How heavy was your baby when he/she first slept for 8hours straight?

My DD is 4.5months old but was 2 months early and small for dates so still only weighs around 10lbs.

She sleeps well but her limit is about 6hours at night. I suspect this is size related. Books and other posts generally talk about ages which is hard to interpret in my case.

How heavy were yours when they could go for a whole night?

Thanks for the help

That's the word, over tired. Rocking an over tired baby to sleep only make things worse.

If the baby is eating well, is not unwell, and has reasonable naps during the day, get them settled for bed shouldn't be a problem.

25 lbs and 12.5 months and still wakes briefly for a quick bf 2 - 8 times a night. I doubt that this is nutritionally necessary but more of a check in with me. I appreciate that if we didn't co sleep this would be torturous but as we do I am happy to indulge.

My DD nearly failed to thrive and had bronchiolitis at the time she naturally started sleeping for 10-12 hours straight around 6 weeks. Doctor said I shouldn't worry as some children just do that. So about 8lb? No harm came of it.

Quick update, she's now nearly 12lbs (at nearly six months!) and can go 8+ hours between feeds at night.

Have reintroduced dream feed and now just need a night where nothing else wakes her. Last night was only one wake-up which is fantastic.
