All welcome Smile I joined Slimming World in November and so far lost 9.5lb, a bit of a gain over Christmas but getting there - I have around 3 stone to lose and I am looking forward to fitting into clothes not worn for a long time and have a big family wedding coming up. I would like to look like the slim, glamourous Aunt in the photos (without upstaging the bride!) Grin

I need to ask a slimming world bowel and flatulence related question.. Sorry for the tmi.
I've been doing slimming world for a few months now and my bowel movements are all over the place, I could be seriously backed up for a few days then literally 5 times a day, notwithstanding that, the flatulence is unreal. I'm also getting up several times in the night to pee.
Please can anybody shed some of their experience, appreciate its an embarrassing subject but it's a support thread.

Pebbledashery · 10/04/2022 20:14

So I've just finished the weekend off with a Turkish takeaway and a packet of malteasers 😅.. I feel like I've put 6lbs on.. I know I'll be straight back on it tomorrow. This is the 2nd off plan day I've had since Jan so hoping it's OK. It's time of the month this week and feel bloated and horrible, just wanted some yummy food. I put on half a pound this week.

LeftyLou · 13/04/2022 21:22

Another 1 lbs off for me this week. That is 1 stone 8 in total. I am still in the obese category but slowly making my way to overweight. Think I have about 5 lbs now to get there.

@Ohd3arm3 I am not sure what could be causing it but I know when I change my eating habits/diet my bowels take a bit of a hit. Especially with eating more fruits and vegetables. Dont worry about tmi we all do it. Smile

How is everyone getting on? Best of luck with weigh ins Smile

Carpediem15 · 14/04/2022 15:19

I am thinking of joining SW on Saturday as I have seen a joining offer on my fb page. Never been to a meeting but my friend explained it a couple of years ago and borrowed her books.
I have my Covid weight to get rid of, about 2 stone, and made up my mind to loose it so giving SW a go. I struggled using the books at home on my own so think I need a group to keep me motivated but keep reading that lots of people don't stay, just get weighed and go. Can someone tell my why, what is wrong with them, what is happy clappy, someone fill me in please. Do you still have to pay the weekly money to get weighed. Thanks.

LeftyLou · 14/04/2022 16:05

@Spacemonkey2016 forgive my rudeness! Welcome aboard Smile how are you finding it so far? If you feel overwhelmed by the amount you want to lose maybe focus on breaking it up into manageable chunks such as half a stone.

@Carpediem15 hi and welcome Smile the happy clappy is basically when the consultant tells of a person's loss and everyone claps them. In my group we are clapped for loss maintain or gain. Just for showing up and owning it so to speak.

Everyone is different. My group is great and the consultant is wonderful so I love going to group. It also helps with me self esteem been a very shy person. Some people on here don't go and stay at home but come on here to get inspiration. Try it out see what you think its not for everyone guaranteed. I hope you find the plan good for you though and best of luck Smile

Thanks for the welcome, I am going to go on Saturday but will be on and off those scales quick sharp. Not been weighed for months but have had to put all my clothes into space bags and buy a few bits a size bigger, not too many as I have so many stored but determined to get back in them.

Blondeshavemorefun · 15/04/2022 14:19

2 lbs loss

Very happy

Groups seem happy clappy

I do at home alone

GettinTrimmer · 15/04/2022 17:22

Hi everyone

I've been off plan for a while, can't get my head into it, my DM is poorly but now receiving good care so hoping to get back to it now I don't have so much worry. I had holiday booked for tomorrow as we were going away to visit family but plans now ruined as DH has Covid; I've stayed negative so far. All x'd.

I will go to group tomorrow and hope for the best. Lost 1 stone 8.5lb so far, 5.5 lb until my 2 stone award.

Blondeshavemorefun brilliant well done!

Carpediem15 All the best for tomorrow. I enjoy my group, first one I've enjoyed as the Consultant is entertaining and doesn't go round saying what everyone has lost all the time with the clapping. I've met some nice people too.

Spacemonkey2016 good thing about SW is giving out awards at half stone intervals...think ahead only in terms of next half stone?

Ohd3arm3 I have flatulence quite often, it was embarrassing at work as I kept running to the loo! Not so bad now. Are you drinking a lot of fluid in the evening? I have a bad habit of not drinking enough during the day then feeling thirsty in the evening. After drinking more water I'm up in the night....

Hi all, 1.5lb on, which can be explained by Papa John's pizza last night. Back to it. I've just tested positive for Covid so can't go anywhere just about to watch some comfort TV, avoiding the Easter Eggs!

OP posts:
Pebbledashery · 16/04/2022 19:31

I'm half a pound on this week too, bastard. Not indulging in chocolate this weekend, alas my easter egg will need to be eaten by my 4 year old.

Carpediem15 · 17/04/2022 03:15

End up not starting SW yesterday. There was supposed to be a free joining coupon in certain newspapers but went in 4 paper shops and could not find any. Messaged leader to be ask if she could help and got a No reply even after she had been putting up the advert all week.
Kind of put me off so didn't bother, will see if I can find one today as they are supposed to be in the Sunday papers and will find a different group as there are a couple near me.

Wilma55 · 17/04/2022 10:03

@Carpediem15 not sure you actually need a coupon? See this...

Thanks for that but these offers are for 12 weeks which I can't commit to but the 6 weeks one was fine. The coupon was a saving of £10 which attracted me too so will message the leader and see if she has anything to offer.

coronafiona · 17/04/2022 14:17

Can I join? I started a countdown last week but really not the best week to start with a house full of chocolate! I've been reasonably good but not expecting to lose this week which is annoying as it's week one!

Wilma55 · 18/04/2022 14:19

@Carpediem15 if no luck try Bella

Thanks for that - will get it tomorrow.

LeftyLou · 25/04/2022 14:49

Hoping things get better for you @GettinTrimmer 💐

I had a maintain last week after the long Easter Bank Holiday. I was very happy with that. Really want a loss this week. Not sure what it will be but really am hoping its something. Going to aim for a walk of at least 10,000 steps tomorrow and Wednesday before weigh in. Hope everyone is getting on okay.

@coronafiona I hope your first week has gone okay. How did you get on?

Wilma55 · 26/04/2022 14:24

A pound off today leaving me a pound above target, happy with that. Off on holiday on Friday in campervan so what with restaurant meals and cooking in the van I don't know what will happen.
Yet another new leader at this group!

Noshowlomo · 26/04/2022 20:30

Got this last week… and all I want is a tub of Ben and jerries now. I’m gonna drive to Tesco now. I need a tub!

That's fantastic :)

LeftyLou · 28/04/2022 13:24

Well done on your 1 lbs Wilma 😊
I was also a 1 lbs down this week. That takes me to 1 stone 9 in total over 5 months and 1 week. 5 lbs away from 2 stone. Would like that before June.

hope everyone is doing okay. * *

GettinTrimmer · 02/05/2022 11:13

Hi all, have been out of action for a while, had Covid, then distracted etc....have gained 3.5lb. Oh well.

I am logging every single thing I eat, staying on plan all week, apart from Friday; have an afternoon tea spa booked with a friend. Got to be done!

Noshowlomo Very well done on your 1.5 stone award. I got mine a little while ago, but now I've gained my total is 1 stone 5lb, going to get there again.

LeftyLou Brilliant weight loss, well done! Everything comes at once, having a rubbish time at work too, but I am OK, the one thing I can control is sticking to Slimming World and getting into a size 14 dress when my niece gets married in August!

coronafiona welcome Smile I know what you mean about the chocolate. I hope you're getting on OK?

Carpediem15 · 02/05/2022 16:35

I joined on the 23rd and had the first weigh in on Saturday 1st May..... I could not believe it as I had put on 1lb. I did everything I was told to do, no wine, no chocolate, kept off the bread and no rubbish and this happened.
I wrote everything down, somedays did not have all A and B's and averaged about 10 syns.

What happened? Leader said to bring diary in this Saturday and she will look at it but to me it looks fine but I am not the expert.
