Page not scrolling to bookmarked post anymore

When I visit a thread that I've been reading, I'm taken to the top of the page where I've bookmarked a post but not to the actual post. So, I've then got to scroll down hunting for the new post which is a bit of a waste of my time.
1st world problem, I realise, but the page used to automatically scroll down to my bookmark until a couple of days ago.
I'm using Chrome on an android phone.

Same for me too. It's been happening for the last couple of days. It looks like the pages are taking a century to load, if you wait for several minutes it sometimes jumps to the bookmarked post - but not always...

You're right. I was finding that, as I was scrolling, the page would often jump to the bookmark, but today it even seems to have given up doing that.

I've found it particularly annoying this morning because there's a huge post on one thread I'm watching which needs scrolling past, only to then find I have to scroll down the whole lot in full again as it's all quoted just for someone to say "Yes, this" or similar.
I'm getting friction burns on my thumb!

I've had this for months.

I did report it at the time but have come to realise that MN aren't going to do anything about it. Maybe they only fix things if they affect paying users.,

ETA: It is particularly irritating when the banner pops up saying 'find this post in your bookmarks list' or whatever, and I just think, 'yeah, right... 🙄'

Somewhat freakishly, on this particular thread, the bookmark is working for me.
Maybe it's because I started this one although I can't see why it would make a difference.

Happening for me too. Been a few days, seemed to occur after the site was down for a while so I assumed it was to do with that.

Same here. But I'm not clearing cookies or cache or anything if that's the answer. The last time made the site worse with pop up moving adverts everywhere.

Same, started yesterday on android phone and chromebook.

Not just you I just tried and it goes straight to bookmark on this one but not other threads.
I did try clearing my cache etc yesterday and hasn't made a difference.

Same here. Chrome on android. It does it when seeing responses to comments too. Only in the last few days.

Yeah I get something similar in that if someone replied or reacts to my post it doesn't then send you directly to that post. Only the top of the page on which it sits.

Yes, it's happening to me too. It's shit and probably a sign to spend less time clicking on Mumsnet...

Especially as the incredibly long post I was moaning about on another thread has been pointlessly quoted twice more and scrolling past all of them is driving me nuts!

Same for me. Also when I click on OPs next post it just changes to the next page.

I am having a similar issue with moving page and notifications.
When I move to the next page I’m taken to the bottom of the page not the top.
When I click on a notification link I am taken to the bottom not to the correct point.
On Safari on an iPad.

I have problems with post links on a laptop as well as bookmarks. Whether I’m following a link from a notification or search for an individual post or just trying to return to my bookmarked point in a thread I end up in the wrong place. Links to individual posts consistently take me to further down the thread so I have to scroll back to find it - its faster to just go to the thread and search through posts by the poster to find the post in the link.

This is on MacOS Tahoe 26.5 and is consistent across browsers.
