Sling for daytime.

Prop up the cot.

Get your partner on evening duty and go to bed.

Have you tried leg cycling?

If FF try paced feeding.

sI remember getting to the two week stage and feeling like I was on my knees. The change from no children to one baby is huge and after two weeks it can feel so hard. It will definitely get better, absolutely definitely.

Are you feeding with formula or bf? The advice might depend which one.

Is there any specific task that you can give your DH to help onboard him into parenthood? Motherhood tends to take women by storm but men can kind of sidestep it. Maybe if you can give him some specific tasks it would help?

I'm so sorry, I know these are lame suggestions and you are so so tired. I really feel for you. Someone smarter than me will be along in a minute to give better advice. Flowers
If it's any help, the baby will get control of its head soon, and even that small change will help a lot.

Also sometimes babies have colic because of what the mother is eating, if they are bf.

Might be worth thinking about what you are eating, and if anything might be upsetting the baby's digestion. Like spicy food or coffee or chocolate, or even wheat or dairy.

I have a very colicky 12 week old and we got a Ewan the dream sheep that plays white noise, omg it's been a game changer!!

Michah89 · 15/01/2025 23:18

He is bottle fed and I've tried infacol he's to young to try gripe water, I spoke to midwife about changing his milk to comfort but she's told me to hold off for a bit. He keeps saying he will help more but yet I'm still waiting 🤔 he is my 4th baby so I know what I'm doing but this is his first baby as my others were with my ex husband. I have shown him how to do bottles change him yet he's only done 2 nappies since he's been born 🙄🙄🙄 I'm lucky if I get 2 hours a night 🥱🥰😴😴😴

I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. That must have been hard. Wonderful that you have this new young fella as a rainbow baby.

ItsProperlyColdOut · 15/01/2025 23:27

I know what you mean. There's so much to do and it can be hard to just conk out on command.

Do you have enough magnesium in your diet? If you are a bit short of magnesium then it can be hard to drop off quickly when you do get the chance. There is a lot in brown rice.

Sorry, not sure if that is the problem really. Sounds like probably not.

Honestly didn't think it would help much but it really has! And gripe water when he's old enough, the infacol never worked for her or dentinox. But I was running on empty and so exhausted!! He's absolutely beautiful btw! And how annoying that they keep us awake all night and just peacefully sleep all day 🤣🤣

ItsProperlyColdOut · 15/01/2025 23:27

Sorry I don't know about colic, but happy to send sympathy.

RayahB · 15/01/2025 23:28

Get some colief. The most amazing stuff in the world. Pricey but worth every penny. The only thing that saved my sanity when my babies had colic

Michah89 · 15/01/2025 23:36

@ItsProperlyColdOut she was born 21weeks 😞 was very hard we had funeral for her. But I believe things happen for a reason and I would change my baby boy for the world 🌍 he's the most precious thing ever.

No, your husband does the house work and washing when he gets home from work.

Moon30 · 15/01/2025 23:42

Ewan the dream sheep was a life saver when my twins was babies, I am positive that he is the reason the slept through the night from 13 weeks old

No your partner needs a kick up the ass. He should be doing the housework as well at looking after the baby!

That's awful.

He needs to take some paternity leave and do his share of parenting.

What does he do to keep the home running when he's home, and what does he do with the other children? School/ nursery run? Bedtime? Bathing? Laundry for the whole family? Doing the grocery shopping or ordering?
