actually just took 12 seconds to start this thread .. to me that's a big disincentive to post here .. and I post ... a lot .. a helluva lot

Very slow for me too. Gave up on it last night and this morning and was forced to dabble with RL. All other sites I use are working fine.

I've asked the Techs about this and they're looking into it. (When they've finished talking about particle colliders and black holes. yawn...)

The server is not busy at the moment. If more than a few people are finding it slow then the most likely suspect is a bad advert. The difficulty is telling which one. I've just loaded this thread a couple of dozen times and seen a variety of ads, none of which slowed it down.

If you find a page load is slow, make a note of which ads are shown when the page finally appears. The two likely culprits are the one at the top of the page and the one on the right of the postings. If we see a pattern emerge (i.e. everyone says "when it happens to me the advert for X appears afterwards") then we can get that ad removed.

IMHO & IME it is the T MOBILE one that making threads im on sloooooooooooow

I bet Tech's hypothesis is right - that it's an ad - because here in France I don't get all the same ads as you lot (lots of French ones) and I have been having no problems at all.

Yes I agree very slooooooow last night (I gave up at about 9.45pm) and also earlier this morning but OK now - I'll check the adverts as requested

There might be something in the ad thing, I'm abroad too and so get different ads, like Anna, and I haven't had the same problems.

and get the same on both

i did point out that you can often tell when it is happening because you get the evidence of multiple postings by different people on different threads

analyse when those occur and you will get some info

There doesn't seem to be any obvious connections to specific ads on my computer. This page has taken almost a minute to load and has only an AVIS ad to the right of the screen. The previous page didn't seem to load any ads at all (or maybe it gave up trying after 1min 30 secs ). The page before that only had a small Thomas Cook ad at the very bottom of the page.
