I can't move my profile back to my usual name

Can you help? For some reason I have two sets of boxes with names in:

BitofFun>>BitOfFun

BitOfFunWithRudolph>>BitOfFunWithRudolph

I keep trying to alter the bottom one to put my profile back to my ordinary name, then press 'change', but it just says "Couldn't find a profile for you".

How do I fix it please?

i just delete my name as in use the back button and type in the one i want. is that what you mean? Then press save.

BitOfFun · 05/01/2010 19:12

No, not that, but thanks. It's the profile mover page that I am having trouble on, not name-chANGING.

Oh dear.

Ok, this isn't something we can sort this evening, I'm afraid - I'd need to be in the office (with a Tech looking over my shoulder).

But I will try to sort it for both of you tomorrow.

BitOfFun · 05/01/2010 20:07

Nope

We are doomed. Perhaps MNHQ is fed up of us over-sharers? They have heard about your SIL and my tits just one too many times, so our punishment is to forever remain anonymous...hell for us exhibitionist types

Ah well, Helen, I will soldier on util then, thanks anyway

HelenMumsnet · 12/01/2010 11:29

Yes, should be fixed now, says NikitaTech.

But obv do let us know if it's not working for you.

Poledra · 12/01/2010 11:31

How about having a look at this little problem then please?

Ta!

piratecat · 12/01/2010 11:38

i have had the same problem since way before xmas, i gave up!!

hope i get some answers too!

HelenMumsnet · 12/01/2010 11:59

Have done, Poledra. NikitaTech is on the case...

Poledra · 12/01/2010 12:01

Thank you! (Havoc will be stuck on the naughty step forever, if NikitaTech can't fix it )

thumbwitch · 12/01/2010 12:27

Not sure whether to add to this thread or start a new one but here goes - I have just tried to click on someone else's profile (they do have one) and although the destination in the address bar at the top says it is that person, the page itself displays my own profile page! Wassat all about then??

(just tried it again on piratecat and the same thing happened - said it would be piratecat in the address bar but it was Thumbwitch on the profile page!)

HelenMumsnet · 12/01/2010 13:02

Yes, thumbwitch - I'm afraid fixing the problem people we having on this thread seems to have created a whole new one.

NikitaTech is frantically pedalling in the Shed trying to sort it all out.
