighed at home this morning and am 2.75 pounds more than the same time yesterday! I'm thinking most of that will come off by tomorrow but need to make some good choices.

Not weighing this week at group as got visitors (feeble excuse) so that's another issue as tend to cook more and have desserts/cheese.

Will just have one pancake with lemon and sweetener.
