Is MN unusable for anyone else or is it just me?

I’ve had to go to incognito mode to get it to bloody work. Threads are taking forever to load and the site just doesn’t seem to work.

Mine's fine

rubyslippers · 31/05/2025 20:31

I have had issues
the same threads showing in active even after a refresj
Threads ive posted on saying “o”
text over laying on threads

ExtensiveDebating · 31/05/2025 20:32

Mine's fine.

springintoaction321 · 31/05/2025 20:33

It was like that on my old phone.

SlightlyJaded · 31/05/2025 20:36

Been really slow for a couple of weeks for me. All other sites are loading quickly and I have super-fast wifi, but MN is crawling...

marshmallowpuff · 31/05/2025 20:36

Yes, taking ages to load, bookmarks not working, posts not posting on threads, randomly refreshing pages. I’m using it on Safari on an iPhone 16, just tried to post this and it wouldn’t! Have to refresh multiple times before anything posts!

SurvivingaNarc · 31/05/2025 20:54

If I reply to a thread, then go back to active, the whole active page sort of jumps back and I have to scroll back through old ones to get back to where I was, very annoying

Tittibits · 31/05/2025 21:11

Shite for months. Ages to load, often not loading, not being able to click on threads. Unusable really- I’ve almost stopped bothering!

BeNiceWhenItsFinished · 31/05/2025 21:32

Mine's normal.

saraclara · 31/05/2025 21:33

Hopeless yesterday. I had a really good signal but it took forever to load. Oh several occasions I had to close it and open it again just to get a thread to load

ReignOfError · 31/05/2025 22:43

Yep, crap to the point of being unusable for the last couple of weeks. I thought they’d fixed all the glitches a few months back, but apparently not.

gamerchick · 31/05/2025 22:45

Ok for me

TwattyMcFuckFace · 31/05/2025 22:46

All good here (Chrome, desktop).

TelephoneWires · 31/05/2025 22:48

I moved the private browsing mode for Mumsnet a few months ago. It’s ok there - have to close safari if I forget and open it on normal pages.

Wildywondrous · 31/05/2025 23:02

On mine the op is now in green not pink and there's no option to move onto page 2 of the thread.

I'm logged in properly and can post.

ChompandaGrazia · 31/05/2025 23:28

It seems to have improved now. But I’ll not get too excited.

The no pages thing is apparently a feature not a bug. They're introducing endless scroll, which effectively makes the site unusable.

The no pages thing is a feature they are testing with some users. There's a thread in site stuff where you can request to be removed from the test group and get your page numbers back. Lots of people have done so.

Wildywondrous · 01/06/2025 09:23

Thanks for that, it's back to normal now so I must've been removed.

It would've been nice to be notified that I was part of a test group.

Mines been bloody awful recently, really slow to load, unable to connect to sever then it stuffs up my other internet searching
don’t know wether it’s my phone, internet or O2

Teacup40 · 01/06/2025 19:45

Mines been rubbish for about a week. I don't seem to be getting many new threads just the same ones repeated if that makes sense.

shiverm · 01/06/2025 19:53

Mine keeps reloading when I’m in the middle of reading a message halfway through a page, it then takes enough time to load up and find my place again that I cba reading any more. It also kept forcing me to use the username I keep for talking about fertility issues and miscarriages on the app, like I’d switch to this username and it would automatically change to the one I reserve for really personal chats, so I deleted the app. I did email mn about it but all they could do each time was offer to change the name/delete the message (not fix the actual issue). So I very rarely use Mumsnet anymore. A shame as I’m a pretty lonely person!

HebeMumsnet · 02/06/2025 12:36

Afternoon, everyone. There are a lot of different issues here but we'll try and answer any we can and take a look at everything else. It might be that there are threads already running on a few of these issues, and it's worth having a scroll through site stuff as there may well be more info and updates being posted on those. Here are a few questions answered anyway...

@rubyslippers and @SurvivingaNarc - these issues with Active threads have been fixed now so should be working ok again.

@marshmallowpuff - we're looking at the bookmarks problem now and hope to have a fix soon.

@Wildywondrous - we're aware of the colour-change issue and are working on it as we speak. Regarding the pages problem, it might well be the infinite scroll thing but if you've asked to be removed that should have been done. Sounds like that one is sorted now.

@shiverm - Thanks for letting us know about the name change issue on the app. This is something a few people have brought up and we're looking at solutions for it now, too.

ChunkingDreamer · 02/06/2025 13:13

It takes an age to load (if it ever does) if I'm on Chrome, so I've had to switch to DuckDuckGo, but even then, it will load pages in a different place to where I've bookmarked, so I have to scroll through tons of posts I've already read. Annoying!

saraclara · 02/06/2025 14:55

It's started freezing again, for me. I have to close the site and open it again to get back on track. It was doing that on Friday and Saturday, okay yesterday, doing it again today. I'm on Chrome and not having issues with any other site.
