Why are my pages autoscrolling, and how do I turn this off?

As per the title. This is distracting and annoying. How do I turn it off?

It's very odd. Just started this evening.

Whenthetimeisright · 18/09/2025 23:19

Infuriating isn't it? It makes it impossible to enjoy reading a thread.
I honestly think whoever designed the changes in the site is taking pleasure in making it a nightmare for us to use.

VivaDixie · 18/09/2025 23:25

It's awful. And making me want to get it off my phone.

Have MN been hacked by bots? The other changes were weird enough but this is ruining the whole experience.

SoloSofa24 · 18/09/2025 23:32

They've been running a trial of infinite scrolling for a while - some of us were unlucky enough to be subjected to this months ago. There is a long-running thread where if you ask them to remove you from the trial, they will (eventually).

But possibly it is now no longer a trial and they are planning to make everyone have the infinite scroll experience unless they beg not to?

Fargo79 · 18/09/2025 23:35

I think this is a different thing @SoloSofa24. My app has been automatically scrolling, i.e. the page is moving down of its own accord as I'm trying to read it. Equally as infuriating as the infinite scroll though 🤯

SoloSofa24 · 18/09/2025 23:37

@Fargo79 Oh no, that sounds horrendous! I haven't had that one yet.

SpringingOn · 18/09/2025 23:40

I have also got this - maybe the push I need to quit mumsnet!

DeedlessIndeed · 18/09/2025 23:41

Ah, I thought my phone was broken! So glad I stumbled across this thread.

Please can it be fixed. I can't read fast enough.
