Dear MNHQ

Please can you re-instate the longer nicknames on the top of posts?

Thank you

Yes, cut-off nicknames are pointless.

TheFool · 14/07/2009 11:42

I'm with them

TrillianoftheShineyCult · 14/07/2009 11:55

We understand that you need space for the date etc, but there's room left for a few more characters.

If it's not going to show up on our posts then you should restrict the length at the point when we choose the nickname.

Tortington · 14/07/2009 11:56

get a shorter name you letter hoggers

TrillianoftheShineyCult · 14/07/2009 12:19

While we're at it can we have a sticking-out-tongue emoticon?

GarconsSontCommeDesChiens · 14/07/2009 12:21

[sticks out tongue]

There ya go

TrillianoftheShineyCult · 14/07/2009 12:26

Hi BALD!

SoupDragon · 14/07/2009 12:26

There are cut-off nicknames??

TrillianoftheShineyCult · 14/07/2009 12:28

In MN New, which I assume MNHQ want us to use since they paid someone to make it, the name above a post gets cut off after a certain number of characters. It's annoying.

SoupDragon · 14/07/2009 12:29

Pah! New is not always better, see.

TheChilliMooseIsRubbish · 14/07/2009 12:43

Yeah, I like to change mine every day or so once in a while, but now no-one gets to see it and therefore you are missing out on the full chilli experience

GarconsSontCommeDesChiens · 14/07/2009 12:45

at Trillian's french speaking skills

TrillianoftheShineyCult · 14/07/2009 12:48

Jaquelinehyde · 14/07/2009 13:27

Yes give us longer names

JustineMumsnet · 14/07/2009 15:20

Ok Ok - we'll see if we can squeeze in a few more - bear with us though BitTech is very hard to pin down at the moment .

TrillianoftheShineyCult · 14/07/2009 15:37

Yay! Thank you!

Just checking - I have no issue with this as my name is in full!

Is there a way to put inback to MN classic?

FlamingoOfTheShineyCult · 14/07/2009 19:54

yay, yay, yay!

Garcons - all new posters will be on new MN, so using classic hardly counts if only old posters will see the names.
