I keep getting this message. Has anyone else had this and managed to solve the problem? I notice there's no longer page numbers, could this be part of the problem?
I hope someone can help me solve this, it's very frustrating!

Thanks for letting us know. The “failed to fetch more replies” message means the site’s having trouble loading additional posts, and it can sometimes happen if something’s interfering with the new way threads load. In the first instance, can you please clear your browser cache and see if that helps?

If no joy with that, please check whether you have any of these installed in your browser:
Ad blockers: AdBlock, Adblock Plus, uBlock Origin, AdGuard, AdRemover, Ultrablock, Malwarebytes Browser Guard
Privacy tools: Ghostery, Privacy Badger, Disconnect, Firefox Tracking Protection, DuckDuckGo, VeePN
If you do, try temporarily turning them off and then refresh the page to see if the replies load properly.

If you don’t use any browser extensions, it’s also worth checking whether your antivirus software (e.g. Norton, Bitdefender, Kaspersky, Sophos, Avast) has a web or tracker-blocking feature that might be interfering- try disabling that briefly and reloading the page to test.

Let us know how you get on. Thank you.

Thanks for the reply and suggestions Becky. I already have adblocker disabled for this site. I cleared my cache and it had no effect. I have already swapped from Norton to Avast anti virus, as I'd heard it can cause problems.Since this has only started happening in the last couple of days, I'm hoping that it's just my rural broadband going more slowly over the weekend. Strange it hasn't happened before.

Thanks for trying, @Michino - it's worth checking your broadband speed, too. (I like the Which one.) Are you noticing other sites slow to load or just Mumsnet?

In any case, if it happens again, let us know. It might be the Avast, tbh. It's tricky with these issues as it could be any number of things but hopefully we'll pinpoint it asap.

Broadband speed test - Which?

Broadband speed test checker that gives a more accurate indication of the speed delivered by your broadband provider. Check response time, download and upload speeds. Easy to use

I’m also having this issue. Things were much better when there were page numbers. Much easier to navigate a thread. Now if I am part way through a thread and come back later it just refreshes to the start. It’s making mumsnet much less usable.

spiderlog · 12/10/2025 09:49

I'm also having this issue, so I can't always see the most recent replies on threads. It's been happening for a few days. No issues on other websites and I'm on gigabit broadband.

This is the console error when I click 'Load newer posts':

Same issue will only load the first 20-50 replies. I’m on my phone no blocks/anyivirus, excellent WiFi speed - sad as I was enjoying the 45 year old Christmas present ideas - I need more!!

BlueTongueSkink · 12/10/2025 14:31

I'm having the same problem. I've cleared my cache and checked my broadband speed and all seems fine - no problems with any other websites.

Another76543 · 12/10/2025 14:57

I’m having exactly the same issue. No issues with other websites.

EatingSleeping · 12/10/2025 17:06

I'm having this too, I've cleared cache etc, it's only Mumsnet. It's stopping me shopping the Christmas thread ;)

As a side note page numbers on the forums worked so much better!!!

YellowKettle · 12/10/2025 17:10

Yes having the same issue.

Siddalee · 12/10/2025 20:26

Me too!

FullLondonEye · 12/10/2025 20:31

And me, just the last couple of days.

theadultsaretalking · 13/10/2025 07:30

Same here - both on my phone and on my laptop.

HebeMumsnet · 13/10/2025 10:16

Morning, everyone. Thanks for letting us know about this. We're on the case and working on a fix as we speak. We'll update here when there's any news.

Irenesortof · 13/10/2025 10:18

I've been having this problem for about 3 days now. It also happens if I try to use 'Flip', so flipping is not possible at the moment.

HebeMumsnet · 13/10/2025 11:28

Hello again, everyone. This issue should be fixed now. If any further problems, just let us know.
