  • I wish.

Morning all,

Hope you find this!

for your rough night Amber.

After a few good ones, we had a crap one too. Up at 1.30, 3, 4.30, 5.30, 6.15........
I think she was a bit overtired last night. Hope we can get her napping better today .

So how were all your nights?

Aha! I've seen that one but didn't peg it as a child-friendly place. Did you say it did activities or am I imagining that?

I've been to the French cafe and it is lovely

wolfmama · 11/10/2007 16:42

Excuse the Americanism, but 'my life just got a whole lot better' really fits. The certificate I've been waiting for in order to start work has just arrived by email and I've contacted my employer to set me up as from tomorrow. It feels great, after the terrible feeling of letting people down I've had for the past week. Shame it comes at a time when I'm half wishing I was a sahm. I really admire you guys. I don't think I could hack it actually, but it would allow me to do more of the things which fit in with my parenting ideals.

re breast lump - yes, they say that none of the tests are in any way conclusive in a lactating breast and they need a full 3months with no lactation at all before they can do anything. Obviously if there was anything suspicious at all about the lump, I would do the unthinkable and forde ds to stop bf, but uckily this is not the case. For anyone who's interested, the most significant thing to worry about is any change in a lump. So the fact that I've had mine for 12 months and it's no different, is great.

wolfmama · 11/10/2007 16:45

at your baby cafe chat. Used to go to a good one near my mum's when I was on maty leave bu for obious reasons, can't go any more. Enjoy and encourage on my behalf all of you who are lucky enough to have one within reachable distance.

Amberjee · 11/10/2007 17:37

yep, activities too

Tamdin · 11/10/2007 21:09

oh look there's a sleep fairy that comes to 'the place on the corner' the last sunday of every month. perhaps she could solve all our problems

Looks fantastic though. very that it isn't near me!

Amberjee · 11/10/2007 21:11

yeah the sleep fairy makes me laugh. i think we could all give her a run for her money!
maybe she would sprinkle her magic fairy CC dust

Tamdin · 11/10/2007 21:15

indeed!

tibsy · 12/10/2007 08:02

morning all!!
skirmish, i cant believe i'm first up

our night ok, dd didnt go to bed til 7.15pm, despite having only 30 mins nap
woke at 11.30pm, just rubbed her back to get her back to sleep (holding back on the boob!)
woke at 2.30 for boob
up at 6.50am
not too shabby!!

hope there were some good uns out there... just wanted to add

wolfmama - good luck my love in both the sleeping and with the lump.... and a big good luck to your dh am really pleased you finally got your paperwork thru!! all good news, yey

tibsy · 12/10/2007 08:02

ooops and forgot to say, off to visit my nan today, so will have to catch you all later x

Tamdin · 12/10/2007 08:06

morning tibs. for your good night

ours good too
asleep at 7.30 (lifted into cot)
woke at 10 (when we went to bed)
woke at 6.50 for the day

skirmish · 12/10/2007 08:08

morning ladies

been busy in here - see what happens if you miss a day, it's too much for my pg brain to cope with!

another good mornign - up at 6.55am (determined to get him til 7am!) Heard him murmur at 5, at a few little cries on and off from 6 but nothing major, and he must have gone back to sleep (really must get up one of these morning and see if he really is asleep, or just very quietly playing )

If only we could get him to go down for his naps and stay asleep as easily

welcome fatslag

chibi - try not too doubt yourself - like someone else said, i'm sure people lie about how good their babies are at sleeping - if in doubt, ask them over for dinner - guarantee the lo will not sleep well and they will say it is cos he/she is not in own bed etc etc - gives me confidence anyways!! we are always here too

hope everyone else had good nights and lots of lovely things planned for today - our turn to feed the ducks (at bodium castle no less )

skirmish · 12/10/2007 08:09

x post with tibs - think i beat you. was just typing my mammoth post!

formerlyknownasfatslag · 12/10/2007 08:15

Good morning!

A good night here in the back of the Ford Capri. ds2 in bed at 8 pm, yelled at 1 am (better than midnight!), inserted dummy, woke at 3.15 am for boob, growled at 6.15, up at 7.30. Meanwhile ds1 after days of threats, bribes and pleading woke up at 6.15 because of the growl, peed, and STAYED IN HIS BEDROOM UNTIL 7.00!

If I can get ds1 to leave me alone until 7, half my problems will be over.

Thank you for the warm welcome, btw

Tamdin · 12/10/2007 08:18

morning skirmish and FS. skirmish for your nearly 7 start! and same to FS...ds2 did very well to stay in own room until 7

Tamdin · 12/10/2007 08:19

meant ds1 obviously!

skirmish · 12/10/2007 08:20

so everyone so far had a good night (i won't mention the massive screaming attack ds had at 8pm - we'll just blame teeth and disregard it i think!)

EffiePerine · 12/10/2007 08:27

FFS: sounds liek a good night . We managed to stay in bed till about 8, though DS woke up at 7:15. Tried burying my head under the duvet to fool him into going back to sleep, but he pulled the covers back and grabbed my nose to turn my head around - does he think I am a horse?

Another very unsettled night - he refused to go back to sleep at about 10 and was ratehr hot, so I gave him some Calpol which seemed to help. I am thinking of working onthe night feeds at some point, but can't see it working while he's on bed with us most of the night. Did suggest to DH that I camp out on teh sofa for a few nights and he deal with the night wakings but he wasn't keen .

Tam: hope that pattern continues! 10pm to 6:50am sounds great!

Tibs: sounds like your nights are slowly improving as well

Wolfmama: well done on getting your paperwork through. I work 4 days a week (off today, hence the cafe!). I will report back - planning on getting there for storytime if I can.

EffiePerine · 12/10/2007 08:28

Sorry to break the positive pattern Skirmish. I reckon DS was awake at least 5 times - I lost count...

Tamdin · 12/10/2007 08:36

EP hang in there it's classic growth spurt, teeth and separation anxiety time at 1 year. I remember very clearly ds being like that around his first birthday.
Hope story time is good.

EffiePerine · 12/10/2007 08:41

Thanks for that, Tam . It certinaly feels like a growth spurt - how I hate them

MegBusset · 12/10/2007 09:29

Morning all and for the good nights. EP, sorry yours wasn't as great but at least you got a bit of a lie-in.

Ours wasn't too great (woke at 9, 11, 1, 3 and 5) BUT I too have decided to work on the night feeds and managed to only feed at 1 and 5. He went back to sleep pretty quickly the other times with just a cuddle in the cot, and didn't seem too bothered.

EffiePerine · 12/10/2007 09:35

Well done on the night feeds Meg! We've just consumed a large batch of pancakes, the front room is a tip and I am still in my pjs - the joys of having a day off from work

Amberjee · 12/10/2007 10:05

ho hum, i'm joining EP's bandwagon. super unsettled night. a lot of screaming between 11 and 1, up at 5, 6, and finally 7. sigh, and i was super sick last night. feeling slightly better today. might go and lie down again though.

Tamdin · 12/10/2007 10:33

meg well done on the night feeds.
amber i feel like crap today too.
Think i have a chest infection. Hacking cough (attractive eh!)and feel like i can't breath properly.
Have to take ds to a birthday party at 11. His first proper invite outside family and friends and the birthday boys mum is lovely so I've put my face on and off we go...

gingerninja · 12/10/2007 14:02

for you poorly lot. I didn't even hear DD when she woke at 11.30 last night which is most unlike me. DH went and slept with her and first I heard was 5.30 when up for the day. Apparently she was very unsettled. I thought I saw one of the back teeth breaking through the other day but she won't let me look anymore so I can't be sure.
