Ive got weigh in tomorrow, I had a bad day on saturday and synned badly, but have stuck with it the rest of the week so fingers crossed, not hoping for wonders but will be pleased with any loss.
I am finding it much easier than ww too.

JakeBullet · 04/03/2014 18:37
Grin

1.5lb off.

Another 2.5lbs and it will be 2 stones.

DreamToSleep · 04/03/2014 20:38

Managed to lose another 4lb this week which makes 8.5 in total been doing it 2 weeks. Trying to fit in 'body magic' been borrowing next doors dogs to go on walks with.

You are all doing so well, glad this thread was started. I have quite a bit to lose so bit daunting.

Babydol10 · 04/03/2014 20:50

Hi fellow slimmin worlders, ive been reading lots of posts on older threads and finally decided to join mn and( if u all dont mind) join u.
My story so far is... Allways a chubby kid and teenager until i become a young mum. A mix of bad relationships, tight budgets and too much partyin meant i lost lots of weight and finally become a size 8-10. Due to fear of being big again and a v poor diet i stayed that size for about 8 years. I then met my dh had a serious knee injury and piled on 5 stone(5ft 2 size 18-20) i lost 1 stn my self, joined sw and lost another 1 1/2 but that has gone off and on for over a year now. Ive finally got my head around the fact that i need to loose 4 stn and then keep it off, i need to be halthy not just slim. Work commitments make attending a group impossible so ive orfered the books online and am goin it solo. I started on the 1st feb and have lost 11lb so far. Ive set myself a target of 3stn by august and final stone by dec...omg soz about the essay.

Only1scoop · 04/03/2014 20:53

Well done jake and dream Smile

Only1scoop · 04/03/2014 20:54

Hello Baby Smile

Babydol10 · 04/03/2014 22:32

Hi Only1, ive noticed that some of u are postin recipie ideas (i'll def b givin the pork one a go) so thought i would let you all kno what ive eaten today, any feedback would b welcome:
B- ham and beetroot sarnie (eaten at my desk) HEB and fruit
L- sw veggie and cheese quiche and rocket HEA
D- pork loin (no fat) sweet pot wedges and salad

S- fruit and mini ryvitta (5)
D- water, black coffee, black tea

I WI on fri mornings and like a drink so usually use 40 of my syns over the wkend on alcohol, the other 30 are split between the other 5 days, i do ee mixed with 1 or 2 reds so find it easy to go weekdays with minimal syns.

sublimecorpse · 04/03/2014 22:38

Welcome to those new on the thread and well done to those who have had great losses this week!

I've been on track today - used 8.5 syns so not too bad. Haven't been well so haven't bothered to actually cook which is a shame.

I've been getting a lot of inspiration and ideas from Instagram - if anyone wants to follow me pm me and I'll add you.

Keep up the good work ladies! Thanks

pinktransit · 05/03/2014 17:29

SW mushy pea curry is gorgeous!!
It sounds utterly, utterly vile, and it's only because so many people in my group raved about it that I even tried it. Even my dd2 loves it, and she's not a curry fan :)

1 large onion, sliced
mushrooms (not essential but I like them)
1 can mushy pea
1 can baked beans
1 can chopped tomatoes
Curry powder to taste.

Soften the onion and mushrooms in fry light with 1 tblsp of curry powder.
Add contents of tins, stir, and cook for around 20 mins or so on a medium heat.

You can also add chicken/other meat/pretty much anything else if you like.

It doesn't taste of peas at all!!

Quick, cheap and easy. I serve with Sainsburys 2 min basmati rice, as that's only 1/2 syn for a pack.

sublimecorpse · 05/03/2014 19:24

Baby, try this:

Red lentil and butternut squash curry - 1syn

Ingredients

Low calorie cooking spray
1 large onion, peeled and chopped
1 medium butternut squash peeled, deseeded and chopped
2 tbsp medium curry paste
1 x 200g can chopped tomatoes, drained but retaining the liquid
Vegetable stock
100g dried red lentils
Baby spinach
To serve
heaps of boiled rice
fat-free natural yogurt (optional)
Tip: If you prefer a less spicy curry, you can either reduce the curry paste slightly or serve it with extra very low fat natural yogurt.
Method

Heat the oven to 170°C/150°C Fan/Gas 3. Spray a heavy, ovenproof pan with low calorie cooking spray and cook the onion with the lid on for 5 minutes until softened. Add the butternut squash, tossing with the onion then cook for a few minutes again with the lid on. Stir in the curry paste and tomatoes.
Add the vegetable stock to the retained tomato liquid, until the tomato and stock mixture is up to 600ml. Add to the pan along with the lentils. Stir well and bring to the boil, then remove from the heat and place in the oven for 30-45 minutes, depending on the size of your butternut squash chunks.
The curry is cooked when the sauce has thickened and the lentils are tender but still whole and a knife slides into the butternut squash easily.
Remove from the oven and stir in a handful spinach. Replace the lid and leave to stand for a few minutes until the spinach wilts. Serve with the rice and a swirl of yogurt.

Meant to add - I use Pataks korma or tikka masala paste and you can add in some chicken or quorn chicken style pieces too. I also add frozen peas Smile

I lost 1.5lbs this week so it's now a total of 1 stone 11.5lbs Grin . Happy happy happySmile .

Mushy pea curry sounds vile but based on all the raving you folks are doing I am going to give it a go.Smile

How many Syns are the curry pastes?

PhoebeMcPeePee · 06/03/2014 11:55

Well done on the losses Grin . I tried the beef & baked beans hotpot featured on the SW website which was lovely & worth a try as portions were decent & my whole family enjoyed it. BUT 1.5hrs cooking stewing steak is nowhere near enough - it needs at least another hour preferably more to tenderise so we ended up eating really late!

In future I'll cook it for an hour without potato then a further 2 hours with potato.

sublimecorpse · 06/03/2014 17:32

Jake - the tikka masala paste that I used is 1 syn per tbsp

Babydol10 · 06/03/2014 22:41

Or shold i say offwards and downwards, weight that is.

isisisis · 07/03/2014 11:34

Sorry to hear about your grandad littledragon. Hope he's getting better.
Just back from weigh in, week 2 3lb off, 9lb total & (joint) slimmer of the week. So chuffed with that. I went out to eat several times so really wasn't expecting it, think it may of been carrying DD 6months around constantly as she's had a cold all week & won't be put down.
One of the meals was with my antenatal group, they're all proper skinny minis with no baby fat at all (if they weren't so nice I'd hate them!). My plan was to see what they were eating & copy but they all went for pizza so that didn't work out!
Everyone's doing so well & hearing from you all is keeping me on track - thank you Flowers

Babydol10 · 07/03/2014 20:46
