Sleep aids that DON’T turn off after 20 mins?!

Whyyyyy do all these baby sleep aids (Ollie owl, snuz cloud, Ewan sheep) switch themselves off after 20 minutes?!!! I just got DD down for a nap using her Ollie owl, she was staring at the light on his chest and listening to the white noise, she loved it, it worked like a charm. Then after 20 minutes it turned itself off and she pinged awake!! I do have a white noise machine which I use at night and stays on all night, but Ollie with the little light is really calming to her and I wish it would stay on… Does anyone have any recommendations for a night light toy like Ollie which stays on all night???

If it's just a night light your after, we've got this one - babymoov squeezy sensory soft touch. It's stays on all night and the battery lasts really well and you can have it plugged into the mains if you want to. Found it really useful when DS was older too.

You need a MyHummy 👍🏻

Hi @bearhugs22 I'm having exactly the same issue with Ollie the Owl. Works like a charm, but only for 20 minutes! How did you get on in the end? Anything you'd recommend? Thanks!

Hi @Sorbustree123! I just ended up using my white noise machine, mine is a dreamegg from amazon. I looked at loads of white noise toys but they all turn off after a certain amount of time. The dreamegg is great and plugs into the wall too so don’t need to worry about batteries. My DD is 1 now and we still use it :)

My Hummy stays on for 12 hours! My dd is now 2 1/2 and has slept with hers every night from birth.

The gro egg! Longest it can be on is 90 minutes. Saved our life with our newborn, still use it at 6 months to be honest

@Blizy this is from the myhummy website “myHummy plays sounds for 60 minutes and then gradually fades out. After that, the models featuring the Sleep Sensor go into stand-by mode in which the sound comes on again if the baby starts to stir or if there is an increase in background noise.”
Doors yours definitely play for 12 hours? Maybe the older models stayed on longer!

Combination of cheap mains white noise machine and red/orange led lamp worked for us (and still use it now he’s nearly 4!)

I also have a daylight alarm clock which I think could work as you can set the sounds to run for however long you like and have the light as bright or as din
as you like (or off). Mine was a cheap one so doesn’t have many sounds (waves, crackling fire or crickets to fall asleep to) but there’s probably one out there that has a basic white noise option

Many thanks for the update @bearhugs22 and others for their suggestions.

We use a Google Nest Mini and YouTube. There’s loads of white noise videos that are 18+ hours long, and you can control it from your phone.

For the nightlight we use a Hue bulb in a normal lamp - dimmable, can change the colour & again controlled from your phone.

Can I ask how you get the dream maker to stay on all night? Do you need the cry sensor turned off? I can only ever get it to play for a period of time then it turns off until there is a noise and it turns back on again. Would love to be able to get it to play continuously
