9 month old dd killing me by not sleeping
She has silent reflux but refuses to take medication and infant Gaviscon does not work, which is the only thing she takes. I hate my life, soon DP and I will split up over this, god knows how I can hold on to my job. I feel sick during the day and my anxiety in the evening and at night is crippling. She has 1 nap during the day and that is it. How the fuck do people manage???? It will pass, but it will kill me first!!
Just venting really - I know there is nothing I can do but wait it out. Or die- which right now is the preferable option.

My son was on special medication for his medical problem. I made him take it. He didn't want to ithe was life or death. Held nose and down it went. My son didn't get to refuse it. You've got to do what you've got to do sometimes. I didn't make a big fuss about it but that medicine had to go down he did not get the choice.

Re taking the Omeprazole - could you ask for non dispersible capsules? They are plastic and have tiny white balls in them. They can be opened up and given to babies that are weaned, with the balls put in things like yoghurt and fruit purée and not even noticed. The dose is a bit of a faff as the tablets come in 20mg, which may be more than your baby’s dose. My DD’s paediatrician said that is what she did for her own baby. Might be worth a shot as it can be really effective medicine. Hope it gets easier for you.Flowers

I think I am caught in a sleep regression/teething/reflux nightmare. Every 40 minutes tonight and now she's awake and playing happily in my bed. It's 2.30 ffs!!
The doc did give us the omeprazole in tablet format (I hadn't asked for it, the prescription was at the chemist when I went for other things!??) Let's see if it helps.
Thank You again for your kind words and suggestions. It's good to known I can rant at this hour to people who understand. I am just so tired that I don't have the energy to even play with her during the day. We sit on her mat and I just zone out. I'm kind of glad for the lockdown so I don't feel guilty for not Taking her to activities. We used to swim and go to groups but now I don't have the energy to get dressed some days!

Update!
We are on omeprazole tablet broken in her cereal in the morning, which she takes! I have also stopped feeding every time she wakes up in the night. My mum suggested looking at alkaline and acid foods and combining more alkaline foods/less acid foods in the afternoon and evenings. Result: after 4 days of this she went down at 7pm, woke at 9 (had milk - couldn't settle her without), 11 (no milk), 3 (milk) and 7.20 am. I feel like I have won the lottery. I can function and I am actually being nice to my DP. Grin if this carries on in will look at your suggestions for sleep training so she can fall asleep without being cuddled... there is hope!!!
Thank you all! Flowers

We coslept, only way mine would sleep. Dd grew out of her reflux by 9 months but I tricked her into taking medication with strawberry yogurt from around 6 months, before that she took it
