groovester naan breads are my downfall too when it comes to Indians.

My strategy so far is sharing - I find a quarter naan is enough so I don't feel deprived and got to be better than my usual full one, dripping with garlic butter.

Wetherspoons lunch for me this week - I think the peri peri skewer is 7 Syns so will go for that, or the five bean chilli.

Althou to be honest, I've had one completely off plan tea each week (not really planned, or plan not stuck to!) and have still lost. I'm aiming to be completely on plan this week and the next to see how much of a difference it makes to my weight loss.

A Very Odd Thing happened this morning. I made breakfast of toms, mushrooms, wholemeal hexb toast and poached eggs and halfway through I was full. And so I stopped eating! Dh looked at me askance and it made me realise how much I'd got into the habit of religiously finishing everything on my plate regardless of how full I was.

Well done on your loss fizzy!

TheImprobableGirl · 18/02/2017 10:43

Ooooh clash! I think that's a non-scale-small-victory or something... NSSV? NSV? I don't know! But well done!

TheImprobableGirl · 18/02/2017 10:46

In other news I am off to in laws and plan has gone to pot already. I have really had it out with dp about him not being supportive, when he really needs to stop eating and particularly drinking or he is literally going to die Sad

He gets through at least 8 carling cans a night, or 10 bottles of Budweiser, or 4 cans and 3 large bottles of eg cobra. He has done this every night for the last 8 or so years that I've known him and I'm really worried he can't stop. He keeps saying he will stop tomorrow but always comes up with another excuse.

gooseygander88 · 18/02/2017 11:08

Ah what am I doing wrong 2nd WI and only lost 1lb :((

loveslipstick · 18/02/2017 11:14

Brunch today! 1 syn for all four of them.... no S food but i'll just snack on S until dinner time....

Well done fizzy I lost similar in my first week and it has helped motivate me to keep on. My WI is on Monday and hopefully will have done my first stone. I have SO much to lose it's just a drop but will make me happy.

Sorry Improbable but that sounds like a drinking problem, how can he even legally drive the next day for work? That much alcohol won't be gone in the early morning when drank regularly . If he loses his license what impact would that have on his life?

It's just my husband and I tonight clash but we will share one naan (and make it a plain one!)
I'm looking forward to it. Planning a tandoori dish to minimise syns but I will likely have other naughties too.
A loss is a loss goosey - don't be too hard on yourself. Are you writing everything down?
That must be worrying improbable but he has to decide to change. My friend who I do SW with doesn't have a supportive husband and struggles at times. I'm fortunate that mine has embraced SW and the gym too so we help each other along.

WaitrosePigeon · 18/02/2017 11:37

Hi everyone,

Hope you're all doing well. I've been doing a mass spring clean so been really busy.

loves that looks lovely!

I've heard SW burgers are lovely so going to make it tonight. I've found a recipe but is there a particular one any of you recommend? Thank you.

00100001 · 18/02/2017 11:37

Yes goosey well done on your loss!!

BasinHaircut · 18/02/2017 12:00

PIZZA EXPRESS UPDATE!!!

Was just in town and popped in to pizza express to ask if I could still order leggera pollo arrabiata (the 6.5syn dish) tonight even though it's no longer on the menu and they said yes!

I'm ridiculously happy it's quite sad Grin

TheImprobableGirl · 18/02/2017 12:22

Woohoo basin !!

Yes I agree it is a drinking problem- he is a big bloke (6"3 and 19st+) so he is under the legal limit before driving (works 12-8pm, sleeps 11:30-8:30am give or take) so it's all out of his system...

Well he has hand on heart promised that he is going to show me that it's not a problem by not touching a drop all week- so we'll see what the proof of the pudding is!

B- pancakes Hmm will syn flour 6 so HEA milk and one egg
S- satsuma and melon
L- green Thai noodles with stir fry veg
S- hifi x2
D- couscous, paprika chicken and roasted peppers

ClashCityRocker · 18/02/2017 12:40

goosey my second wi I only lost half. Since then my smallest loss has been 1.5, but speaking to more experienced members, some weeks you do everything right and it doesn't show at wi - most times there's a bigger loss the following week.

improbable my dh drinks every night too Sad he doesn't think it's a problem because his entire family do it. He drinks less than your dh but is a lot smaller - 5'4 and 8 and a 1/2 stone (yup, he should've been a jockey....)

BasinHaircut · 18/02/2017 12:52

improbable Flowers for you. I know only
Too well the impact of excess drinking on everyone around the drinker and it's tough. DH's dad was an alcoholic and a good friend of mine's partner drinks to excess several times a week and it's not nice.

He needs to admit there is an issue and if he can, that's the first step. But you cannot help someone who won't accept there is a problem, you just have to do what's best for yourself xx

OrianaBanana · 18/02/2017 17:30

Trying hard to be on plan today

Alpen light bar while overnight feeding (half of HExB1)
B - shreddies and milk (HExB2 and HExA1)
L - Heinz lentil curry and rice. Apple
D - pasta bolognese, broccoli, mullerlight, red wine (4.5 syns)

S - milk throughout in teas (HExA2), light babybels x 3 (HExA3), Caramel hifi light (other half of HExB1), satsumas, smoked salmon

Hmm, not enough speed here...

hairypaws · 18/02/2017 18:32

3lbs off this morning, down 8 1/2 lbs in 3 weeks. Was hoping for 1 1/2 to get my half stone award so really pleased with this. I've cut out all snacking on sugary, fatty treats as I will binge if I have one thing, so far it's working for me. Well done to all the other losers and keep on it one and all.

WaitrosePigeon · 18/02/2017 18:39

Well done hairy!

Groovee · 18/02/2017 19:28

Well done Hairy.

Had a lovely meal out! Dh was howling at me telling the waiter I needed lots of speed! Poor guy is Italian he probably thinks I am junkie!

gooseygander88 · 18/02/2017 19:36

Thanks all for you replies, I beat myself up as others seem to loose more on WI and I've been on plan etc! Mind you feeling LOADS better in myself so really should just feel happy with how I feel & not what the scales say! I think it's just harder when you look & think "is that it!" But well done all on your loses SmileSmile mind you today has been a little off plan oops! Meal out with family however everyone needs a treat right ??!! I'll keep telling myself this to make myself feel not so bad about it! Back on it tomorrow Smile

WaitrosePigeon · 18/02/2017 19:41

Made SW burgers tonight, was very nice!

Slimming World support #2 2017
TheImprobableGirl · 18/02/2017 20:32

Lovely burger Waitrose, but where's your chips? Shock

Thanks for the well wishes everyone- it's a very minor problem compared to most! But I think I need to be a bit more militant with saying no until he breaks the habit.

Sw dinner was almost wrecked but has been pulled back with a lovely juicy steak and chips!

LavenderRains · 18/02/2017 20:34

Well done losers.
groovee DH was asking why I was going on about speed when I first started. I think he thought I was on amphetaminesGrin

Does anyone know what syns are in plain chow mein from the takeaway? I ordered chicken and duck with boiled rice but got noodles insteadConfused

muminthecity · 18/02/2017 21:35

Well done losers.

Waitrose - that burger looks lovely

Lavender - takeaway chicken chow mein is 24 syns per portion according to the app

I've had a terrible few days. My dad has been in hospital having cancer treatment and the stress and worry has got to me. He's at home now and things are looking up slightly, though there's a long road ahead. I'm trying to pull it back before WI on Tuesday. Today I've had:

B - banana and satsuma
L - Nando's butterfly chicken breast, spicy rice and corn on the cob (5 syns in total)
D - jacket potato with beans and cheese (HEA)
S - hula hoop pufts (3.5), muller light and 2 hifis (HEB)

Not enough speed but a big improvement on the past few days!

LavenderRains · 18/02/2017 21:46

mum sorry to hear about your dad. I have a bit of a clue how you feel as my dad had cancer a couple of years ago. It's such a worrying time and I felt a bit helpless. Best wishes Flowers

Chow mein is a lot of syns!! Mine were plain tho if that makes any difference

Today I've had
B;poached eggs on toast (hexB)
D; ham salad.
T; Chinese takeaway
snacks; mango(did i mention i love mangoGrin ) satsuma,kiwi,yogurt.
only used 4 syns on butter/salad cream
and if course the Chinese.

Shamoffour · 18/02/2017 21:47

Well done the losers.
I've had a good day despite dc4 being glued to me all day!
B-ff Greek yogurt, mango, raspberries and walnuts (half a heb)
L- lentil,bacon and tomato soup
S-fruit salad
D-chicken and spinach madras with cauli rice
S-raspberries, strawberries, blueberries with ff Greek yogurt and walnuts (other half of heb)
Syns- four small pieces of fresh coconut

Lulooo · 18/02/2017 22:14

Lavender, muminthecity, Orianna and Improbable, your meals sound good (despite the takeaway) and normal. Mine on the other hand, are about what a normal person would eat in 3 days. I ate a truckload of food today.

B: Pasta made with fish, butternut squash, pepper, carrot, spring onion and cottage cheese.
1 activia yoghurt
Satsuma
(Yes, I had last night's pasta for breakfast)

L: salad with free dressing,
butternut squash patties made with egg, leek and cottage cheese

D: salmon, rice, asparagus, SW coleslaw, Apple, clementine, 3 cups coffee,

S: options, 3 x lindor, cottage cheese (accidently bought full fat so I'm synning it)
Total 17 syns.

I haven't had my full HEX A or B, but I've had more food than I should have. It was.just one of those days where I laced about and ate like a pig from 11am to 4pm and then ate dinner on top.

I'm a bit despondent about not loosing too much atm. I've had a sneak pre-weigh WI and I seem to have put on 2lbs. I know, I know- I really shouldn't. But I did and now it's making me think wth, SW will work for others but it won't work for me. Need to get out of this negative frame of mind.

BasinHaircut · 18/02/2017 23:17

luloo come on you can do it! You were almost at a stone loss last week weren't you??

That doesn't actually sound like a huge amount of food to me. I have a massive appetite and have those days where I just want to eat. If you can get through that on 17 syns you are doing ok in my book.

I can't be 100% sure about syns today as I'm not sure how much oil would have been in my mushrooms in the cafe but it was 6 for extra slice of toast, 6.5 for dinner, plus bit of oil. So hopefully stayed within syns or thereabouts. Only had brunch and dinner too.

Just went to the cinema and didn't eat a single thing even though my friends had loads of sweets and a giant bar of chocolate. Plus they sneaked in ice creams from McDonalds which I absolutely love.

Tomorrow I'm planning a SW quiche and salad for lunch, and dinner will be salmon, green beans and rice. Also need to make one stuff for taster night at group on Monday.
