Does slimming world work? And how quickly?

I'm desperate to lose my baby weight (3 stone!) So far have been calorie counting and trying not to eat carbs but I'm finding it difficult because I'm breastfeeding my 3 month old which makes me very hungry! Also it's difficult to find motivation as I don't have a to w to compete diet with. Would slimming world be a better option and has anyone lost a significant amount of weight in a few more baths while following it?

beadyboo - how do you stop yourself becoming bored with salad?

Blondeshavemorefun · 26/07/2015 09:03

Thank you bella total surprise :)

And thanks all for meals

Nandos - I never have chicken skin so is the syns for the rice or cheeee. Can't the A be for the cheeee?

Hang on, I didn't just have ham for dinner last night! Was either half asleep when I wrote that or my phone really ballsed up!
D - pasta with carbonara style sauce (made with quark. Don't use quark for sauces - it went really lumpy!)
Plus of course, a big side salad.

I do sometimes get bored with salad!
I try and make it more than just a bit of lettuce on the side. I shave raw fennel onto salads, add beetroot, multicoloured tomatoes, different leaves and herbs. Gherkins, chillies, a bit of fat free cottage cheese.
I occasionally use a few syns and add a couple of olives or a tiny bit of feta.
It's just about making it a bit different with each meal.
I eat a lot of veg too, but often fall down by eating a lot of free food and not enough superfree eg too many jackets and beans.

Lilla......

Go to topics and slimming world.
My thread is about food diaries and support 2.

I saw something with the woman on master chef the other day doing a lovely salad with shaved fennel and fresh mango. It looked delish!

Tesco do a pack of sweet and smoky beetroot which is sort of grated. It's about £1. It's delicious and completely perks up an otherwise boring salad.

I do not have a huge appetite but love my gin and slimline tonics. Do you think Slimming World or Weightwatchers would be best for me?

I have done ww for several times in the past, and to be fair I always lost weight on it (up to 2stone) I tried again earlier this year and found it really hard and hardly lost anything. Then I joined sw for the first time and have lost a stone in 6weeks. I use syns for g and t frequently as well as some other treats and its great because you can have those things and still have loads of choice for free foods. With ww I found if I wanted those treats then it left me little food left to eat xx

Dear All.,

New to this forum.I am a mum to two girls aged 10 and 2 years old.

I have about 4 stone to lose and need that extra push and motivation.

I am glad there are other lovely mums out there whom I can learn from.

Regards.,

PositiveMum

I have lost 2 and a half stone over the past 13 weeks! I've been taking it half a stone at a time, no big expectations as I have at least 4-5 stones left to lose and I don't want it to get to daunting. I eat eggs and whole meal bread for breakfast to help fill up, jacket potato with something like beans for lunch and lean meat with plenty of veg for tea, I have the occasional digestive in between and fruit. I drink mostly water. I have so much energy now I'm off the caffeine and sugar, I walk on average 6 miles a day now, I bought a Fitbit to help track what I'm up to so I can push myself if I can see I'm slacking.

As you can see it is possible to lose lots of weight on slimming world as long as you stick to plan. Write everything down.
