to find out why some of you mnetters have been busy reading for a long time but don't post?
What are your reasons?

scarred of looking like an idiot

Things sound fuuny in my head, when written down look stupid!!!!!!

I am an occasional poster though

dropinthe · 22/04/2005 11:24

You cant be seen though-is that not the beauty of it? I could understand if you had friends on here who knew your name but if you are anon then why not?

I also post occasionally, but am terrified i'm going to say something that will upset someone else, without meaning to

puddle · 22/04/2005 11:25

i'm an occasional poster too. My main reason is lack of time - the debate moves on so quickly and often other posters have already made points I wanted to make. I do sometimes initiate threads if I hava specific queries and have posted a bit on the running thread as I'm a beginner and have had some good advice from the veterans.

northstar · 22/04/2005 11:25

Erm Dropinthe, surely if by definition they don't post then .........
they're not going to answer?

flamesparrow · 22/04/2005 11:26

Upsetting people is part of the fun

tweetyfish · 22/04/2005 11:26

it doesn't matter to me that you don;t know me in real life, i still don't want people to think bad of me. Inferiority complex i guess

Pinotmum · 22/04/2005 11:27

I'm like Puddle rrally. If I have something to add which I think hasn't been said I will post but if it's moved on I just lurk. I have had invaluable advice though and do enjoy my daily fix

sacha3taylor · 22/04/2005 11:29

My name is quite obvious - I have no imagination.

It is quite intimidating - especially as I joined when there was quite a bit of nastiness about.

I love sitting here reading, and like I said, I do post so am not really qualified to say why people don't post atall.

I am rambaling - hope I made a little bit of sense

dropinthe · 22/04/2005 11:30

northstar-was referring to people I had seen admit to using mnet but having either never posted before or rarely! Am not that fick!

OP posts:
sacha3taylor · 22/04/2005 11:31

OH, spelling is awfull as well

duster · 22/04/2005 11:31

I tend to pop in and out, and do post occassionally. But I do read/lurk more than I post. I often feel I havne't anything useful to contibute.
Also my spelling is pants!

sacha3taylor · 22/04/2005 11:31

sorry dropinthe - I ment my my spelling!

flamesparrow · 22/04/2005 11:32

Lol sacha.. you've seen cod's posts haven't you??

Discoinferno · 22/04/2005 11:32

I don't post that often unless I see something that interests me. Lots of posters seem to think they own the place and god forbid you don't tow the line. I could name names but it would probably be deleted.

Grin
dropinthe · 22/04/2005 11:33

I sometimes feel a tad inferior to other posters and might not join a thread if I feel I am going to be ignored or ridiculed.

Awww, so inferior you said it twice

I just ramble on at anyone... too opinionated for my own good, and half the time get my words all wrong and get people throwing cakes at me for insulting them when I didn't mean too.

Buy hey ho, you can't be liked by everyone!
