Awake at 12 for a cuddle and then at 5.30am for a feed then slept until 6.30am so not too bad considering that she must still feel poorly
Mum and dad came round for dinner last night and she was sick - exorcist style - all over the kitchen floor - says a lot for my cooking!

Nice to have mum to help though as dh working.

codswallop · 17/10/2003 19:26

woke up with a poo in his pants! blasted baby! thought he had grown out of that.

so he was so wide awake and then ds2 woke up coughing....then all back to bed and baby woke up at 5 30!

Offer still on.

SOOOOOOOOOOOOO< ihave gievn him formula - hungry baby variety and await a miraculous change.

Hoorah Codswallop - ds2already on formula Maybe I should try the hungrier version.

He's getting to strong for the chair so can't leave him in the kitchen infront of the dryer any more - scared he might fall out, so tried leaving him in his cot to cry it out. Not a huge success - DP big wimp and demanded that we gave him a dummy and then he fed him at about 5.30am. DS1 heard him too, so we are all a bit weary this morning and DP still in bed lucky bd.

codswallop · 18/10/2003 09:37

I qlways do controlled crying when dh is away.

lubu · 18/10/2003 10:56

Congrats Codswallop - being bionic he obviously needs lots of food

DD still getting benefit of the doubt as she is still not eating much food during the day as I think she is still a bit poorly. Might give in and offer her some formula before bed tonight. She's bruised my nipple really badly last night by biting on it, so breastfeeding not as appealing today

codswallop · 19/10/2003 08:12

NO woke up at 11 pm coughing.. was too tired to cope with howlathon so fed him.

lasted till 6 30 am so thats ok

dh back MOn am

are you and kaz the only ones left on this thread.

calling all lurkers! Make oyurselves known so we dont feel alone!

OP posts:
lubu · 19/10/2003 09:29

Well she wouldn't have any formula before bed, so gave in and breast fed her. Then woke at 5am for 45 minute feed and then just about slept to 6.30am Feel like a zombie again though as pulled muscle in ribcage and can't get comfortable in any position to sleep.

Like I said it seems to be one thing after another!

How is everyone else getting on now?

kaz33 · 19/10/2003 11:44

Badly, DS2 is so strong and long that I don't feel that I can put him in his seat infront of the dryer so have to find another way to settle him.

Was going to sleep in the lounge and leave him to howl but haven't really managed to find the strength of will to do that and DP being involved has not been helpful.

Last night fed at 3.30am and then up again at 6am and wanted more food - AAAAAAGH

crazynow · 19/10/2003 15:38

Hi, I thought I would join the thread(as requested by Codswallop). It's fun reading what you 3 have to say, so how old are your cute little ones?

Ds2 is 5wks and keeping me awake at night, but ds1 kept waking till he was 8months - so another 7months to go!!! oh what joy! It's a bit of a marathon at the moment as ds1 has a cold & is coughing most of the night, so as ds2 is settled I then have to sort out ds1 - stressed big time!!

kaz33 · 19/10/2003 21:49

Hi Crazynow - DS2 is 5th month at the end of the month. DS1 is 2 years and 3 months - few problems with DS1 at the beginning but after three months he settled down. DS1 was sleeping through at 3 months so you never know Crazynow this time it may be different.

DS2 was making a break for my weetabix this morning, so tonight I gave him his first spoonful of baby rice - he opened his mouth in anticipation as the spoon moved toward him. Afterwards he smiled at me in appreciation, so lets hope solids get him sleeping through the night.

mears · 19/10/2003 23:11

codswallop - he would have slepy anyway!! Formula is sh*t. You know I love you

mears · 19/10/2003 23:11

Meant slept. Am on the wine

kaz33 · 20/10/2003 09:23

Mears - I know you aren't being totally serious, but I think your advice is s**t.

DS2 ate at 2.30pm, 7pm, 11pm - three 9oz bottles and still woke up at 4.30am and then wouldn't go back to sleep for over an hour. AAAArgh

mears · 20/10/2003 10:59

You are right Kaz - was a bit tipsy last night What I meant was that formula will not make B/F babies sleep necessarily.

codswallop · 20/10/2003 19:14

laughing at you all. Hi crazynow - your news about the 8 months makes me feel better. Ds1 is 5 (slspt beautifully) ds2 is 3 (woke him at 8am this am) and ds3 is7 months tomorrow and has currently a hacking cough so all offers are suspended as he is faulty goods!

another lurker checking in - my 10mo (who slept through beautifully from 12 weeks)is now waking 3 times a night. This has been going on for about 6 weeks and ITS DRIVING ME INSANE! He's had 4 colds, 2 new teeth, a chest infection and a tummy bug in that time. Good going hey?

lubu · 20/10/2003 20:18

hello Crazynow - my DS is 3 yrs and sleeps really well. DD is 7 months and did sleep well and then didn't and then did and then not and so on.

She is now waking at 4am for a very leisurely feed, but will not be pacified with water or anything else. She does look like Aunt Sally (rosy cheeks), so I do think that she is after comfort for her teeth (none of which have come through yet). Have now got calpol all over bed sheets and none in her mouth so maybe she will lick the bed and get pain relief

Codswallop - is the bionic baby formula still doing any good?

lubu · 20/10/2003 20:19

Hello eek, sorry posts crossed!

Nome · 20/10/2003 21:02

Yet another lurker checking in. Ds is 9 months and has decided that he wants to be in with us from 4.30 every morning for the last week. Not great, esp when he was going from seven (feed at eleven) to seven. I don't sleep when he is in with us, just doze; I end up sleeping rigid down the edge of the bed while ds turns into a starfish and dh snores peacefully on. Last night was 3.30 and after an hour of to-and-fro-ing we let him wail and he went back to sleep at 4.50. All I want is six unbroken hours...is that so much to ask for??

codswallop · 20/10/2003 21:04

no formula not working because he has a horrific cought that he caught from kaz 's baby.

Cyber illness - its all the rage yer know.!

OP posts:
codswallop · 20/10/2003 21:05

Nome - yes it is too much. the babys on this thread arent human - they are bionic non sleepers!

LOL at the star fish

thank you to all the lurkers for making me smile,

OP posts:
kaz33 · 20/10/2003 21:19

Well the good news Codswallop is that the cold has gone, so hopefully DS3 will be on the mend soon - the bad news is that no closer to sleeping through the night.

Every night i say we will sleep in the lounge and let him cry when he wakes up and ecery night I chicken out - don't know why as I am a heartless cow who is most concerned about her beauty sleep

More lurkers check in please

codswallop · 21/10/2003 09:26

and how radiant you look Kazzer!

How long does this cold you have given ds3 last for? -he is at the nose rnning phase and as for the nappies pher - eyw!
