Private messages - Android app

I use the app. Had an email saying I have a private message. For some reason these aren't available on the app. However, I can't log in on the browser as it automatically redirects me to the app and I can't stop it. How can I see my message ?

Delete the app! You can always reinstall it again if you feel like it - takes a couple of minutes.

Try this:
On an Android phone. Go to settings->Apps->Mumsnet->Open by default and change the setting from "In the app" to "In your browser"

I don't use the app and almost never send or receive any messages. I think I did try the app but for some reason either didn't like it or see the point.

No? No urgent message. Thanks for the fix. I personally don't like the browser version and prefer the app. This has never been an issue before as I'd never received a message.

Are you clicking the link in the email which is taking you to the app? I have both, but always use the browser. I google MN and then log in that way. If you’re clicking on links it will open the app.

No, I went through Google on my browser and logged in. It wouldn't let me see it until I'd deleted the app. So great functionality there MN!

I have received a private message. I logged in to my account - I don't subscribe - clicked into private message and tried to reply but it won't let me. Do I have to subscribe to reply?

@Putneymum101 you don't have to subscribe to reply - if you let us know what's happening we will certainly look into it.
