Started to happen when you made the colour changes

Between the 2 I might have to go elsewhere for a few more months. The headache I get isn't worth it!

Same here with the page freeze. Assumed it was all the gambling adverts loading.

Sorry to hear you're having issues with pages freezing. Can you give us some further information - is this happening on long threads? Or any thread/area of the site in particular? Are there any adverts on screen when it freezes? Any screenshots provided will be a big help.

@AutumnyCrow could you please confirm the device and browser you're using to access the site?

Every time someone reports an issue you come back with this stock response. Your site is a horrible, glitchy mess. Maybe spend some money from the billions of (usually inappropriate) advert revenue to get it working properly.

Hello, I’m having trouble too. Not sure if this is the right thread or if I need to different one in site stuff but what is happening to me on Safari is, I try to look at a thread, any thread and I’m having to wait ages for it to load before I can do anything, sometimes the site doesn’t load at all and I have to restart my safari browser to even get in and the site freezes as well.

I can scroll a thread but can’t even get past the OP before the rest of the thread doesn’t load. I thought it was because I had to update to the latest iOS on the iPad. It’s also taken me about 10 minutes to even try and read any thread with all the restarting and loading.

Also, one last thing. A few times, after I’ve done this, the OP turns blue and the sign up button comes up and as soon as I press it, the my activity button comes back and the OP is green again.

Again, apologies if this was the wrong thread to mention these things

I've had the same today. Also on chrome and freezing etc.

I can't see what ads are on the screen, because I have to obscure them with a piece of cardboard. Otherwise they are just too distracting with moving pictures etc. Also, even if I did know what the add was for, no way would I give them yet more free advertising by naming them on there!

I’ve had this same issue on my iPhone for the best part of a week. I am finding the site unbearable to use currently and find myself giving up as it’s so frustrating to use.

@motherstongue can I ask if you updated to iOS 26 like I did? I do agree about the frustration though

In the past when I've read posts about MN page freezing have always assumed it's the poster device as I had no problem, but not now!

I have a new HP laptop, just a few weeks old, and MN does freeze at least once a day. I use Chrome browser and have no problems with any other website.

@JewelleryCat oops sorry! My phone is 5 years old so it doesn’t support the newest update unfortunately. My DH uses DuckDuckGo which strips out ads so I’ve loaded that as my browser and it appears to be much better.

Maybe it’s not the update causing the problem then because other websites are fine to use, no freezing etc. I do prefer Safari but maybe I need another browser just for MN which seems crazy to do

My iPad is also constantly freezing, doesn’t matter what the thread is, but on safari not through an app. It’s since the updates and has made the site unusable

Same for me today. Chrome browser on a laptop. Not happening anywhere except MN.

I agree, it’s very unusable. I’m glad it’s not just me and the iOS 26 I updated too. Do you recommend the app?

@LilyMumsnet same for me on iPad safari just reading this short thread has frozen & reloaded at least twice really is very irritating the site is constantly glitchy.

freezing when i use my phone which is android ,,ok on chromebook .
no pattern other than frequent .
Chrome on both ,phone is a Pixel

I also have been having constant problems on the site ever since you asked us to delete MN from our AdWare. I can hardly post at all on many days and it's so annoying, I go to open a thread I am on and nothing, no adverts load for ages, then I either have a blank page, page freeze or just can't post for any other reason. No problems on other sites. IPad safari 18. ? Not sure and don't want to leave this post to check in case I can't return to it.

@Mummylin have you downloaded the app? It’s the only way I could keep using MN. I prefer the desktop site but the app is better than nothing until this is sorted out

I’ve now downloaded DuckDuckGo private browser for MN as recommended by another poster, and I’m glad I did.

No more intrusive, screen-covering ads. No more inappropriate ads. No more freezing. No more battery draining, phone heating inconveniences.

Result. Thank you to whoever recommended it.

Same here iPhone Safari . I can't get rid of the keyboard either when I click 'Done'
