Request to add a Wee Corner feature to the site

Could we please have a Wee Corner.

If MN'ers discover amazing/interesting articles that may captivate the community, they could post in the "Wee Corner"

Purely, as an example, I offer this about Joshua Bell, a world renowned musician.

The "wee corner" does not have to just relate to music ofc but could cover a gamut of interests which may engage a vast majority of MN

People will assume the wee corner is a place for the piss troll.

FWIW I knew what you meant, though I do live in Scotland. I think probably a thread or series of threads in Chat called The Wee Choral Chat Corner or whatever would probably do it.

Aren't these best posted in topic-specific areas, as currently? No article is interesting to everyone. Dog articles are interesting to doggy people, craft articles to crafty types, etc

I understand the use of wee in the context. I just don't understand how it would be different from the existing chat board.

I’m sassenach and don’t use the word ‘wee’ to mean little, unless I’m culturally appropriating eg a wee dram. Which I wouldn’t say anyway as I dislike whisky, but you get my drift

I don't think anyone would understand what it was for with that name. Scottish or not.

What does it mean in Scotland? I mean, I know wee means little, but what is conveyed by the term 'wee corner'. I'm imagining either a noticeboard in a local shop, where people pin postcards about pet sitting, secondhand trumpets, etc; or something like a nature table at school, where children bring in interesting finds.

(I don't think it can be the former, because I never heard the term in Fags, Mags and Bags, which is my main cultural reference point for small Scottish shops

I am actually quite surprised that some find it somewhat tricky to comprehend that a "wee corner" could just be a small area within the MN site to offer unusual/interesting/random, bits and bobs.

Are people really not getting that the OP just means a thread on MN to share interesting things you have come across that might also be of interest to others? Why are people fixating on the meanings of 'wee' and 'corner'?!

I don't know that 'Wee Corner' would be the best thread title (I've seen worse!) but the idea is a good one I think. I'd enjoy dipping in and finding interesting things I might not otherwise have stumbled across. Would be a nice change from some of the griping and sniping and could be quite uplifting.
