So I've been doing slimming world for 4 weeks and in the first week lost 3lb then 1.5lb then gained 0.5 and yesterday lost 1lb. I really want to go for it this week I'm going to log on this tread everything I eat anyone want to do the same we might get some ideas together:)) so yesterday bread option, 2 eggs and some smoked salmon, fruit salad and yoghurt, veggi chilli, rice and salad with cheese option. Syncs chocolate 6, then at a friends birthday about 5 peanuts and 5 maltesers think that's the rest of my syns!
Today banana, skinny coffee and alpen light bar. So far so good!

I'm going on holiday on the 21st May too! We are going to Spain and I really want to look half decent in a swim suit.

Mini eggs are my downfall, until I started SW I was eating 2 big bags of them a day. I love tiger roll too yum!

Iggity · 19/04/2014 17:22

Breakfast was porridge with berries
Banana pre run
Ran 10.5k
Some melon post run
1 gorgeous freshly baked rock bun
Broccoli, cauliflower, chicken and 1/4 can beans
1 apple
Dinner yet to be decided. No idea what the syns are in a rock bun. Was very hard to resist. That is the difficulty when you have a DH who can bake well. But I ignored the carrot cake muffins and freshly baked bread. I haven't had a rock cake in about 20 yrs and was worth the wait.

Am feeling very virtuous after my run which burned up over 700 cals. Aiming to run tomorrow pre-chocolate and on Monday morning pre weigh in.

Inspiration, I am going to Portugal with son, sister and mum. My sister has a great figure but she has always eaten well and exercised. I know I won't look as good as her but don't want to hide away in baggy linen trousers etc.

I'll check in again tomorrow and report on outcome if the chocolate massacre. Happy Easter everyone.

Message for the day:

STEP AWAY FROM THE EGGS!!!!

or perhaps more realistic:

accept the fact you might eat a bit of chocolate but don't use it as an excuse to completely fall off the wagon! Try to make other (non-chocolate) food choices sensible ones ie roast dinner - cut off the fat, load up on veggies, if you have a pudding don't make it worse by adding cream/ice cream and offer to drive if you're going out to save on booze overload. My SW leader also recommended choosing 1 (or 2 Wink) eggs then give the rest to the dog/kids/DH and eating all yours today so you can get back on the wagon tomorrow.

Happy Easter Wine

Midori1999 · 20/04/2014 12:25

I've just synned my egg. It's large Twirl one and is coming in at 81 1/2 syns with the twirls! I saved some syns for it so ste half last night, I broke it into tiny pieces and it lasted me about two hours. I really, really enjoyed it, whereas usually if just scoff the lot in about half an hour, wouldn't really even have time to taste it properly and would feel sick afterwards.

bantamgirl · 20/04/2014 12:47

I'm doing a fish week this week to see if all the S and SS fish as main meals boosts my weight loss. I do like fish so it's no great hardship

InspirationFailed · 20/04/2014 13:23

I fell of the wagon. Then it ran me over and burst into flames.

Iggity · 20/04/2014 17:14

Pouring here. Need to go for a run. No chocolate eaten yet. So far today:

Brekkie: grilled tomatoes, mushrooms and poached eggs plus one slice of toast
Lunch: roast chicken, SW roast potatoes, veg
Snacks: apple and few grapes
Chocolate: 4 mini dark choccy eggs (14 syns).....to be eaten later.
Think I will have a light dinner as ate too much at lunch!

Iggity · 21/04/2014 21:44

Another 2lb off. 5 pounds to my 1 stone award, 8 pounds to club 10 award and 11 pounds to target. Small steps :)

Iggity · 21/04/2014 21:46

And forgot food eaten today

Porridge with berries
Baked potato with cottage cheese and salad
Chicken, wedges and peas

Grapes, nakd bar and chocolate! No more choccie.

InspirationFailed · 21/04/2014 22:13

Well done! It's my weigh in tomorrow and I'm not looking forward to it, today and yesterday have been awful food wise.

Yesterday I had 3 Easter eggs and an Indian buffet - nothing else, just that!

Today I had 2 Easter eggs, 2 samosas, melon, grapes and some cereal.

I have broken the rest of the Easter eggs up and hidden them in the back of the freezer! I really wanted to lose 2.5lb and get my stone award this week. Definitely back on plan tomorrow, I feel crap for stuffing my face.

Iggity · 21/04/2014 22:28

Back on plan tomorrow, that's the most important thing. I didn't eat the 4 mini eggs after all...I ate the whole bag!
Tomorrow is a new day!

InspirationFailed · 22/04/2014 08:36

Off to weigh in....

aleC4 · 22/04/2014 09:35

Hi everyone, please may I join you? I am really struggling with sw at the moment. I joined in October and was doing ok up until Christmas, slow, but ok. Over Christmas i put back on all the weight I had lost and more :( It was so demoralising. I have really struggled since then and i think I am back to about 5lbs down which is so rubbish. I cook pretty healthy meals but I have zero willpower and if i see something I want, I'll just eat it. I know I have a problem with food but I am so determined to beat it this time.
I have been good this week but the weekend was a bit of a disaster as we were away at my parents and there was a big buffet. Not much of it was sw friendly but I tried to be as good as I could. My weigh-in is tonight and I am always disappointed. This is going to stop.
I thought if I start writing everything down here maybe you could advise me as to how i am going.
So, breakfast I have had 35g Special K, a banana and a cup of tea with a sweetener.

InspirationFailed · 22/04/2014 10:04

Your breakfast sounds good Alec Smile

I started doing SW last year but couldn't get into the right frame of mind and just carried on eating what I normally did, I kept telling myself that life was to short to not have a cake if I wanted one. This time though I really want to wear pretty summer clothes and not get sore thighs in a tent maxi dress. I've just bought the fake away book as I get really bored eating the same old stuff.

I somehow lost 2.5lb this week and got my stone award Shock no idea how as I have eaten loads of chocolate the last few days, I will have to be extra good this week though or it will go straight back on.

I want to loss 2lb this week who's with me xx
aleC4 · 22/04/2014 14:08

I just had my first attempt at slimming world quiche and it was bloody lovely! I used onion, red pepper, mushroom and bacon. I was a bit dubious because I'm not keen on cottage cheese but it was so tasty and lovely to have a change of lunch. I had it with a big salad followed by fruit salad and a spoon of 0% fat free yogurt.
I'm still a little unsure about some of the 0% stuff. I used Yeo Valley 0% fat natural yogurt and Tesco 0% fat cottage and cheese and just assumed they are both free?

Iggity · 22/04/2014 19:28

Inspiration! Well done on your award. Just shows you that a bit of chocolate doesn't mean no weight loss. Do you get actual paper awards when you reach a milestone? I got a sticker for my half stone and haven't seen anyone else getting certificates at my group.
Hi Alec, welcome to our little group. Writing it all down does really help. I am a Ripple bar addict so normally save my syns for it at the end of the day. I find the best way not to be tempted is not to keep the nice stuff in the house.

Today has been hard as first day back at work and working at home which I don't like as just mooch around thinking about food.

Brekkie. Porridge oats, berries and natural yoghurt soaked overnight
Lunch. Baked potato, cottage cheese and salad
Dinner. Singapore noodles (prawns, chicken, noodles, broccoli, red pepper, baby corn, ginger, garlic, soy sauce, curry powder, bean sprouts)
Snacks. Apple, grapes and a nakd bar plus one tiny tiny piece of easter egg. Also munched on some sliced chicken.

InspirationFailed · 22/04/2014 20:21

I would've assumed they were free to Alec.

Singapore noodles sounds delicious, I bought the Fake Away book today and am going to give some of the recipes a go, the fish and chips looks nice, I bought some cod today, but I need to get a blender.

I've been good today,

B - poached eggs, grilled bacon, baked beans
L - melon I am sick of bloody melon
D - tagletelle with salad (HexA)

Snacks - strawberries, blackberries, raspberries with vanilla yoghurt and an alpen bar crumbled over it (HexB)

No syns today, I'm going syn free for a few days to try and stop the chocolate taking affect Grin - I really did eat LOADS of it.

We get a sticker and a certificate in group, I don't stay for the meetings though so I got mine after I weighed in, I stuck it on my fridge as a reminder.

Was the quiche really eggy? I find a lot of the recipes from slimming world to eggy, although quiche is meant to be eggy isn't it, I might give it a try :-)

aleC4 · 22/04/2014 20:31

Thanks so much for all the welcomes - I did it!! I joined your thread and I lost 2lb! Thanks guys - my first 2lb loss in ages. I feel really boosted by it. Here's to another great week!
We get a certificate and sticker in our group too. You get them for every half stone and also for slimmer of the week. I only have 2 so far (1 for half stone, one for sotw) but hope to get many more!
I'm not sure whether the quiche tasted overly eggy or not?! I love eggs and I love quiche but I wasn't sure I'd like quiche without the pastry - I am a serious pastry addict.
I too bought the Fakeaways book tonight. I have been eyeing it up for a few weeks and decided to get it tonight. Weekends are the time when I really struggle so hopefully this will give me a chance to try out some more weekendy type recipes.

aleC4 · 22/04/2014 20:33

Iggity, meant to say, it's Curly Wurlys for me! I usually have 1 a day too.

Iggity · 22/04/2014 23:13

Am I really sad to want to be SOTW? I think so.
Since I have ran 18 miles over the past three days, decided to take a break this evening and went for a 7k walk. Popped into Sainsbos and bought a 7 pack of Ripple bars. I need to stop. Pre-SW, I never ate them but they just seem to have overtaken me.

Back in the office tomorrow. Less snacking and mooching around although hing lunch with a couple of colleagues so will have to miss out on lunchtime walk.

Am wondering if I can lose 5 pounds in two weeks as that would get me to my one stone off. Suspect the Ripples would have to go.........

aleC4 · 23/04/2014 08:49

Right, a new day. Last night I had pasta with bacon and mushrooms, 1/2 a teaspoon of pesto and a sprinkle of parmesan. It was lovely. Then of course I had my curly wurly!
This morning I have had the same breakfast as yesterday - Special K with a banana on, (with HEb milk) and a cup of tea.
Today will be tricky as we have a buffet at my in-laws tonight. I will have my lovely quiche with salad again for lunch to minimise the damage but they are not known for their healthy buffets! I know i can make healthy choices, it's just there may not be any!
I think my loss this week has definitely been helped by eating my superfree so I intend to keep that up.

InspirationFailed · 23/04/2014 09:30

Well done Alec! It really does give you a boost when you have a loss doesn't it, I've not been tempted at all the last couple of days because I want to lose next week too. I walked home grinning like a clown! I am going to make the battered fish tonight I think from the fake away book, I like the SW chips, they seem to take ages to cook though. Hope there will be something for you to eat at the buffet, think I would probably just feast on pickled onions lol seeing as they are free!

18 miles Shock wow. I did the warm up section of a DVD the other day and was worn out! I don't stay for meetings so don't know of I've ever been SOTW but I don't think it's sad! It's motivation Grin

Iggity · 23/04/2014 19:56

Back in the office today.
Porridge, natural yoghurt, berry combo
Baked potato with tuna and salad
Salmon, cous cous, broccoli and cauliflower

Snacks: banana and apple
Naught snacks: to be decided
Exercise: to be decided as raining!

I pulled last of easter chocolate out of cupboard and gave DS and DH 1 egg each (small ones) and resisted taking myself. Will need to get DH to hide the rest when I'm working at home tomorrow.

Alec, well done on 2lb loss! Inspiration, let me know how the fakeaways book works out. Our SW leader wasn't too complimentary about the fish and chips recipe!

InspirationFailed · 23/04/2014 21:33

It wasn't good to be honest, the fish was lovely but the batter was disgusting! Soggy underneath and it had a strange texture to it.

B - plum and tangerine
L - cheese omelette (HexA) with quorn sausages
D - Fake away fish and chips with salad

Snacks - alpen bars (HexB)

No syns today. I haven't eaten enough superfree either but have had my hands full with ds3 and 4.

I'm going to make one of the curries from the fake away book tomorrow, and avoid syns again, hoping that 3 synless days will make up for all the chocolate so I won't gain next week.

Iggity · 23/04/2014 23:20

Plus 1 ripple bar and running intervals on treadmill.

Wore a pair of trousers to work today which are a good indicator of any weight gain or loss and they certainly felt looser. A non scales victory!

Does anyone have a particular outfit they are aiming to get into when they lose weight? I have a pair of size 12 jeans which I can just about squeeze into but they are far too tight. I need to be about half a stone thinner for them to be more comfortable. I will try them on again when I get to my 1 stone loss. When I lost weight previously, I used to buy cheap trousers in a smaller size and slim into them. It was a good motivator!

Inspiration, let me know how the curry goes. I am using one of the Good Food books for recipes. It's called Super Healthy Suppers and is a great little book. Some recipes need a little adapting but overall, it's really good.
