Yes ladies we've got a shiny new thread to share our woes of chronic sleep deprivation, to hail all that is gloreous when something works and throw our arms in the air when it all goes wrong again.

One bad night doesn't impress us, we're awake more than we sleep cos we is 'ard I tell ya.

amber poor boobs!! mine dont tend to get like that now, guess its cos i'm not the main source of sustenance? i wonder if it could have been an all nighter?

Amberjee · 16/07/2007 09:33

now refusing nap
mum needs to go back to bed
sniffles and sore throat

tibsy · 16/07/2007 09:35

amber, poor you get into bed with the little tyke and have a nap together

Amberjee · 16/07/2007 09:37

i wish. the little one doesn't like to co-sleep. he thinks it means co-play time.

just waiting for him to talk himself to sleep. then i might read my book in bed for a bit.

tibsy · 16/07/2007 09:41

oh yeah, sorry, i forgot reading in bed? god, i miss that at night time, cant do that now cos dd in the room with us. wish dp would hurry up and make cellar into bedroom for ds, so dd can move into his old room

MegBusset · 16/07/2007 09:41

hello all, Mrs TH and EP sorry you had a crap night but glad there were some other good ones out there.

Ours was pretty good! Woke about 3 times in early part of the night but settled by DH with shushing, so I didn't really get woken until 3 when he fed then back in cot, then woke at 5 and in with us, then woke at 7 for a few minutes' cooing but drifted off to sleep again til 8

So he only actually fed twice in the night - at 3 and 5 - we both must have fallen asleep mid-feed at 5 cause I woke briefly at some point and he was asleep on his back, but I still had my boob in my hand pointed at him

meg and pointing boob in hand at bubs....... yey for your night!

tibsy · 16/07/2007 09:43

sorry at pointing boob...

Amberjee · 16/07/2007 12:29

hilarious all this talk of pointing boobs! another thing i found funny looking at the stats for our blog is that someone came across our blog by searching for 'binmen'. he he. i hope they found what they were looking for! i guess it was in reference to meg's post about the binmen waking chops up from a nap. funny stuff.

how's everyone doing today? i'm facing a whole day at home as don't think i've got the energy to go out. I don't think LO is impressed about it. but he's having another nap now. i've raided the freezer and i'm having onion bhajis for lunch and defrosting chicken curry for dinner. thank god for freezers. i sure am not a domestic goddess today.

EffiePerine · 16/07/2007 12:40

Amber: hope you have a relaxing day. Have been chatting with DH re the Sleep Problem and we have a New Plan.

  • DS to bed when he gets tired, not at set bedtime (think it may be too early a night combing with long and confusing routine as he just wants to play!)

  • I play with DS when I get in, rather than straight into the bath (off to Rymans to buy crayons and lots of paper)

  • fill DS up with lots of food and drinks during day (he's being fussy about food atm)

  • we RELAX and see what happens

As always, am reassured by the existence of a Plan even if it doesn't work!

BTW Amber am v impressed by your haikus. Maybe we shousl have a poetry corner on the blog

EffiePerine · 16/07/2007 12:40

combined

Amberjee · 16/07/2007 12:51

love your plans EP. here's hoping (with fingers crossed)

Anyway, relax and go with the flow is always a good plan!

bagsundereyes · 16/07/2007 13:24

In tribute to Amber and cupcake:

The runs disturbed sleep routine
Hope for respite soon

Amberjee · 16/07/2007 13:28

oooh poor bags' LO

bagsundereyes · 16/07/2007 13:33

Mrs TH and EP - Sorry for your crappy nights.

Good to hear everyone else has had reasonable ones.

Things have gone to pot somewhat here. In-laws visiting, baptism yesterday, visit to nursery today (I am somewhat in denial about returning to work ) means that any semblance of routine has disappeared. Plus dd has the trots, so is out of sorts, and requiring loads of moonlight nappy changes.

So 2-3 hourly wakings have been the norm....

Right, I'll stop moaning now. We've got some dioralyte, and it'll be back to the routine tomorrow. So she'll definitely sleep better .

EffiePerine · 16/07/2007 13:39

When do you go back Bags? Have to say I found it easier than expected . And if you fancy a London child-free lunch let me know (I work in Covent Garden).

work is not too bad
sandwiches in park in sun
then the phone rings

Amberjee · 16/07/2007 13:40

tee hee, love the haiku. yeah, when are you back to work bags?

tibsy · 16/07/2007 13:43

EP that sounds like a plan

Bags, poor lo but lol at 'the runs disturbed sleep routine' could be the start of a blues song methinks

amber, we're housebound today as well, and i aint liking it one bit, think dds a bit put out too.....

tibsy · 16/07/2007 13:45

cauliflower cheese nappy here
desperate for a coffee
bubba tired but fighting nap

Amberjee · 16/07/2007 13:47

what are you housebound for tibs?

i wonder if ds has got the runs too, he's just done he's 4th poo for the day . doesn't seem too worried about it though. i'd rather not be on overtime nappy duty though

did anyone find that when they started solids they pooed more?

Tamdin · 16/07/2007 13:50

ds driving me mad
won't get dressed making me cry
anyone for swap

Amberjee · 16/07/2007 13:51

Amberjee · 16/07/2007 13:54

Amberjee · 16/07/2007 13:55
