Posting leaves text in the box you write in (see image)

I've popped a screenshot in, but this seems odd to me? Normally when I post (duck browser on PC) my text goes in to the "posted section" and the text box is emptied?

Hi, thanks for flagging this to us. We've had a couple of other threads recently where other Mumsnetters have had this issue and we're trying to get to the bottom of it. It must be very frustrating! So are you both having to manually delete the text in the box before you can post again?

Yes, exactly that. And it looks ay a quick glance like I haven't posted at all so would be easy to duplicate post.

At least I think so. Hoping the problem replicates now so I can test that!

I have a similar issue using safari on an iPhone but it also prevents me from posting more than once on a thread.

My latest user name is automatically in the the user name box but I get a message telling me I need to add a user name. I have to retype it to be able to post.

Although it lets me post once I have re typed my name, I still get the same error message even though it has posted, which has led to multiple duplicate posts before I realised…

I can’t post a second message on a thread because you can’t change your user name on a thread so the retyping the user name work around isn’t possible.

This stopped for me for a bit but today has happened three times. The trxt remaining in the box after posting; I haven't had the username issue

I wonder if it makes a difference how long you take to write the post so whether the draft saves multiple times and that's what triggers it to stay in the box. I have deliberately left this one in draft for longer......

Can we check how the username issue is, Is it sorted for you? We rolled out a fix, so we're just making sure everything is back to normal.

It’s working for me now. Although if the fix isn’t working for users using different devices or browsers, they may not be able to reply on this thread as the issue prevented me from being able to post more than once on a thread… 😂

I never had the username issue but the one with text staying in the writing box after posting is still happening. Any update on that. Just happened to me again which you can just about see here

Still happening. Not on every thread but a few times today. Android Samsung phone, mobile site on Chrome if it matters
