Was sleeping all night, now not!

My grandson had been sleeping through the night, he was 1 in august and usually went to sleep at around 7.30pm and woke up around 6.30am.
Then he got a bug which disrupted his routine and even though he’s now recovered, his sleeping has not been great at night. He goes down fine but wakes in the night and can be up for two hours.
His mum tried him with a banana at bed as she’d heard that helps and he did sleep through a couple of times but still getting up more often than not.
Any suggestions?

Could he still be poorly?

check if his ears etc are ok? We only found out DD had fluid behind her eardrums when we took her to an ENT for a persistent sinus issue. She’s still sleeping terribly because it hasn’t completely drained yet but better than before.

Sorry, mine did the same thing at the same age. I had 8 months of it, then he went back to normal. Was very odd.

How many naps is he taking? If two he could be needing to drop one?

Loads of 1 year-olds do the split night thing though. There's been numerous threads on here about it. Mine has done it sometimes but never consistently and he'snot done it fir ages now (he's 22months). Ive read people on here having it every night for over a year!
