Mumsnet: the Pregnancy Guide

We're tickled pink to announce the publication of our latest MN book, Mumsnet: the Pregnancy Guide.

Packed with the wit and wisdom of many a Mumsnetter, it covers every stage of the hormone-sodden path to parenthood with the kind of tell-it-like-it-is honesty you're all known for.

And it's illustrated by our very own, very talented Boco.

You can read all about it here, have a quick dekko at Justine's foreword here - and, of course, order it here.

Buy a copy! Tell your friends! And tell us what you think!

Lulu it's fine to relist - drop us a line if you need us to do anything.

JustineMumsnet · 03/09/2009 11:52

Sorry that answer was meant for you LadyStealthPolarBear!

EyeballsintheSky · 03/09/2009 11:53

Is it completely different to the previous one? There was a previous pregnancy one, wasn't there? I'm sure it's where I first read the cursed magical word Mumsnet

LuluMaman · 03/09/2009 11:55

stealth, thanks, have posted on your other thread

LadyStealthPolarBear · 03/09/2009 12:11

Thanks Justine, I'll put it in the right bit!
Eyeballs, yes, there was a "Mums on pregnancy" one, which is just excerpts from threads, I assume this one will be more of a Mumsnet guide iyswim.

ThePhantomPlopper · 03/09/2009 13:11

Mine arrived yesterday. Didn't think it came out until the 7th, but there it was posted through the window into my downstairs toilet ... cheers postie .

I've only read the first trimester section, but so far so good, not as funny as the toddler guide though, I still laugh at "fuck off ducks, fuck off".

LadyStealthPolarBear · 03/09/2009 13:25

literally into the toilet?

Flamesparrow · 03/09/2009 13:27

Tigerfeet - I was thinking about how it would look nice with the toddler one too

ThePhantomPlopper · 03/09/2009 13:30

Yes literally into the toilet, it's DS's toilet and he left the seat up, the toilet is directly under the window. Luckily the Amazon packaging was huge and it wedged itself into the bowl.

TigerFeet · 03/09/2009 14:36

@Flamesparrow - these things are very important aren't they? especially when nesting

BarbieLovesKen · 03/09/2009 15:32

I have had the Pregnancy Mumsnet Guide for a week now and I read it in one day/night.....(I am a big lumbering 32 weeks pregnant with twins) - I think they should give it out free at your first midwife meeting - its so unpatronising -and I feel very patronised at the momentt!!!....whoever gave the advice about Ranitidine for acid refulx - featured in the book (I have just looked it up and it was someone posting as Bakedpotatohoho)...thank you thank you thank you ... its worked for me - buy this for anyone you know who is pregnant - especially first timers like me....it has made me laugh and been really useful too...most of all reading it has made me feel more human - being pregnant has been the weirdest experience of my life!

HelenMumsnet · 08/09/2009 14:56

Ah, thank you, roselover - we're all chuffed to hear that.

All the best with those twins-to-be!

My HV saw the toddler one on the coffee table yesterday... asked if it was any good, then asked if I went on Netmums much

She has obviously been beaten to death with said book and is now laying under my tomato plants.

elkiedee · 10/09/2009 23:02

I want to buy it even though I'm not sure I'll have another baby - I discovered mumsnet originally when I found out I was pregnant with my first baby and went into Borders to browse their pregnancy books - that was one of the three I ordered after looking through a whole bookcase full.

How am I meant to justify buying the baby one when ds2 will be turning 1 that month?
