After three attempts to leave a message on this thread I have to start again.

Codswallop - you still have the hacking bronchial cough to come and total loss of interest in food to come. I'm sure it won't be long before DS2 catches another cold.

We were going to sleep in the lounge last night, got the inflatable bed out ready and then discovered the pump wasn't charged and which point we threw our hands in the air and went back to bed. He woke at 4am, bfight eyed and bushy tailed.

well done kaz.
why are you in the lounge?

This thread is about the only thing that makes me smile first thing in the morning

DD has got a snotty nose now, so cyber illness obviously spreads quickly! We've only just got over the sicky one. Awake at 12 midnight for an hour, tried to give her calpol, but couldn't work out where it went until I realised that my pyjamas were stuck to the bedsheets this morning! Then wide awake at 6.00am so sat her on the bed with a toy until dh got up with her.

Dh off work so said I could have lie in, only to be woken by mum at 7.00am as my dog (which still lives with her) has started having fits and they thought it was the end of the road for him. Took ds and rushed over there to see him to find him back to normal and pinching biscuits off the kids again.

Thanks to the lurkers for making us feel less alone

Maybe tonight is the night.............

lubu · 21/10/2003 13:53

For sleep!!

Eeek · 21/10/2003 13:56

Sleep? What's that?

We had your calpol experience with medised. Wonderful stuff except that ds has now worked out how to spit it at mummy. He loves nurofen, will accept calpol, but the one which will clear his nose (and let mummy sleep) - oh, no, bleuch. Little blighter

Nome · 21/10/2003 14:42

I made the mistake of tasting medised and it was very bitter. Is there anything that has the same effect but without the bitterness?
ds made himself hysterical at bedtime yesterday - instead of going down around 7.30 he had to be stroked/cuddled until 8.50 when he gave a great big gulp and rolled over. sigh. I went against chemists advice and had a spoonful of Actifed after his last fed (we have about eight hours between feeds now) - stopped my cough and knocked myself out...so I did get my six hours. Am still fed up though and will give ds away, nevermind selling him...so starfish available to good home.

CountessDracula · 21/10/2003 14:45

Nome Dozol is similar but not so vile tasting.

Nome · 21/10/2003 15:00

Thanks CD. If I drink it will it knock me out too? Then ds and I can lie in bed in drug induced torpor and dh can sleep in the cot

kaz33 · 21/10/2003 16:01

In the lounge so that when his lordship can have our bedroom and when we screams in the middle of the night hopefully we'll be so fast asleep we won't hear him - especially with the ear plugs, glass of whisky and 2 nurofen.....

aah.

codswallop · 21/10/2003 16:19

no, aha! i meant. no sympathy for the babies!! altho mine is rather poorly and listless

kaz33 · 21/10/2003 16:38

My baby is gorgeous - I took him to the baby clinic today to get weighed for only the second time. Just execuse i just wanted the health visitors to tell me how gorgeous he was - they duly obliged. All forgiven until 4am in the morning...

codswallop · 21/10/2003 16:39

tee hee
did he grow an extra head then?

lubu · 21/10/2003 20:00

LOL Kaz33 and Nome

princesspeahead · 21/10/2003 20:15

i win this competition. my 6 wk old screamed from 8.30 pm to 4.30 am last night without drawing breath. it was hell on legs.
found out today he has an ear infection so is on antibiotics. i can't believe it, my other two never had anything until they were at least 2!
but he isn't for sale, he is still my little sweetiepie...
off to bed now, night all!!

Eeek · 21/10/2003 20:21

pph - you don't just win, you run off with the prize. Oh, my god you must have been beside yourselves.

He drank down his nurofen then perked up, had his feed, bit me once on each boob then screamed for 5 minutes before going to sleep. He's snoring just like his dad but even louder and he's given me his cold. Any offers?

princesspeahead · 21/10/2003 20:26

I almost gave him back to the hospital.
then remembered I'd had him at home

but all is forgiven now I know he was ill and not just being a noisy bugger for the hell of it

codswallop · 21/10/2003 20:29

when you said he went from 8 30 til 4 am on the phone i thougth you eant he slept! doh! sorry if I wasnt sympathetic.

Nome · 21/10/2003 21:34

Well, I went off to postnatal aerobics (impressive, huh? ) this evening and just came back from a good gossip and a few sit-ups, to find dh in new clothes and ds fast asleep. ds sicked up his entire dinner over dh. So what are the chances of him (ds, not dh) going through with only one little comfort feed at 11.00?
Lots of sympathy PPH

ninja · 21/10/2003 21:42

I'll join if you want and make lots of you feel better. 5.5 months and still feeding usually 3 times in the night (and not just comfort suck!) Also has the annoying habit of usually pooing in the middle of the night - lovely

lubu · 21/10/2003 22:14

Very impressive Nome. I have just joined a gym where you work out for only 30 minutes 2/3 times a week. Will let you know if it works.

PPH - what an awful night, I hope the poor little chap feels better tonight (and you).

Hello to Ninja.....

Off to bed now, see if I can get some sleep!

kaz33 · 21/10/2003 22:37

Gosh Ninja - I think the thread is yours, cannot compete. I'll tell DS2 that he must try harder

OP posts:
codswallop · 22/10/2003 08:47

coughed and stirred till 11, then slept till 5 am - looked askance my proffered boob and said " If you dont Mind I only wanted a drink of water"

slept till 7. still a bit poorly this am

BUT ds1 who always wakes at 6 - 6 30 and goes to watch tv slept till 7!! OW

ninja · 22/10/2003 09:06

Last night was awake twice before she's been in bed an hour - dp brought her down to watch the football (I suspect that was more for him than her!) - then three more feeds (if I remember correctly) but was certainly awake for a while between 5 and 6. That was a bad niht. To be honest I've stopped worrying about the feeds as long as she goes to sleep afterwards. She's cracked naps and going to sleep at night (usually) so I just try and feel lucky about that.

motherinferior · 22/10/2003 09:25

Wow, you lot - commiserations. Slightly poor night here but Normal Poor IYSIM.

God I hate it when they reject proferred boob. Find myself thinking 'look, kid, plenty of people have thought they're pretty fine, actually!'

codswallop · 22/10/2003 09:35

No i am pleased wsm. 7 months was 7 months more than I ever planned to do
