Advert for puppies

I don't think this advert is appropriate. I haven't clicked on it or investigated Kelly's Kennels and I'm not going to - I don't think advertising animals for sale is appropriate on Mumsnet at all. This website should not be flogging livestock. What next, a Mumsnet Recommends of puppy breeders?

I saw it on this thread, I'm using the app.

Agreed - completely inappropriate to allow adverts for a large acale puppy farm.

SpringIsSprung1 · 08/06/2025 08:54

we have a rescue Cocker Spaniel who we were told by rescue centre that he came from Kelly's farm. He is very inbred and had behavioural issues as well as physical. He's an old boy now and has been a lovely dog after much input from us. When we got him, he was very aggressive. The rescue place said the farm was renowned for bad breeding! Steer clear!

I agree. Puppy farms should not be advertised. It’s quite shocking really.

Hi there @Kleptronic . Thanks for letting us know. We'll do our best to track this advert down. If anyone is able to click on it (you can do this in incognito mode) and send us the URL that will help us to find it much more quickly. Thanks!

I’ve just seen an ad from a breeder selling Bengal cats on a Litter Tray thread.

It worries me that rescue centres are effectively supporting puppy farms by taking their animals for rehoming. I got my dog in a similar way and have worried about it ever since. The rescue was shut down by the RSPCA a few years later. Very upsetting.

Thanks for all your help with this one. We've blocked the ad now so it shouldn't be appearing any more but please do let us know here if anyone sees it again.

Hi @worrisomeasset - sorry for the delay in responding. Was it a post on a thread, or an advert that appeared within a thread?

It was the latter.

JoMumsnet · 13/06/2025 12:53

Thanks, worrisomeasset - do let us know if it appears again. If you can grab a screenshot too, that would be very helpful.
