Anyone fancy a six-week challenge?

I’ve been doing Slimming World for a couple of months now and am currently 12lbs down. I’m sticking to the plan most of the time and rarely want to waver however the weight seems to be coming off quite slowly which is a little frustrating thought I recognise my regular wine drinking may play a role

I have a big, BIG event in May which is a five-day work event where I play quite a prominent role. The past couple of years I’ve felt pretty awful because of my weight. I want to feel as confident as I have to pretend to be, and it’s far from easy and I hate feeling the way I do when I'm there. Every year I’m determined to look and feel different but this year I’ve actually started to do something about it and I'm actually now feeling more positive that this year, I WILL feel better about myself.

So, I have six and a half weeks until I go, so any thoughts on what i can do to really drive this weight loss? In my head, I’d love to lose between a stone and a stone and a half in that time - what do you reckon my chances are? What works for you to really shift the pounds?

Anyone fancy a six-week challenge to really make a difference?

Hi all, hope everyone's had a decent day?

I've stuck to my plan with the exception of one skinny chocolate rice cake, five fruit gums and a handful of Wotsits, all of which I can syn and still be well within my syns for the day. Just making the Nacho Feast which looks and smells incredible. Bloody yum.

Sister, woah, I am seriously impressed by your lots of water, Pilates and brown rice combo of a day. That weight is going to fall off, I tell you! Keep on trucking!

Bendy my lovely, hope you're feeling stronger - looks like pep talks and the gentlest of bum kicks is what we're going to be delivering.

We CAN do this. More importantly, we WILL do this!

Started slimming world online beginning of October . Have done slimming world before about 5 yrs ago and lost weight - went so well managed to reduce pcos symptoms and got pregnant twice. So post children and a big family holiday looming back on slimming world. Weigh in on Monday mornings and this week got to 3 stone. But April / May is going to be tough as lots and lots of birthdays and family things happening so need to stay on plan for holiday and ideally lose another 1/2 stone in 6 weeks.
I was 15 stone and now 12 stone but want to get to 10 by December.
Also taken up running and just done couch to 5k to help with weight loss. I'm very boring with my meals as just want to cook something quick and easy. So breakfast is muller light yogurt and melon. Lunch in the week is 2xeggs, Ham and salad.dinner usually fried meat with vegetables, rice & large salad and an orange for pudding. Suns usually in the mayo on salad, and saved for weekend.

SWSister · 13/04/2016 06:35

00 15 stone to 12 stone is very impressive! You and I are now more or less in the same position then, going forward. I'm 12 st 2.5 and my target is 10 st 2lbs. We've both got 2 stone to lose. I love that SW celebrates each half a stone... 7lbs is a realistic and achievable goal to work towards at any given time.

Dreaming how was your nacho feast?

Day 3 and I've woken up feeling positive and focussed again. I'm going to do my 10 mins of Pilates and a brisk 30 minute walk, again, before starting my day.

Another EE day for me today.

Have a great day, everyone! Xx

Sammysmummy88 · 13/04/2016 10:37

Yes PICK ME!!! :) I started SW on Feb 12 and am down 1st 1lb so far. I have 6st still to go so a long way off!!! I feel this week that I am not so into it and need some extra support!

6 week challenge sounds good! I have a wedding in August and would love to fit into a size 14-16 comfortably. Thinking of mixing it up with a bit of 30day shred?

emmaluvseeyore · 13/04/2016 10:43

Yesterday went well again, even though I felt like rubbish all day. Had a horrible headache that wouldn't shift with painkillers :(

B: bran flakes (HE), milk (1/2 HE), mixed berries, lemon squash
L: Leftover risotto (1), Babybel (1/2 HE), yoghurt (5.5), diet coke
S: Apple, Port Salut (5), water
D: Spag Bol, water

emmaluvseeyore · 13/04/2016 10:44

Was meant to go to FitSteps this morning, but I overslept! Think I needed the sleep to get rid of the headache. My tap class starts back next Monday, so I'm looking forward to that after the Easter hols.

BendydickCuminsnatch · 13/04/2016 12:19

I have made a resolution to be kind to myself in all ways - positive self talk, healthy eating and exercise, etc.

Half a pound on today but I expected it as i had given up this week.

Gym this morning was good and I enquired about personal trainers so that's good.

My overarching challenge is to lose 34lbs in 34 weeks - holiday in Nov. I'm 4 weeks in and 1lb up from my starting weight! 😂

Thing is it's not baby weight, I've always been like this! Was actually rather slim (for me) directly after giving birth, then the post partum cake and biscuits period really got me!

obrigada · 13/04/2016 12:43

Haven't had the chance to read through the full thread but would love to join you in the 6 week challenge. I have just had my 2nd weigh in at SW and so far have lost a total of 6.5lb. I am afraid I will get complacent so look forward to the challenge.

JoanneCofton · 13/04/2016 13:55

Can I join? I have been doing slimming world for 3 weeks and lost 4lb. I haven't been strict at all and spent all of last week eating junk Blush but I have a holiday coming up in June so I need to crack on and stop pissing about

I am only 5ft 1inch but I way just over 14 stone :( I actually lost loads of weight a couple of years ago through strict calorie counting and got down to under 10 stone but I've put it all back on and a stone more

Anyway, I've just come out of a long term relationship and feel so shit about myself, so I am determined to stick to this. I haven't had anything to eat up to yet because I've got a sickness bug, but have been drinking lots of water and I'll post my food diary once I actually have something to eat

obrigada · 13/04/2016 14:24

Sorry to hear you aren't feeling well Joanne and hope your appetite returns soon.

00alwaysbusymum · 13/04/2016 16:25

Work is so hard trying to resist costa coffee run and cakes. But had a good day with muller light and melon for breakfast, big salad, 2xeggs & chicken lunch, apples and satsuma for snack.
Planning on steak, rice, fried mushrooms & Tomatoes and salad for dinner.

My dinners used to be massively carb heavy think 3/4s of the plate before and now I try really hard to only fill 1/4 with rice, unless we have pasta which I can't resist pasta Blush

00alwaysbusymum · 13/04/2016 16:26

Oh and I'm going to try and do 30 mins run tonight Smile

ThornyBird · 13/04/2016 16:29

I'm in but just fleeting past now to bookmark Grin will be back later Smile

emmaluvseeyore · 13/04/2016 16:42

Welcome to all the people who've only recently started SW. I've been an online member for a year now, so I'm hoping the newbies will help get me back on track. I think it's harder doing it online, but the group thing isn't for me!

SWSister · 13/04/2016 18:59

Welcome to the latest recruits xxx

I've had another good day - did an SP, actually, and am planning another one prior to getting weighed on Friday morning.

Did a brisk half an hour walk and ten minutes of Pilates.

B - bacon, beans, tomatoes
Clementine

L - salmon and prawn salad - leaves, cue, red peppers
Apple slices dipped into sweetened quark

S - hard boiled egg

D - tuna pate and celery sticks
Strawberries and sweetened quark

S - warm milk (HEXA) and 2 chocolate Hifi bars (HEXB).

Watched a SWorlder's YouTube video where she talked about writing a For and Against list. Wrote down all the reasons why you want to lose weight and all the reasons why you don't. I did it and it was a revelation. A revelation... Xx

Great day yesterday. My first week back at Brownies. Love seeing all their little faces :)

S: babybel (1/2 he), water

S: Cadbury Dairy Milk little bar (5)

Not much fruit and veg in there. Oops!

obrigada · 15/04/2016 09:41

Good luck with your weigh in SWSister, I had a good day yesterday but am guilty of not recording what I eat. Had a burst of energy yesterday evening (which is so unlike me) so cleaned out kitchen presses and even went for a walk.

Patterkiller · 15/04/2016 09:51

Can I join in. I started on Monday and have been doing ok. I have put on 15lbs this year due to an injury and not been able to exercise, I'm not massively overweight but I'm feeling those extra lbs and can't wear a lot of my clothes anymore. 😞

I'm thinking of adding a fast day in the week, I loved 5:2 and lost weight in the past, however I ate quite unhealthily on non fast days and I like slimming worlds bulk up on the healthy stuff ethos.

00alwaysbusymum · 15/04/2016 21:45

Hello everyone - hope your all doing ok?

I'm pleased I managed to get through a funeral today and avoided the buffet completely, and only had 2 glasses of red wine. Instead of takeaway I had left some slimming world pasta sauce made ready to feed me & children, so as a treat had two squares of dark chocolate. I'm hoping as I have only had a max of 3 syns a day this week, I should be ok.
Plus Thursday night went for a 5k run.

It really helped to avoid the buffet with the comments I received about my weight loss from people I hadn't seen since Xmas. So feeling really motivated.

Just find weekends so hard especially with socialising. Meeting friends tomorrow and usually that means park or walk plus pub for dinner with children. Sunday have a children's party. So I find it really hard to not eat out at weekend. Plus it's my birthday next week so would be great to have some syns for birthday cake or equally chocolate treatBlush

00alwaysbusymum · 15/04/2016 21:46
