Clocks going back - early waking competition - open to all!

I'd like to lay down to sleep the gauntlet for earliest waking baby on Sunday when the clocks go back.

This morning my gorgeous 7 month old DS stirred at 3.50am (to be 2.50 on Sunday - Shock) and had to be cajoled, rocked, hushed to doze for another hour.

Wake up time today 5.50am.
Potential Sunday wake up time 4.50am.

Anyone else??

DS has a gro clock. I forgot to change the time on it. Just waiting for baby DD to fall asleep so I can sneak in and do it.

If I don't ds will be up at 0535. If I do we might get a bit longer.

octopusinastringbag · 27/10/2013 05:06

My DCs are both fast asleep....just about ready to try and head back to bed but I know I will wake at least one of them if I do.

Wuxiapian · 27/10/2013 05:09

DS2 awoke at 4am new time. He quickly went back to sleep, but I can't. Gotta take a flight today and I hate flying :(

GinGinGin · 27/10/2013 05:09

Ouch octopus. 3.50 here. I'm gonna need coffee today!

notcopingnamechange · 27/10/2013 05:15

18mo ds has woken every hour since 1am, and has been properly up an hour now... I'm exhausted already!

CiderwithBuda · 27/10/2013 05:15

Well i have been awake since around 3. Don't have the excuse of baby or toddler waking me either! Woke by rain lashing against window and couldn't get back to sleep so have been on here and Pinterest since.

I can go back to sleep though as DH and DS will leave me to it.

It does pass - I remember well that horrible feeling with a toddler being awake so early. I used to put the tv on and lie on the sofa under a blanket praying he would fall back to sleep.

knickyknocks · 27/10/2013 05:15

Milkshake has been on since 4.45...currently my saving grace, plus my stand your spoon up in my coffee. ..oh god it's still only 5.13

I have a plan. those of you who want to be asleep, send your up n' at it early morning babies to me, then go for some more zzzs Grin

TheRobberBride · 27/10/2013 05:23

We're up. Dd2 usually wakes up around 5.45 so it was 4.45 this morning. Not nearly as bad as some I admit. Still, thank god for Nick Jr peppa. Finges crossed I can persuade her to watch TV in bed for a while at least!

knickyknocks · 27/10/2013 05:24

Ooh mrsshriek fab idea Grin

GinGinGin · 27/10/2013 05:28

Shriek even Shock

MrsDavies · 27/10/2013 05:51

I have just given up trying to get DS back off to sleep after waking at 4.30am!

cupcake78 · 27/10/2013 06:01

Listening to dd in her cot and trying to stretch it out as far as possible. Tbh she's extremely good for such a young baby! Ds 6 is usually the one to wake up first. Usually between 5-6am but he woke up at 2 with croup so he was 'steamed and drugged'Smile.

Love a dose of Neurofen and an illness it means ds may actually finally sleep Grin.

Coveredinweetabix · 27/10/2013 06:07

DD called me at 6.31, just after the sun came up on her Gro clock. The Gro clock I forgot to adjust last night [Smacks self on head emoticon] We have friends staying whose toddler stayed up until 10 last night and he always sleeps for 11 - 12 hours whatever time he goes to sleep Envy so I have about 3 hours of DD asking every 2 - 3 minutes "when is X going to get up".

I remember one spring years ago reminding a friend with a 4yo and a 2yo that the clocks went back that night and her just sighing and saying "phew. My DC are still on summer time from last year. Maybe we'll go back to 6.45 rather than 5.45 wake ups now".

cantthinkofagoodone · 27/10/2013 06:16

I feel marginally better for my 5.30 wake up as he actually slept through beforehand unlike the last 3 nights

That and it's not as bad as some!

gintastic · 27/10/2013 06:19

Been up since 4. Just had a shouty rant at DS and sent him back to bed. DH still snoring. He's going to have a v bad tempered wife today and I don't care as he was being an arse yesterday and I'm in the huff with him before we even started at 4am

DorisShuttAgainstGhosts · 27/10/2013 06:23

Up since 5.15am, so actually 6.15am BST, and only because he needed the toilet (potty training; he's fine in the day, but we're trying to crack nights and have dry pull ups)

Could have been much worse.

Except it's my birthday, I was supposed I be having a long lie; but DH was comatose, DS was shouting... what ya gonna do?!

gintastic · 27/10/2013 06:29

Doris, I find an elbow to the kidneys works well.

ArabellaBeaumaris · 27/10/2013 06:50

5.15 here which I realise is fairly reasonable. MrsDavies is that a nom de plume or do I know you?

knickyknocks · 27/10/2013 07:12

We have a winner!

Octopusinastringbag with a 3.21 start time. You win grouchy tetchy tired children. Is it too early for Wine Grin

just before 4am this morning hear. Did try to get him back to sleep but no good. Hopefully I'll be going back to bed latter, I'll also be going out for caffeine to.

octopusinastringbag · 27/10/2013 07:44

Luckily for me the children are fine, they slept until 7am, it was me that was up :( I was up at 2am yesterday....lack of work (I'm on holiday for the next few days) must mean I've not got enough to do to tire me out.

On the first coffee of the day but feeling sick.....

FreeButtonBee · 27/10/2013 08:10

Thank god the gradual thig worked for my two. Up at 6.30 new time! Sadly they both woke every 45 mins from 8pm until 2am. At 2 u gave in and took DT2 into bed with me. DH let me sleep until 7.30 when they started demanding to be fed.

tethersend · 27/10/2013 08:17

I can't believe we successfully reset DD2 for one night only - 7am wake up! Normally between 5 and 6.

I will gloss over the fact that we had to keep her up until 9 last night to achieve this.
