Anyone still awake? I've just joined this thread. Ds (almost 4 weeks) just woke up for an 11 min feed but now wont resettle. I'm dubious to try and feed him some more because last time (his 0130 feed) I did that and he took on too much, had the hiccups and threw up with each of the first 7!!
He seems to be able to take on so much in such a short space of time. Coooletely different to my DD (nearly 2) who used to have to feed for actual hours!!!
Still the settling back to sleep process isn't quick. I'll be here a while now. The whole time staring at the Moses basket thinking of all the comfy positions I could be drifting off to sleep in, if I didn't have a DS attached to my chest!

AMagdalena · 13/11/2017 05:39

Been up for 45 minutes... DD wanted a poo and is now wide awake. She can forget walkies today

Toonewtobehaving2 · 13/11/2017 05:40

How old is your DD Amagdalana?

Jellybean2017 · 13/11/2017 05:41

@SaneAsABoxOfFrogs my DS is now 14 weeks old and I'm still counting it as a newborn (started the original thread when he was 9 days old haha 😊) you're very welcome to join us, think we all find it reassuring knowing there's others awake with us during the night feeds etc!

Jellybean2017 · 13/11/2017 05:43

@Toonewtobehaving2 I feel your pain! My DS has an aversion to sleeping anywhere except attached to my chest! It's OK at the weekends when DH can take him away while I catch up on sleep but the weekdays can be really tough!

AMagdalena · 13/11/2017 05:44

@Tonone 15 weeks! 15 bloody weeks and she's getting worse

Efferlunt · 13/11/2017 05:58

Wow it’s been nearly 4 hours. Amazed he’s let me sleep so long. Yes whoate getting started with breastfeeding sucks. I’ve done this twice before but he’s learning from scratch

HashtagTired · 13/11/2017 06:00

@AMagdalena 4 month sleep regression? I believe there’s a BIG development stage/leap around this time which pretty much resets everything to ‘newborn’ mode (clingy, hungry, wont be put downy)

Feed #2
Went 3 hours which is pretty good for this fella.

15 day old cluster feeding for the win! I wouldn’t have mind so much if he had just waited an hour until his normal 07:00 waking time but no, has to be 06:00 so I have had bigger sod all sleep in and this latest block. Arse.

PS based on the continent so an hour ahead of UK

HashtagTired · 13/11/2017 06:04

@SaneAsABoxOfFrogs join us. Don’t be alarmed by those of us rocking silently in the corner.

My ds is 10 weeks now. Not quite newborn anymore but we joined the original NB thread. Just come in and make yourself comfy.

I think this is us for the day now. He’s pretty awake. Dd will be up in30 mins so no point going back to sleep.

Third feed at 5.30. So consistently every two hours tonight. Yesterday he managed 4 hours between 1st and 2nd which was amazing. Find this final feed the hardest because I can't always resettle him.

WhoAteAllthePercyPigs · 13/11/2017 06:10

Yup same here Hashtag. Am hoping that DH will take her downstairs so I can sleep -if DS is in agreement of course!

GingerHanna · 13/11/2017 06:27

DS has now passed out on my chest in the lounge. He is wrapped up snug as a bug and my legs are cold! If I move I bet he will wake. Want to make sure DH gets more sleep as he is suffering with shingles.

Wonder if the cat will curl up with me and share some body heat?

HashtagTired · 13/11/2017 06:32

Dh leaves the house for work in an hour so I need to be up and dressed before then. So I’m ready for the school run.

Summon the cat GingerHanna 😂

OP posts:
WhoAteAllthePercyPigs · 13/11/2017 06:44

Ha yes get the cat!

Ugh. Every time I try for a cot transfer (when he seems fast asleep on me) he wakes. I'm actually looking forward to him being bigger, so that I can safely co sleep - no way we can do that just yet as he's so tiny.

I'm so fed up! As much as I love DS I'm also wondering why I thought we could do this again?? Sorry - that should be me, as DH just has toddler to contend wth at night.

AMagdalena · 13/11/2017 06:44

Hashtag Maybe. She suddenly stopped sleeping at 12 weeks after gradually getting better. She was doing 4-6 hr stints regularly Sad

I have read that high need babies (DD is a bit of one) take longer to recover from this...

HashtagTired · 13/11/2017 06:52

AMagdalena don’t forget that it’s 4 months from due date, not birthday. Depending on which book you read.

Waves @GingerHanna install a blanket in your lounge for future nighttime emergencies. I’ve got a single duvet in mine and I no longer that it makes the house look untidy.

We have been up since 6.30. DD seems to know when she is DH’s care and sleeps for longer. She seems to appreciate he needs sleep, but thinks I’m a robot.

We are having a cuddle, then we are going back to our respective beds. Those of you who have older children and are starting the day are clearly superheroes. How do you do it?!

GingerHanna · 13/11/2017 07:16

Hey there @theotherendofthesockportal

We’re now into hour three of cluster feeding. We (as in he) did have a brief nap a short while ago and I’m wondering if he might go down now.

Cat not interested but blanket found behind sofa. Why there was a blanket on he back of the sofa I do not know but bloody glad of it now.

GingerHanna · 13/11/2017 07:20

And back on the boob.

Jellybabie3 · 13/11/2017 07:40

Geez sounds rough Ginger.

I've just taken ds out of his sleeping bag to change him. Got back to bed. Massive poo Hmm testing. Testing times.

Jellybabie3 · 13/11/2017 07:42

Is it Just mine that strains like his life depends on it...not subtle
