Sleep aids that DON’T turn off after 20 mins?!

Whyyyyy do all these baby sleep aids (Ollie owl, snuz cloud, Ewan sheep) switch themselves off after 20 minutes?!!! I just got DD down for a nap using her Ollie owl, she was staring at the light on his chest and listening to the white noise, she loved it, it worked like a charm. Then after 20 minutes it turned itself off and she pinged awake!! I do have a white noise machine which I use at night and stays on all night, but Ollie with the little light is really calming to her and I wish it would stay on… Does anyone have any recommendations for a night light toy like Ollie which stays on all night???

We also have Olliethe owl and it's so frustrating that it turns off after 20 minutes!! What white noise machine do you use that stays on all night if you don't mind me asking?

TigerRag · 29/06/2022 17:17

Not cheap; but Hatch do white noise machines (they have ones for babies / children) and you set how long you want the machine to run for.

The Yoto box is your friend here. You can get the mini one and it will stay with them for years as it does soooo much!

MarianosOnHisWay · 29/06/2022 17:24

We play white noise on Alexa

HSKAT · 29/06/2022 17:24

AVANTEK Sleep White Noise Machine

minipie · 29/06/2022 17:26

Marpac Hushh or Rohm

I had the hushh and pretty sure it didn’t turn off (that’s why i got it)

Might be possible to set up a wireless speaker in the room and stream white noise to it from your phone … not sure what happens if your phone rings or beeps though!

We have this one - MyBaby Soundspa Portable Sound Machine amzn.eu/d/746kdwL

APurpleSquirrel · 29/06/2022 18:02

We use old iPhones in our DC rooms with a white app. But it doesn't have the comfort of an object/toy.

mathanxiety · 29/06/2022 18:02

The BlissLites sky light is nice - projects drifting stars and nebulae around the room. You could combine it with a sound machine.

CookieBlue · 29/06/2022 18:04

Highly recommend a My Hummy! It can do 12 hours of continuous white noise or you can set it to come on when they start stirring.

Hugasauras · 29/06/2022 18:08

We just have a generic white noise machine from Amazon that stays on until you turn it off. I bought into the overpriced MyHummy stuff with my first and we ended up just using the far cheaper plug-in white noise machine!

Hugasauras · 29/06/2022 18:09

We have something like this, not quite the same but they're all much of a muchness.

Deal: Easysleep Sound Machine White Noise Machine for Baby Adults Kids Sleeping with Night Light 25 Soothing Sounds 32 Volume 5 Timer Memory Function for Home Office Travel amzn.eu/d/cMzKdzw

Buy a white noise machine on Amazon. Ours was £15 and has a little touch light which I use for night wakings. It's rechargeable and doesn't use batteries and stays on all night and every nap

GalactatingGoddess · 29/06/2022 18:28

DreamEgg off Amazon, godsend for us, about £35 x

ruralwanderer · 29/06/2022 18:36

Glow Dreaming - it's actually magic. My 3 year olds started sleeping through about 10 days after we bought it after nearly 3 years of 2 hourly (if we were lucky!) wake ups. It's been a total lifesaver.

Ardmano · 29/06/2022 18:51

Bloody Ewan the sheep. I hate the damn thing. So many frustrating nights predicting when it might turn off and jumping up to turn it back on asap as DS wasn't quite asleep yet.

bearhugs22 · 29/06/2022 20:00

Thanks for the replies. I just wish even the light on Ollie would stay on all night but it doesn’t. We have trouble getting DD to resettle after a single sleep cycle and I think it would be nice if he was still lit up when she woke and it might calm her? Everything says that babies don’t like it when they wake up with different conditions to how they fell asleep so why are these things designed this way!

@sleeplessinyork it’s a dream egg D8 I’ve got, it is good and I would recommend it!

Thanks, I’ve been looking for a projector but don’t like the look of most of the ones I’ve seen on Amazon, but this one looks good

Just bought the dreamegg for the same reason. I'm using it all night and has a light and it's portable so you can take it in the pram.

No he doesn't we have him and he stops after about 20 mins.

sunflowerandivy · 29/06/2022 20:11

Tommee tippee dream maker. Plays pink noise all night

jevoudrais · 29/06/2022 20:13

I recommend my hummy too. Loads of different settings.

RubertRoo · 29/06/2022 20:22

Definitely MyHummy!!

WobbleHead · 29/06/2022 20:51

We’ve got a Meross Cherub Baby Machine which connects to our wifi and we can control it via apps on our phone - it does light in different colours and brightnesses plus white noise and lots of other noises and sounds. It’s on all night and for naps and it’s good being able to turn it up or down or off without having to go to it.
