When do your kids wake up if they go to sleep at 6/6.30pm?

Just that really.

Please say your child's age in your responses.

Trying to determine a routine for my 2 year old that is transitioning to no naps.

3 year old goes to sleep at 6pm and wakes at 7am, he's always liked sleep (my eldest however does not like sleep).

Smogtopia · 30/03/2023 20:21

My 3 do between 11-12 hours a night from 2yr-6yr.

This has a slight fluctuation to it so they go to sleep at 7ish and wake up naturally 6.45-7.45ish.

If I put them to bed at 6 there's a high chance I'd have a 5am wake up 2-3 times a week

ladykale · 30/03/2023 20:25

7.30pm - 7.30am

ladykale · 30/03/2023 20:25

Age 1.5

Pastaf0rbreakfast · 30/03/2023 20:32

I have a 1.5year old. He goes to bed around 8/8.30pm and wakes at 6.30/7am.
So if I put him to bed at 6/6.30pm I would be expecting a 4.30/5am wake up.

He does have a 30min-1hr nap most days though.

Jojobees · 30/03/2023 20:34

3yr old. Bed at 7:30 awake at 7. Tends to sleep later at weekends when no one is up and about.

bloodywhitecat · 30/03/2023 20:38

Almost 3 and 3-4am (but disordered sleep is a part of the medical condition they have), goes to sleep at 6.30 no matter how hard I try to keep them awake. Has one morning nap of around 30-40 minutes at about 9.30am.

AnnaTortoiseshell · 30/03/2023 20:40

3 yo would probably sleep til 6-6.30 if she went down at that time. 1yo would have a split night!

Welshfiver · 30/03/2023 20:43

18 month old. Goes 6pm to 6/6.30 am

BCxx · 30/03/2023 20:47

My son is 20 months and goes down somewhere after 7, it can be nearer 7.30. He sleeps until somewhere between 7.30 and 8 the next morning. He was really tired tonight so he went down at 6.45 but he’s never usually in bed before 7. Hoping it doesn’t mean he gets up early

Lilbunnyfufu · 30/03/2023 20:53

If I was to put mine down that early they would be up again by 3am and not go back to sleep.
Ds 16 months goes to bed at 9 and gets up at 6.30
Ds 5 goes to bed at 9.30 and gets up at 6.15
Ds 4 months has his last bottle at 12.30 and sleeps til 6ish

yogaretreat · 30/03/2023 20:54

My son would be awake crazily early like pre 5am. He goes to sleep 8pm until 7am he is 4. But has sleep problems and takes melatonin

Soontobemumof2x · 30/03/2023 20:54

1year old, 6:45 PM bed time. Maybe wakes once for a milk during the night then awake at 6am. If she doesn’t have a milk maybe about 5:30?

Hyperemesishell · 30/03/2023 20:55

3 & 6 year old. Bedtime 6.30pm ish sometimes slightly earlier/later. Both wake at 6.30am

SpideysMummy · 30/03/2023 20:55

4 yo will do 6-7.30/8 given half a chance
2 yo is 6-6ish

granddadtumble · 30/03/2023 21:03

Thank you all for your responses.

DD has just turned 2 and some days she needs a nap, others she doesn't.

If she has a nap, bedtime is no earlier than 8.30pm. I always cap it at an hour but even then her bedtime gets really late.

When she doesn't nap she gets tired at 4pm. I've been stretching her to 7pm (starting bedtime routine at 6.30pm) but she gets so overtired that she has a rubbish night. Will wake around 7am.

My worry is if I put her down at 6pm that she'll wake too early. I don't mind a 6am wake up if she goes down earlier for bed and sleeps through.

My 9 year old has woken up at about 5.30 (certainly before 6) every morning of his life apart from less than I can count on my hands..... regardless of bedtime.

cocksstrideintheevening · 30/03/2023 21:51

12 yo Dts. Up before six every single fucking day of their lives. They could go to bed at 2am, still up by six. I'm the same tbh.

liveforsummer · 30/03/2023 21:54

My niece and nephew went to bed and slept about 13 hours at that time for many years from toddlers until about 8/9. If my dc went to bed at that time at any age it would have been a nap and they'd have been up half the night. So much variation you have to really go by the individual

Painful, isn't it?!

Someone on the school run was talking about their kids' alarm clock the other morning and it's just so far outside my experience with early waking kids. I can't imagine them ever needing an alarm clock....!

1 year old - asleep at 6.30 awake at 7/7.30
3 year old - asleep at 7 awake at 7.30/8

Meandfour · 30/03/2023 22:09

3.5yo - no nap, bed at 6.30-7pm, wakes between 7-7.30am.

granddadtumble · 30/03/2023 23:15

She went down at 7, but woke at 8.30 having vomited 😭😭😭😭

Hope it's just because she ate too much at dinner (she literally wolfed down her pasta) not because she has a bug.

I estimate a 6.30am wake up tomorrow, but we shall see.

Hope your little one is ok today OP and that it's not a bug. How was the night and is she awake?

Judgyjudgy · 31/03/2023 06:39

From 9 months, 7pm - 7am (plus 2-3 nap during day)
