wanting a nap by 7am drives me crazy! just sleep in for gods sake!!

Tamdin · 28/06/2007 07:35

bugger of a night here. ds slept well 7.30-1 but after that was up and down. even when he was in with us he wouldn't settle and then got up at 6 for the day
so tired have a headache!

bagsundereyes · 28/06/2007 08:03

Morning Tam, Amber and Tibs.

! Sorry you have found yourselves posting so early! But Amber for only one waking.

Ok here. Slept 8-12, then 12.-2.30 for feed. Up again at 5 for feed, but didn't settle back properly - lots of mattress thumping and clamouring for the dummy.

I went to bed at 9pm so feeling relatively normal!

Amberjee · 28/06/2007 08:23

i love that you put next to 9pm bedtime bags - actually that is my usual bedtime!

bagsundereyes · 28/06/2007 08:38

Amber - I try to get an early night most nights too. It's just that LO sometimes foils my plans by staying up til 8 or 9, so I'm eating dinner when I'd really like to be tucked up in bed!

tibsy · 28/06/2007 08:54

amber, dd still going! sat on my lap bfing as we speak, so fingers x'd she'll nap soon

tam for your restless dawn

bags - it does help having an early bedtime doesnt it, mostly i try to resist so that i can have some semblance of a 'normal' evening, but just knew that last night was gonna be a bad'un!! if you cant beat 'em, join 'em!!!

EffiePerine · 28/06/2007 09:01

Well we all had a late night last night as out for dinner - not back till past 10pm . Still pattern of waking every couple of hours, but into bed with us at 2 and I think only one waking between then and 6:30ish and I got some sleep .

We're away this weekend at a wedding so hope it doesn;t unsettle DS further

If I don't have time to post before, have a great weekend all

MegBusset · 28/06/2007 09:03

Morning all. I would love to go to bed at 9 but usually just letting my dinner go down by then! Also at the moment the evenings are LO's most unsettled time so I'd be awake every half-hour anyway.

Our night? Not too awful, actually - needed shushing about 3 times in the evening (but not properly awake), then awake for feeds at 10.30, 1.30 and wide awake kicking round the cot at 4.45 , managed to calm him down by bringing him into bed and snoozed til about 7.

He was v congested and snuffly all night, but DH kept getting up to boil a kettle in the room, and the steam and bubbling sound seemed to settle him down.

tibsy · 28/06/2007 09:09

EP, glad you managed to get some rest. enjoy your weekend

meg for your not too shabby night

dd finally napping, so am off to join her! catch you all later

magnolia1 · 28/06/2007 10:57

Glad some of you got some sleep, It must at least make the bad nights seem not too bad for a while

Ds1 was pretty much his normal waking self last night
I did put a folded thick fleece under his sheet to make it softer but no difference. Is it ok to put a fleece on top or not?

He slept better on the leather sofa

gingerninja · 28/06/2007 14:50

Hi all, I'm at me Ma's so a quick catch up

Tapster I thought exactly the same about DC2. While you're not sleeping you may as well me totally knackered.

Tibs, we had a 5.30 start too it's becoming all too common. BUT we do have another tooth that has cut this morning so although last night wasn't too bad it does explain her very whingy behaviour. Tam you were right the other day

Meg, something about your DH getting up to boil the kettle in Lo's room. Lo must have wondered why Daddy wanted so many cups of tea.

Magnolia. Your LO is over one I think? in which case I think a fleece is fine although maybe he needs a leather cot sheet. Very stylish baby

gingerninja · 28/06/2007 16:09

Meant to say earlier about the blog. Should we put a call in for SIFTW graduates ie Pav and Cruise to add something about their story. They were part of the thread for such a long time. Seems only right.

Amberjee · 28/06/2007 16:13

i think definitely need the SIFTW graduates - to give everyone hope!

our naps have been rubbish today. started with the too early wakeup and made worse by having to wake him from nap to go to doctors appointment. is currently whinging in cot, way way overtired, sigh.

tibsy · 28/06/2007 16:35

hi everyone and ginger, we're teething in the tibsy house too her cheeks have come up flame red all of a sudden and she's now having a late nap cos we popped in to work to see the girls. hope that doesnt make for another crappola night

ah well, just early to bed for me again

i think the idea about the graduates is great, there was also maebee, marls, anyone else.......see, it does happen girls!!!

magnolia, hope you get a bit of respite soon. maybe you could market the leather cot wear if it works

Amberjee · 28/06/2007 17:36

aiiii, took LO out of cot, because he really got in a rage, fed him some food blw style, he had a lot of fun, demolished an asparagus spear and is currently quite happy despite having been awake since 2 .

surely there will be a breakdown before bedtime

magnolia1 · 28/06/2007 18:37

No ds1 is nearly 7 months so is that too young for fleece?

Not sure about the leather, Dh might get jealous

Tamdin · 28/06/2007 20:55

off to bed for an early night. again!
ds had 3 hour nap today and still went to bed easily at 7.30. has had lots to eat for dinner tonight too (has had virtually no appetite for a week-10days) so we'll see if two theories work out
1/ sleep=sleep
2/ sleep better with full tummy
hope there are some good nights tonight

EffiePerine · 28/06/2007 21:04

Just a quick one: gd idea re SIFTW grads. Will get basic deign sorted, work out admin and then put out call for posters if that's OK. Prob won't get anything done till next week now.

What is it with babies in sync? Teething here as well. DS at CMs for the first time this morning - amhoping he wore himself out

cruisemum1 · 28/06/2007 21:18

hi - just cruising the threads adn saw my name mentioned Ginger. I'd be happy to contribute to your blog (havent read that far back but got general gist of things). soooooo sorry so many are still having shitty nights. ds woke at 11pm,12am and 5am last night which is very very unusual these days. He has been really poorly and terribly clingy this past week so i am putting it down to general malaise. I feel shattered and honestlly don't know how i coped when this and worse was the norm. Chin up girls. Things can only get better!

Tamdin · 29/06/2007 07:50

hey cruise good to 'see' ya. Poor ds he must be coming down with something?

ds had his measles vac 2 weeks ago and has been off colour since then
seems bit better last day or 2.
napping well and going to bed easily but still waking and I don't have the energy to try and keep him in his cot so been in with us again most of last night. slept for 4 hour blocks so don't feel too bad but has been better.

Lovely sunny day here let's hope it stays

bagsundereyes · 29/06/2007 08:17

Hi all,

How are things?

Tam - glad that you didn't have a bad one, and that your DS is back on form.

Average night here. Slept 8-12 (woke for dummy), fed at 2, up 4.30. Then alternately grizzling and cooing until 6, and back to bed til 7.15.

I've tried co-sleeping when she wakes at 4-5, but she seems too exited by being with us to sleep - anyone else found this?

Bedside cot arrived today to replace the Moses basket. Will build over the weekend then start the transition.....

Meeting a friend for lunch today. LO is crap at sleeping when we're out, but once in a while it's worth the disruption .

Tamdin · 29/06/2007 08:37

bags have a nice lunch. Take lo out as much as poss at this stage as going to cafes and restuarants when they are toddlers is even harder. You've got the whole trying to get out of the high chair, throwing food/toys on floor and shouting to contend with! doesn't stop me though. ds could be a restaurant critic the amount of places he's been in

tibsy · 29/06/2007 08:44

morning ladies and hi to cruise!!

5.30am wake up for us again, i was like, 'NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!'
ah well, restless evening for dd, up every hour, then slept from 11ish til 2.30 then asleep til her silly-o-clock wake up.
ho hum, shes having a blardy nap now, put her in her pushchair as we're off to baby group at 9.30am. catch you all later.

tibsy · 29/06/2007 08:48

oh and tam, glad little man feeling better after his jab

bags - get out there girl dd a crap napper too when we're out. am very of those mums whose babies just fall asleep in the groups with all this shouting and crying going on (the babies that is, not the mums!!!) dd wakes at the slightest noise and shes always too interested in whats going on around her to sleep

Tamdin · 29/06/2007 08:58

morning tibs. for your night. she's been doing so well that a little blip is to be expected i guess. enjoy baby group
