Baby Led Sleeping

I'm not co-sleeping with my almost two year old against my own volition and against my better judgement because I am too soft to do controlled crying and if he wakes his three year old sister that's the whole house up and everyone will need a story before they go back down and although it is hilarious that DS rattles his cot bars shouting "awake, awake" it is not quite so hilarious at 4am for the fifth time that night...

Oh no. Not me.

I am doing Baby Led Sleeping,

(It's all about the branding dontcha know)

OOOhh, very trendy!

VintageNancy · 22/09/2012 17:32

You should write a book about this new-fangled concept Grin.

PseudoBadger · 22/09/2012 17:34

I am also following this methodology.

JiltedJohnsJulie · 22/09/2012 17:36

Wish I'd thought about the branding when DS was little instead of mainlining tea, contemplating valium and begging DH to take DS out in the car so that I could have at least one hour's sleep out of 24.

To be fair, there are similarities Confused

But now everyone is getting about three more hours sleep a night.

Baby Led Sleeping. It's the future. Possibly until they leave home for Uni. Who knows?

Ooh me too! Am I suddenly trendy? I was calling in 'too knackered to fight with a baby any more' led sleeping Grin

ZimboMum · 22/09/2012 20:40

I like it! Have been in the BLS club for some time now. :)

HearMyRoar · 22/09/2012 20:44

Hurrah! Now when friends tell me smugly about their babies who sleep through in a cot in another room to them I can sniff condescendingly and simply say 'Well, of course, I'm doing Baby Led Sleeping don't you know'.

In your face people with sleeping babies! Hah! :o

VerityClinch · 22/09/2012 21:25

HearMyRoar Yes! Yes! That's exactly it.

The superior sniff of condescension. The unspoken implication that you are the more natural, intuitive, nurturing mother.

No crying it out for you. No desperate attempts to night-wean. No pat pat shush shush shush shush pat pat oh fuck it then cuddle feed cuddle carefully put back down oh fuck shush shush pat pat shush shush.

No, no.

We are fucking visionaries.

We are the Baby Led Sleepers.

And all the other mums will wonder why WE know about BLS-ing and THEY don't.

Oh my goodness...I am a fucking visionary...

...LOVE IT!!!!!

omletta · 22/09/2012 21:34

Could do extended BLS and continue during the teenage, coming home at dafto'clock, years!

MrClaypole · 22/09/2012 21:41

This is a revelation! I never knew I was so "on-trend"!

wigglesrock · 22/09/2012 21:42

Oh - well I've been doing it for years - Grin

MangoLangoTango · 22/09/2012 21:43

Oh I love this! BLS sounds so much better than ''no I can't be arsed to persuade him to sleep in the cot"

Bloody glad said cot is second hand too since it's now a glorified clothes horse.

ATruthUniversallyAcknowledged · 22/09/2012 21:56

An expert Katy? Probably you should write a book. I'd buy it along with every other book on the market

IShallPracticeMyCurtsey · 22/09/2012 22:00

Well, if it's the latest thing

ProcessYellowC · 22/09/2012 22:01

Love it!

And it worked for me! 4 yr old sleeps very well thanks it only took till he was three and a half

EBDTeacher · 22/09/2012 22:02

Oh thank feck.. I thought I had failed Sleeping 101.
