Hello all,

amber, and for you night from hell, I hope you have a better day.

CM + clairey, I know how this is - all my mates have 'easy' babies and I have been driven bonkers by their advice (don't pick her up the second she stirs, really, I never would have figured that out! ) I am the queen of smiling and nodding.

Well, being a napless wonder had no real effect on LO's nighttime sleep. She was v v v skrikey from 2pm onwards and putting her down was exhausting emotionally, lots iof screaming. So, I don't recommend leaving out naps as a strategy!

Clocks changing had no impact whatsoever - she goes down at 7 + is up at 6 but what happens in between is random and anyone's guess. Lack of consistency was helpful for once I guess.

Last night was cope-able, I hope everyone had better nights.

Tamdin · 29/10/2007 07:41

EP yay for your night. so pleased for you. you deserve it for being so patient!

amber hope your night was ok. you deserve the break too!

our night was crappolla.
ds's cold is not getting any better and i think it may have developed into tonsillitis again.
doc said he has large tonsis and will rpob get repeat infections until eventually he needs them out
he went to bed at 8.30 (9.30 old time) so thought he'd be knackered but woke at 3.30 and didn't go back to sleep until 5.30 and then woke at 6.15.
In hindsight i should have gotten up and got him some nurofen or medised but i kept thinking he would go back to sleep.
only good thing is he was in good form for his 2 hour waking.
we're all tired today and dh has just left for work.
he has to visit a client in enniskillen which is a 2 hour drive from us!

sorry for long post!

tibsy · 29/10/2007 08:24

morning all!!!

ginger - bike ride sounds lovely. i broached the idea with dp, but he wasnt very keen roads around here are pretty crap tho and cycle tracks are pretty non existent too.....oh to be in holland

EP - that was a sleeptastic night, drugs or no. you bloody well deserve it lovely. more of those little man!!

chibi - for your copeable night. clocks going back didnt make much diff to the time dd went to bed or woke either....its the inbetween stuff that changes

tam for your night and poor lo. tonsilitis really is the pits hope you manage to get some rest today.....poor dh and his 2 hr drive tho

our night was restless,
*bed at 7pm
i went to bed at 8.30 and read in bed with a torch!! (how old am i?)
*dd restless from 9pm, not awake just crying and thrashing about
*woke at 3.30 - 4.45 (my fault tho as i refused to give her anything but water as shes been doing so well recently {[hard mama emoticon]
*woke at 5.50am for milk
*woke at 7am for day

amber hope you had a good one

tibsy · 29/10/2007 09:13

just booked dd's MMR for this thurs ...... not looking forward to the fallout from that poor dd

bealcain · 29/10/2007 09:22

hi all,

tibsy - hmmmm MMR - fun!

tam - how old is LO? when's the earliest they'll take them out?

Chibi - glad your night was ok. i also am queen of smile and nod! i;ve come to realsie that if you dont make out its a bad thing they dont sleep through, then people dont know what to say!

ginger - i want a bike ride like yours!!

well for our night - went down at 6 - new time, woke at about 9ish for dummy and cuddle. then next i heard from him was 4:30 for dummy, then 4:50 for milk and then slept from 5 till about 6:30, so all in all not too bad. DS1 woke at 4 though, but then went back til 6.

EffiePerine · 29/10/2007 09:24

Tibsy: DS's MMR also due next week . BUT it's be a relief not to have to worry about measles for a while.

Tam: sorry you had a bad night and DS is poorly agfain . I know what you mean about lying in bed thinking 'I shoud really get up and do something but he's just about to go back to sleep'. If he isn't in too much pain, could it be something developmental on top of the cold?

Chibi: glad you had a better night

EffiePerine · 29/10/2007 09:24

x-post Bealcain: a better night for you as well . Trust us to have improved nights after the clocks changed!

MegBusset · 29/10/2007 09:35

Morning all and hi EP

Sounds like some good nights out there! Must be something in the water, ours was good too:

Bed 7.30 (gave Nurofen around 8 as was v unsettled)
Woke 2.30 (wouldn't settle so fed and gave more Nurofen)
Woke 5.45 (fed in hope of getting back to sleep as TOO EARLY for me to get up)
Woke 7.45

Hello all I am so pleased to hear some of you are having bearable nights. . Sorry to hear from those who are still struggling .

Ginger I too would like to get a bike and child seat so we can go on family rides as Dh has a bike and ds1 is getting really good on hios bike to. We're thinking of getting DD a bike for her birthday when she turns 3 but I am wondering if she'll be a tad too young.

It seems someone up there doesn't like me very much (Wry smile emoticon).
Ds2 has got worse since seeing the CO. Not sure whether to blame that as it may have been on the cards anyway.

Last night. Settled himself to sleep just before 7 and slept untill........12.45.

But then awake at 2 ish, 4ish, 5, and 6.

Trying to phone Dr, but permenantly engaged and nice sympathetic Doc is off sick all week. Aaaaaaaargh!

Actually surprisingly I'm not feeling too bad, but Dh has gone away until thurs. so we will see.

bealcain · 29/10/2007 09:46

Charlie for your nights and DH going away, you know we're here if you need some support. i totally sympathise being on your own for that long DF goes away for long periods too

charliemama · 29/10/2007 09:50

It wouldn't be so bad, buit it's to play in a bloody badminton comp. for work! (he's in the armed services). It's not all bad though my mum recently moved nearby so she's coming to help in the evenings/bedtime.

Have just booked appointment with locum at 5.03pm. Can I be that precise?!

bealcain · 29/10/2007 09:51

you can but the dr's cant when you get there!! lol

bloody men!! wen do you get go and play in your badminton comp for 4days?????

charliemama · 29/10/2007 09:55

Interseting mental image of me sleeping in corner of badminton court for 4 days!

In Feb he's going to play cricket for 2 weeks. In KENYA! This involves 5 days of cricket and the rest being a tourist. .

tibsy · 29/10/2007 12:23

EP very true. the thought of measles scares the life out of me too

Meg for your night. theyre getting better and better!

charlie for the first part of your night, 7 til 12.45 is a good stretch lovely. good luck at the docs. glad your mum able to lend a hand when dh away. am also very of the trip to kenya. my folks went a couple of years back and had a fab time again!!

Beal - that was a good night too. yay lo's!!! more of the same please!!

EffiePerine · 29/10/2007 12:39

OP posts:
Amberjee · 29/10/2007 15:10

i love the pic.

we had a slightly better night last night. okay a lot better. a 1 hour waking. and a brief wimper that i didn't get up for. and a 6.30am rise.

ep, let me see how dp is feeling tomorrow and whether he's going back to work. i've postponed my hospital appointment for 2 weeks because things are just too mental and i don't have the head space at the moment, so could potentially have wed free ...

bealcain · 29/10/2007 16:00

sorry!

he looks well cute!
trying to sort out leaving my DF....so much stuff to sort out! grrrr

EffiePerine · 29/10/2007 16:01

bealcain · 29/10/2007 16:02

no not really

EffiePerine · 29/10/2007 16:04

So sorry . Is it anything specific or have things just come to a head?
