Blossom4538 · 07/03/2017 19:44

and how many hours do they need, ideally?

DD needs her sleep and wakes stupid o clock at weekends - 4:30 am last weekend!

I usually have to wake her on school mornings though. We try for 7:30 fall asleep time but it seems to be getting closer to 8 o clock at the moment.

Just wondering what everyone else is doing?

Bed at 7:30 he usually wakes up between 6:30-7:30

ginsparkles · 07/03/2017 19:51

Dd is just coming up to 5. She's usually asleep by 7.30 latest and wakes around 7am

Blossom4538 · 07/03/2017 20:07

We used to do 7pm and then it tended to be around 7:20-30, but seems to be getting later. She fell asleep around 8 tonight.

Do they wake in night at all?

7-7.30 (I have a nearly-5 yo, 3yo and 1yo). They get up about 6-6.30 most days.

Pengweng · 07/03/2017 20:14

Reception age dts.
Lights out at 7 pm so asleep before half past.
They get up around 6.30am.
No wake ups in night unless they need a wee and they sort themselves out.

Twodogsandahooch · 07/03/2017 20:16

7.30-8pm. Up between 6-6.30

TwatteryFlowers · 07/03/2017 20:23

Ds is 6 in a couple of months. He goes to bed at 7.30 but often doesn't actually fall asleep until 8 and occasionally almost 9. We have to wake him at half 6 on a weekday and on a weekend, if left to his own devices, will sleep until 8. 4 y old dd wakes him up though at around 7!

KanyesVest · 07/03/2017 20:23

Dd is 6.5. She's in bed by 7.30, asleep by 8, usually up at 6.30. She typically goes to the loo once during the night, no matter when we stop her drinking. Ds is 4.5 and is in bed by 7.30, asleep by 7.32. He's up about 6.45/7.

Lucked · 07/03/2017 20:28

Our lights out is 8, later than we would havre chosen but we both work full time and can get in after 6 and there is also a younger dc who has to go to bed earlier.

We aim for after 7am for getting up although now the mornings are getting lighter they have been getting up a bit early.

CJCreggsGoldfish · 07/03/2017 20:28

DD 5, asleep for 8 and then up about 6.30am. We'll tweak it slightly if she's tired, but she's good at judging it herself and will sometimes ask to go to bed earlier.

Figgygal · 07/03/2017 20:29

5yo ds in bed by 7.30 usually up between 7 and 7.30

MoonDuke · 07/03/2017 20:29

8-8.30. Wakes 6-6.30.

Wakes with nightmares and/or to go to the loo.

Has never needed much sleep unfortunately

Muddlingalongalone · 07/03/2017 20:34

Dd1 goes to sleep at 8 & wakes at around 6:15.
7:30 would be better & that's what I do at the weekend but it just doesn't fit after work & with dd2 needing a lot of attention & comfort at bedtime.

rainingkitsandpups · 07/03/2017 20:42

Son will be 5 in three months.

Sleep by 6:45pm and up at 6:45am

So 12 hours. Plus a nap at weekends usually.

Leggit · 07/03/2017 20:49

Mine goes to bed at 8 and is normally asleep anywhere between 10.30 & 11:30

empirerecordsrocked · 07/03/2017 20:54

Into bed at 730 during the week asleep as soon as head hits pillow. Up at 6-630.

Bed later on Fridays / Saturdays - around 8ish. Still up at bloody 6.

If we are going out for dinner or something at the weekend we have to force them to take a nap in the afternoon and we can get bedtime back to 930 latest without a breakdown. Still up 6ish!

5 and a half year olds, year 1.

TheHuntingOfTheSarky · 07/03/2017 20:57

6yo DD2 goes to bed 7-7.15 depending on when DH gets home.

She wakes up naturally 6:30-7 ish.

Am Shock at those whose children aren't going to sleep til 9pm and later.

How do they concentrate at school??

Dementedswan · 07/03/2017 20:59

6 and 5 year old. Bed 6.30/7 asleep by 7/7.30. Wake them at 7.30 in morning on school days. Weekends bed by 8 asleep by 8.30 and wake 8.30/9.

LoadingDishwasher · 07/03/2017 21:01

Bed at 8pm......but never asleep before 9, up at 7am with night wandering around 3am when he tries to get into bed with us. Despite being taken back to his own bed every time he still follows this routine. It does my cake in.

Alanna1 · 07/03/2017 21:03

Bed by 7.30, asleep by 8.30-9.

didireallysaythat · 07/03/2017 21:08

6yo in bed by 8:45 usually asleep by 9:00 and up at 6:30-7:00.

Belmo · 07/03/2017 21:09

Bed by 7.30, asleep by 8 - any later and she has a serious meltdown. Wakes around 7.30, although sometimes I have to wake her - and almost never wakes in the night. She was a rubbish sleeper til 3 then it clicked!

Leggit · 07/03/2017 21:12

Me too, and mine is one of them. Do you actually think it happens through choice rollstiredeyes

I have absolutely no idea. Perhaps I should tell her to go to sleep earlier Hmm

BathshebaDarkstone · 07/03/2017 21:14

DS2 goes to sleep at 6 and needs 11 hours.

NapQueen · 07/03/2017 21:15

Bed at 7pm with her 2yo brother. Awake at 7 (shouts for us when the gro clock lights) well probably more like 6.30 but doesnt call for us until 7.
