The Litter Tray

Dear Father Christmas

As the horse people have The Tack Room, can we have a "special" place for cat people?

Can you call it The Litter Tray?

I have mostly been good this year as you know, and I feel it would be both a reward for good behaviour, and encouragement for me to leave the horse people alone. Win win as they say.

Thank you so much.

Pregnant cat-lady wishes to join, too!

DH wants to know whether he will love the baby more than he loves his 'furry daughter'. I told him probably yes - he looked confused.

OK,ML and MrML, that's 2 more. Are you listening MN?

Yes, definately - a top idea.

Maybe someone could explain the mystery of the cats staring at walls phenomena around these parts. DS3 says it's like the start of a Dr Who.

CMOTdibbler · 14/12/2009 11:07

Mine stare too - although the current cats aren't as bad as my old boy who was a top staring at things in a scary way exponent.

DH had to retrieve a mouse from under the stair carpet this morning, and cat3 keeps sticking her head back under there even though cat2 took the mouse out to eat it

Then we would indeed need a Dog Topic. Poop Scoopers is a good name for us. Or The Dog House.

And Guinea Pig topic - we could lump the hamsters in with them though. And rabbits. Hutch dwellers.

What about fish? Reptiles?

catinthehat2 · 14/12/2009 11:23

ah
gwan gwan gwan gwan.

Pilot it with the cats, then do dogs, wallabies, otters etc. Gwan gwan gwan.

But but but... where would it all end? Dog Basket, Rabbit Hutch, Stick Insect Jam Jars
Chickens and horses aren't really pets in the way of cats, dogs and gerbils are they?

catinthehat2 · 14/12/2009 17:25

Have you looked at any horse threads recently? These ladies have a serious habit, and tbh I think they feel the same way about their horses as some of us feel about cats, or dogs. The chicken ladies also show similar significant signs - its not all about egg production or winning rosettes you know. See this thread in The TAck Room for instance.

To be serious, I think that domesticAted animals can be a great source of comfort for humans, even at the lowest level of just having something non confrontational to talk about with other owners. Could Olivia really walk her dog(s) and never ever say a word to another dog walker for instance?

I won't go on, but I think there is mileage in a specific cat topic, and I bet the dog owners and small-rodenty people would also value a dedicated topic, to make it easier to socialise with similar bods, when all the trouble and pain of some of the other topics gets too much.

What do you reckon? Try it and see? If it doesn't work, revert to a general "Pets " topic? (cheesy)

It could be called 'cat chat', less smelley sounding than the litter tray.

MPuppykin · 01/06/2010 18:06

I'm in. For a cat or dog specific chat.
