Having trouble using Mumsnet on Chrome

Just today, all of a sudden, the cursor won't change to the little hand thingy. All other sites are ok, and I can access Mumsnet on Edge. Is anyone else having the same issue?

Yes, me.

WeAreNotOk · 29/11/2025 21:59

Just tried using Firefox, which I also have, and it works.

murasaki · 29/11/2025 22:18

I was about 20 mins ago but it seems ok now.

Desolationrower · 29/11/2025 22:21

Mumsnet has been awful for me on Chrome for a few weeks now. Doesn't work too well on Safari either.

Shodan · 30/11/2025 00:11

Well it worked again for a brief while but has stopped now. Very frustrating cos I hate using Edge.

I only ever use Chrome and it's always fine for me.

Mind you, I use a laptop rather than a phone if it makes any difference?

Shodan · 30/11/2025 14:09

@PatThePenguin I've only ever used Chrome on a laptop as well, and it was fine. Until it wasn't. And still isn't. Most peculiar.

Have you tried clearing cookies etc?

That might help.

But I agree, most peculiar.

JennyWreny · 30/11/2025 15:25

Same, on Chrome on a mac. After site has loaded it's ok for about 3 seconds and then can't click on any links. Was definitely happening yesterday, not sure about Friday.

JennyWreny · 30/11/2025 15:30

Just realised that it only happens (for me) on the homepage. If I click onto a different page before the links stop working then it seems fine. Then if I go back to the homepage then they stop working again.

I also noticed that the links stop working at the same time that the ads load.

Don't know if any of that is useful info but hope someone from HQ can help.

WeAllHaveWings · 30/11/2025 18:02

The links seem to work fine on homepage until the Monsoon ad loads then they disappear to become just text/don't work. If you click really quickly to get into a thread before the ad loads you can then navigate

(windows laptop)

Baninarama · 30/11/2025 18:13

The massive new ads seem to be doing this. Also, when I open pages, the massive ads force the text left so the space taken up by what I want to read on the screen is less than the amount taken up by ads now - about 3/8 thread and 5/8 ad. It's a real pain in the arse and tbh I'll probably give up on Mumsnet soon as it makes me feel migrainey.

DeftGoldHedgehog · 30/11/2025 19:31

I can't use it on Chrome or Edge on my laptop. Appears to load ok, but I can't click on anything. It works on Android Chrome though.

Viviennemary · 30/11/2025 20:09

I can't click on things either. Click and nothing happens. Unless I go out and come in again.

Shodan · 30/11/2025 20:23

Ahh. I tried going in using Google and that worked. Then removed the automatic suggestion that I usually go in with and it seems to have done the trick.

(For now...)

Ditto

One page loads usually with Trending posts then unable to navigate anything else on the site or login.

Very tired of these issues. something is happening almost daily.

Works ok on a laptop but not desktop Chrome

Shodan · 30/11/2025 20:41

That's interesting @GarlicRound . Luckily so far I've had no lagging or crashing, although the advert that appears with irritating regularity over there >>> is a slight bane.

OP posts:
justalittlethought · 30/11/2025 20:45

Yes same. I had to refresh and then go to notifications and then access from there as clicking links didn't work!

GarlicRound · 30/11/2025 20:46

The links reappear if you wait ... well, either they do or the whole thing hangs/crashes.

I've got it sorted for the moment by clearing all cookies, as another poster mentioned.

However, there has been a run of issues over the last few weeks.

BeckyAMumsnet · 03/12/2025 09:22

Morning everyone - we're hoping this issue is fixed now but please do let us know if you have any further problems.

RobustPastry · 03/12/2025 15:50

It makes a blank page after posting that won’t reload
