After three attempts to leave a message on this thread I have to start again.

Codswallop - you still have the hacking bronchial cough to come and total loss of interest in food to come. I'm sure it won't be long before DS2 catches another cold.

We were going to sleep in the lounge last night, got the inflatable bed out ready and then discovered the pump wasn't charged and which point we threw our hands in the air and went back to bed. He woke at 4am, bfight eyed and bushy tailed.

Well, she's drugged up for the night again, the nursery smells of snuffle babe and after I have finished searching for a cheap short break, I am going for an early night, so fingers crossed! Hope you all have a better night tonight!

Hooray! mine had a quick inch of milk at 2 and then aslepp till.....................8AM!!!!

I put hte heating on at 2 30 am on at 16 degrees - is that it?

Off to nct sale

lubu · 25/10/2003 08:59

It was bloomin cold last night, I think dh turned the heating on when he came in and it worked here too. She woke up just as i was going to bed, by the time i got upstairs she was fast asleep until 5.30 and then to 7.30.

Off the market as she is starting to crawl a bit and it is really cute. However I am open to offers for ds (3 yrs) as after getting up at 6.00am he has now mixed all the dirty washing and clean ironing together and thrown all my filing on the floor - now where's the key for that cupboard?

kaz33 · 25/10/2003 09:23

Finally I did it, left DS2 to whinge - awake at 12pm, dozed until 2.30am ish, full scale scream at 3am at which point went to join DP in living room, fell asleep and when i woke up at 4.30am it was all quiet and he then slept until 6.30am....

One more night and hopefully he will get the message,

codswallop · 25/10/2003 12:58

ha ha pph!

codswallop · 25/10/2003 13:06

poor kaz. try the heating on trick

Beccarollo · 25/10/2003 13:21

i wonder if thats the key to it because i left the heating on by mistake last night and was boiling the morning but ds slept soundly...

codswallop · 25/10/2003 13:36

it said in the paper it should be 16 degrees at night

kaz33 · 25/10/2003 19:20

I always have the window open a little and no heating - otherwise I get dehydrated... Maybe thats why the little blighter wakes up - he is cold, even in his grobag !!

sorry Coddy - missed your post the other night. Probably too busy arguing with dadslib about the colour of Santa
Ds sounds on the mend.

kaz33 · 26/10/2003 06:44

Hurrah - DS2 slept from 7pm to 6.45am for the first time without any intervention. He woke a couple of times but went back to sleep without any screaming. Of course i kept waking up in anticipation, but wow i do believe he's got the idea.

Except of course as the clocks went back it was actually until 5.45am

OP posts:
codswallop · 26/10/2003 09:41

Mine went from 15 till ?3 then asleep till 6 30 new time

elena2 · 27/10/2003 12:54

Ds2 (8 wks)went to bed after a late feed about 11, woke at 1am (HA, you must be joking mate, dummy in), woke again at 3am (dummy in, not holding much hope) woke again at 5.15, drank 6oz bottle, back to sleep till 6.30, dummy in, woke again at 7.30, dummy in, then woke agin at 8, dummy in, then went till 9.15 am!

Blimey, I feel tired just reading that!
Probably making him too dependent on dummy, and he is still fully swaddled, I know we should be half swaddling him now, but scared it will make his nighttime wakings even more frequent!

If we don't go in and put his dummy again when he wakes, he works up to a roar before we give in and go and get him a bottle, then he only has a couple of ounces before falling asleep on it.
Only other option is leaving him to cry and learn how to settle himself back to sleep, but he's too little for that.

Keep hoping that he will get used to going longer without a feed through getting him to go longer by putting his dummy in (IYSWIM), and then he might not wake for the dummy. Fingers crossed.

Any advice from all the seasoned mothers of non-sleeping babies?

codswallop · 27/10/2003 13:07
