In need of help. I've a 3 week old little boy and his appetite seems high, he is averaging 900ml of milk in 24hrs I've been using infacol as this week I manage to work out he had colic. Even with the drops in the night he's waking every 2hrs and in the day I just can not get him to sleep when I know his tired and should be sleeping.
Feeling at my it's end and like a rubbish mum so any advice would help.

What do you mean by 'colic'? It's usually defined as crying 3hr plus, 3 days a week for 3 weeks.
infacol is great for helping with wind, don't get me wrong, we just stopped using it with DS at 15 weeks

waking every 2 hours is normal, baby's stomachs are tiny

I read that the crying for 3hrs lifting knees to chest and being like that for 3 days was colic, the feeding every few hours I don't mind I was more concerned that he's having 5oz every feed for 3 weeks old seems alot of milk.

When DD was 3 weeks, I was offering her 6oz bottles and she was drinking around 700-800mls over 24 hours. My maternity nurse thought it was definitely on the high side but not unheard of. She also suspected DD might have had reflux (reflux babies like sucking and keep asking for milk) and she was right. However, reflux or not, DD still loved her milk and could have a lot of it from day 1.

Having said this, 900mls is a lot of milk and is not easy to digest. Things that may help:

• Good winding (I thought I was winding DD properly and I was wrong). DD slept really peacefully after my maternity nurse burped her. She would not settle with me (unless held) until I learnt the technique.
• Swaddling (again, worked wonders when done properly).
• Elevated side of a Moses basket. DD slept much better in a slightly reclined position.

I myself have reflux so I'm wondering whether he's picked that up from me I'll definitely ask health visitor.
I'll look into the winding as I've wondered if im doing it enough/correctly.
