Coddy have you tried giving water instead of milk during the night, I seem to remember that worked for my dd.

Jenie · 27/08/2003 12:15

Do they need a reason?

SoupDragon · 27/08/2003 12:15

yeah, when dd had a nasty snuffle the doc gave her some kind of decongestanty stuff which I used once and resulted in 14hrs sleep NON STOP!!

codswallop · 27/08/2003 12:19

and it is?

my others slept through - I mean 12 hours - at 10 weeks - 3 months.

Dimotane Elixir.

Medised does the same thing

I must hasten to add that I only use these things when she is ill, not to get a good night's sleep (though I have thought about it several times)

codswallop · 27/08/2003 12:21

have tried Medised.

its because he is bionic.

Yess sshe doesss

Yesterday she cried all afternoon until I got home from work which sent dh into a strop , made me feel like supermum however.

Last night she woke me up 3 times and when I went in her room she had nearly a whole teddy rammed in her mouth, biting away, bless.

Sleeps when not teething however. Are you up for a swap?

codswallop · 27/08/2003 12:29

oliveoil · 27/08/2003 12:30

Is that a product? Or a typo?!!

SamboM · 27/08/2003 12:32

It's a product. Nelson's Teetha, a homeopathic remedy. Works wonders for my dd but you have to give it regularly. They sell it in Boots.

codswallop · 27/08/2003 12:34

I tried it - preferred calpol! wicked Mum

OP posts:
oliveoil · 27/08/2003 12:34

Will give it a go. I have some teething powder stuff that was recommended Palmers Powders (??) or something which doesn't work. Bring on the Calpol.

Been given some work so have to go , my head is going to hit the desk in a minute, so tired zzzz

SamboM · 27/08/2003 12:35

Oh I use calpol too when it's really bad, double wicked mum!

lou33 · 27/08/2003 13:15

Vallergan?

katierocket · 27/08/2003 13:19

codswallop - my DS didn't sleep through until 8 months and even then we would have nights when he would wake up 2 or 3 times a night. Total BL nightmare. We tried EVERYTHING and nothing really helped that much, he's a lot better now (2 years) but still gets up about 5.30 /6 am.
I really believe that some children are more 'wakeful' than others (in the same way some adults sleep better/deeper than others). The only thing that vaguely helped was routine, routine, routine, not just at bed time but also consistency with what we did when he woke up.

sorry no useful suggestions but lots of sympathy - I remember being in tears at 8 months becuase I was so knackered. for 4 weeks he woke up every half an hour. this is probably not what you want to hear....sorry!

codswallop · 27/08/2003 18:38

Ok he has had 2 jars of food and both knockers. Better blinking well sleep.

How much blankety/ bag type stuff do you all think?
