I can't beat you all time wise - but I may be a runner in "The Least Effective Line In" category.
Last night we primed DD(9yo) and DS(5yo) that they were allowed to come downstairs and watch TV with their blankets and pillows as we were planning a lie in (as in staying asleep - no euphemism at all).
We heard them getting up and trundling downstairs just before 7am, and went back to sleep. At 7:30am DD came upstairs and said she was making us a surprise breakfast in bed but the microwave was unplugged and she was very cross. Went down to find out what on earth she was doing that needed the microwave, found she wanted to defrost bread before putting it in the toaster, told her to put it straight in the toaster, got sent back to bed.
5 mins later - called to open jam jar.
5 mins later - called to open marmite jar.
5 mins later - called to put loaf of bread back in freezer.
5 mins later - called because DD had dropped marmite jar which had shattered covering kitchen in shards of glass and marmite.
20 mins later - finish clearing up kitchen, cuddling DD (who was in tears) and reassuring her that all was OK.
10 mins later - breakfast arrived. Cold toast and a small glass of orange glass carried by a very tearful DD.
I'm very glad that it won't be repeated until next year, but it is lovely that she wanted to treat us
