Anyone fancy a six-week challenge?

I’ve been doing Slimming World for a couple of months now and am currently 12lbs down. I’m sticking to the plan most of the time and rarely want to waver however the weight seems to be coming off quite slowly which is a little frustrating thought I recognise my regular wine drinking may play a role

I have a big, BIG event in May which is a five-day work event where I play quite a prominent role. The past couple of years I’ve felt pretty awful because of my weight. I want to feel as confident as I have to pretend to be, and it’s far from easy and I hate feeling the way I do when I'm there. Every year I’m determined to look and feel different but this year I’ve actually started to do something about it and I'm actually now feeling more positive that this year, I WILL feel better about myself.

So, I have six and a half weeks until I go, so any thoughts on what i can do to really drive this weight loss? In my head, I’d love to lose between a stone and a stone and a half in that time - what do you reckon my chances are? What works for you to really shift the pounds?

Anyone fancy a six-week challenge to really make a difference?

Hi!

Can I please join? I've just joined up today - have about 2st to lose.

Really have no idea what I'm doing yet but will be having a mad planning session this evening.

Congratulations on your loss Dreaming - sounds like you are doing very well!! Any top tips?

DreamingOfADifferentMe · 16/05/2016 16:00

Hi Mariqui, and welcome.

First tip is definitely plan - it takes a while to get your head around it, but I'm proof that if you really do it, it does work. In fact our leader has a great saying - if you kinda do it, it kinda works, but if you REALLY do it, it REALLY works.

Are you going to a group? If so, I'd definitely recommend staying to class. It helps if they're a nice bunch (mine are lovely) but you can get some great ideas and discover things you could do better or differently.

Good luck! Get reading that book and before you know it, the pounds will be falling off I'm sure!

Thanks Dreaming!

I'm just signed up online, so no group for me unfortunately. Good luck for your event

Well, I'm another 1.5lb done from my last weigh in, so have lost 22.5lbs before the event which I'm thrilled with. I'm still a long way away from where I want to be long-term, but this is definitely a step in the right direction. I've still got a couple of days, so am trying super hard to see if I can lose a couple more between now and then.

Where's everyone gone? Hope you're all doing ok and sticking with it?

Yikes it's like the Marie Celeste here, but I wanted to come on and update anyway.

I went to my event, feeling 100 times better than when I was 24lbs heavier and it was great.

So now I'm back, my SW journey continues. I've refocussed, looked at my next set of goals and am raring to go. The first goal is to shift everything i've put on over the past week!

Onwards and downwards (on the scales)

Sorry for disappearing! Well done on your loss, that's absolutely fantastic! Glad to see the event went well. I lost 3lbs in my first week, then put them all back on the next. Not ideal. No particular excuse either, just that my partner was away so I wasn't really thinking about it!

I'm finding it pretty ok so far, although struggling a bit with lunches. Work is fairly physical so I need something to keep me going, but don't want to eat a tonne of pasta salad and we have no microwave to reheat leftovers. Any tips?
