Rolling in sleep!

I'm a first time parent and have a little boy who is now 5 months old. From around 3 month he slept through the night in his crib, around 3 weeks ago we moved him into his own room into the cot. The past week he has learnt to roll onto his front but cannot roll back yet, I am not sure if this has came at the same time as sleep regression but through out the night he is now waking every hour and is very difficult to get back to sleep, once he is asleep he will roll on to his front and get stuck which results in his waking up crying, if he doesn't wake up crying he is lying face down and onto the mattress and this is worries me as he may not be able to breathe properly this is happening every 20/30 minutes. Does anyone have any advice on how to deal with this or is it a case of just waiting it out until he figures it out himself?

This is an annoying stage, one of many! There is no need to turn him back onto his back so if he is asleep leave him to it . There isn't much you can do about him waking himself .
