Bookmarks and notifications not working on mobile.

When I log onto MN from my laptop using Google Chrome, all the bookmarks work and if I click on a notification it'll take me straight to it.

But if I use the desktop site on my mobile (still Chrome) I click on a thread and have to scroll for ages to get to the bookmarked post.

Equally if I click on a notification, it just takes me to any random part of a thread and I have to scroll for ages again.

It's been like this for about 5 or 6 months or possibly longer as I've only been using my phone for this amount of time.

Anyone else?

Can you confirm by desktop site, you mean the desktop view on mobile?
Or do you mean the mobile view on the mobile site?

If it's desktop view on mobile then it could be misbehaving because of the browser not fully supporting desktop mode, but we're keen to take a look.

So on my laptop I Google 'Mumsnet' and log in that way - all fine.

Then on my phone I Google 'Mumsnet' and log in that way too but the bookmarks and notifications are as I've described above.

Why would a browser not fully support desktop mode? Weird.

I’ve been having this problem for months and started a thread about it in February.

Have come to the conclusion that it is not going to get fixed.

MN - could you at least take off the message that pops up saying something about being able to find the post in your bookmarks section as it is clearly a load of tosh!

I'm having a very similar problem except it doesn't jump all the way to the bottom, it just jumps to around 10 or 15 posts before the one I bookmarked, so I have to keep scrolling.

More or less the same when I click on a notification, I just have to scroll endlessly to get to it.

It really puts me off Mumsnetting on my phone but I don't want to download the app as I've never really heard a good word said about it.

I use the DuckDuckGo browser on my laptop (MacBook) and iPhone which at least blocks all the adverts.

I pay for Premium so I don't get adverts.

But the lack of bookmarking is driving me nuts.

@LilyMumsnet has anyone had a chance to look into this please?

I just tried MNetting on my phone while I was sitting in the garden, and each bookmarked thread is like a free for all, as to where I end up when I open them.

Notifications are the same. If someone quotes me for example and I click on the notification, I have to scroll half the thread to find it.
